Here are a few videos to ease you into the new week…

  • Bill Moyers takes a look at some of the smaller stories coming out of Iraq:

  • The political situation in Iraq takes on a strange new twist as an American right-wing lobbying firms is being paid big bucks to undermine the government of Nuri Al-Malaki and promote Ayad Allawi:
  • A Ted Nugent video clip was mentioned on The David Goldstein Show this evening. Here is the clip, showing Nugent saying that Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should suck on his machine guns. Ted…still motherfucking insane after all these years. But hey…he just may be the next governor of Michigan.

We may be witnessing something historic. As I type this, Darcy has raised $75,500! In three daya, over a summer weekend.

Congrats to Goldy! He is proving that Bloggerdom has the ability to replace political parties. Soon, a nomination by HA will mean MORE than a nomination by a traditional party.

Does such power corrupt?

2. Gordon spews:

Ted Nugent reminds me of what a great country we live in. This kind of tripe would not be tolerated elsewhere. He might find himself swooshed away to a gulag, or something worse. But no, in America he can prance around like a total jackass on stage and suck out a few more minutes of fame on YouTube. Isn’t this country great! Viva, Americana!

3. Broadway Joe spews:

Ain’t it the truth, Gordon. There’s ol’ Ted for you, the epitome of the Modern American Republican, an angry, violent, backwards hick with visions of grandeur and the money and weaponry to be truly dangerous to those around him.

And I find it totally hilarious that the person who rants and raves about ‘dirty hippies having sex’ was himself (his own words) a ‘wang-dang sweet poontang addict’ himself. And I hate to say it, but his missus may have been in business for herself when they met, but the fake rack and make-up scream ‘former stripper’. At least she was probably of legal age when she met Ted (unlike previous wife Pele Massa, who was maybe 15 or 16 when she became Ted’s Little Miss Dangerous).

Breaking News – Fredo is out the door.

According to MSNBC, Fox, and CNN, the NY Times is reporting that Alberto Gonzalez has resigned as US Attorney General.

5. Puddybud spews:

Golly ASSIE Voice, you forgot Hart Williams former PORN editor for Hustler Mag who now works at Donk Nat’l Commies (DNC) who wrote:

“How we can remain ‘civil’ in the face of this is beyond my ken. I will only reiterate what I’ve said WHEN they manage to inevitably push their litany of hatespeak into actual bloodletting, and full-blown civil war (for there is no other place that this hatred of American against American can go), well … I’ve got dibs on Rush, as soon as it’s legal and lawful to shoot him. Whoever wants Ted Nugent is welcome to him, but I would prefer that you would call it now, so as to conserve on ammunition. We will need to manage it prudently. But when the day comes that they have finally set brother against brother, and sister against sister in the name of their pocketbooks, I won’t approach exterminating them with anything approaching remorse. They’ve already told me what they think of me, of my friends and of my peers. Now, I’m returning the favor. Put that in your pipe and have the WSJ editorial staff show you how to smoke it, Nugent. Courage.”

Of course you forgot, but not Puddy.

6. Daddy Love spews:

So now that the Bush administration has given up on democracy promotion in Iraq and is looking for a strongman to ruthless suppress the people begin the reconciliation process there, will we finally have respite from the hypocritical whining of the wingnuts about “freedom” in Iraq? I mean, we could begin with the fact that the country is occupied by a large foreign army, which is pretty much, you know, the opposite of freedom.

7. Daddy Love spews:

Yes, Ted Nugent…

“I was in Chicago last week, I said, “Hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these, you punk!” Obama, he’s a piece of sh*t and I told him to suck on my machine gun! Let’s hear it for them. I was in New York and I said, “Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch. And since I’m in California, how about Barbara Boxer? She might want to suck on my machine gun! Hey, Dianne Feinstein, ride one of these, you worthless whore!””

Yeah, he’s something.

8. Daddy Love spews:

And Ted Nugent recently got an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal. Can you believe that? I guess we have to believe that just about freakin’ anything can come out of the Right here in their waning days.

9. My Left Foot spews:

Rupert Murdoch now runs the WSJ. Expect more.

Ding dong the witch is dead. G’bye Alberto, we hardly knew ye.

It’s not surprising he hates trolls like me, I’ve been saying he hates himself for weeks now. He does exactly what he hates me for doing- trolling.
20. So , what your saying is that when you thought you were winners ,you didn’t know what you were talking about, but now that you’re losers you think you do?

Why is there outrage for halliburton/cheny profiting from the war but no outrage about diane feinstein/Perini Corp. and URS Corp.

The health care in france is collapsing, someone call michael moore.
“It’s true we really have good access, but what if the system is not sustainable anymore?” says Teil. “It’s going to break. It’s going to blow. And then no more accessibility for anybody.”
Tiel says the cost of France’s socialized health care is growing faster than its economy. Workers pay about fifty percent of their paycheck each month into healthcare, retirement and unemployment and more companies are outsourcing jobs to avoid those costs. Quality of care also suffers in France, says Teil, because hospitals and doctors resist government requirements to report their success and failures.
“Providers think that if the government sets new measures, it’s just to control them and take away resources,” says Teil. “With a system with no transparency like in France – when you don’t have these measures – you don’t have any incentives to be the best. Because nobody will know anyway that you’re the best.”
By contrast, Tiel says privately-owned hospitals in the U.S. are motivated to measure and report their quality of care, which leads to better care.

Wasn’t Keith Olbermann supposed to have a prime time version of “countdown” on NBC last (sunday) night?

Anyone happen to watch it?

Foley not being charged with any crimes? Say it ain’t so. So the outrage from the left was about someone being gay?
“”My guess is they probably have been unable to find evidence of an actual relationship,” diGenova said. “Although the e-mails were suggestive, they didn’t violate a statute.””
Considering what melissa etheridge said about the democrats-
“Etheridge, who came out during the 1992 inauguration of President Clinton, hit Sen. Clinton for gay rights promises not kept during the Clinton administration. “We were thrown under the bus,” she said.”
Wow, what a surprise. Democrats promised, and lied.
And when you consider all the democrat states that voted down gay marriage, it sure doesn’t look like democrats are very accepting of gays.

21. Broadway Joe spews:

That’s because same-sex marriage is still something of a taboo in many peoples’ minds, even to those who otherwise have no problem with the GLBT community. This taboo is easily exploited by the homophobic right to a point where even Oregon shot down a same-sex marriage proposal. Really, the hysteria is all part of the continued demonization of the GLBT community by the Religious Right that has gone on in fact for the last 20+ years (since the fall of Communism, they needed some sort of bad guy to attack) and in practice since God only knows when.

It’s EQUAL rights, not SPECIAL rights, people. To quote Beethoven, “Freedom above all!”

22. SeattleJew spews:

@21 Broadway Joe Horsepoop

I support full rights for everyone … same sex, no sex, polygamy, polyandry.

I support a NOK law, each person should have the rigtht to declare one other person a next of kin and that can be you sister, father, spouse or whoever.

There is NO reaosn in any of this to deny the obvious existance in our species and virtually all other species of gender. There is a word for mixed gender pairing, that word is “marriage.” Recognizing the existance of mail female pairings or polyandry/gamy has NO relationship to wht other realtions we also recognize.

In Europe this issue has been largely solved by allowing people to choose some sort of pairing under law or, if they are of mixed gender and want to jin THAT tradition, they call it marriage.

Newspeak is bad. Removing a word form the language does not solve the problme of bigotry.

Ted Nugent is an over rated loud mouth moron, he isn’ t that good of a guitar player, and his songs are STUPID. Well so much for his musical abilities, now lets discuss his political views,,,,,PURE FECES!!!!

Hey Ted,
Remember years ago when you pushed your way onto the stage of “Mahogany Rush”, to challenge their guitarist to a “Guitar Duel”?

For Those who didn’t know, but want to know a little Rock n’ Roll history that BLOWHARD TED would rather forget, here’s a discription by none other than Frank Marino himself!

Frank Marino;
“I was playing Detroit one night and Ted was the opening act and then halfway through my set his roadies pushed his amps onto our stage and he began trying to out-volume me. I was pretty stunned because I thought “what a jerk”, but I didn’t want my guys to throw him off the stage ’cause I felt that he’d make something out of it, so I played along with his gag and answered all of his riffs, quite easily I might add. I guess he got a little un-nerved ’cause the crowd could see that it wasn’t really working for him, so he tried to finish it off by playing with his teeth, of all things, which he did real slow and jerky. I guess that he really didn’t believe that I could do that ’cause i wasn’t givin’ to doing
those things in those days, but any guitarist can tell you that it’s quite easy to do, although I guess to Ted it was the “big hard”, so after he finished his lick and the crowd grew silent waiting to see if I’d respond and I waited and waited until it got real quiet. You could hear a pin drop in that hall and I could hear a friend of mine offstage whisper, “do it”. So after an enormously long pause, and just as Ted started to strut towards me, I picked up my axe to my teeth and let loose with a blitz of notes, loud, long and fast. Well, the crowd goes nuts and I guess Ted, to his credit, realized what happened so he falls down like he’s been shot and I guessed that meant that I’d won or something. To this day, I think it was the single most stupid thing that I’d ever seen in music. I remember that
Ted began to go around the country doing these battle shows. They asked if I’d do it with them but I declined. I think that this was the day that the “WWF” came to rock and roll and I really think that Ted was dumb to do that kind of crap. As to whether I blew Ted Nugent’s doors off, I think we should ask the fans that were there and remember it. After that, Ted and I ended up at the same management for a while along with Aerosmith, and he always acted like he didn’t like me very much, although I couldn’t imagine why….

The source of this comment can be found at Frank Marino’s own website in his “Ask Frank” section;

Summary; Ted Nugent is an over rated musician songwriter and guitarist, and he is an ASSHOLE on top of it,,,,
