– I want to support the Off-Peak Discount for Metro, but I don’t think it’s very rational. I don’t know, maybe just because it went up so much in recent years.

– “Why I Use Birth Control”: 11 Women Speak Up

– It’s rather striking to see how many states have ultrasound requirements, biased counseling sessions, mandatory waiting periods, and regulations on the abortion pill.

– But there’s no question as to whether the GOP chicken or the Democratic egg is responsible for it. It may be true that President Obama has used executive powers in unprecedented way in some discrete instances but unless the presidency really is a ceremonial position or a potted plant, the GOP has left him no choice. Their bad faith is obvious.

– It turns out cops may not have a right to shoot your dog.

– I can get behind a This product was delivered by a bicycle label.

– I have been slowly re-reading Vonnegut, but I have avoided Slaughterhouse 5, Mother Night and Cat’s Cradle because I’m afraid I won’t like them as much as I did when I was 14. Anyway, I’ll probably have to get over that with Slaughterhouse 5 to get the full effect of this.

Two, count’m TWO former Utah Attorneys General indicted for bribery, enterprise corruption and malfeasance related charges. Arrested and taken into custody in handcuffs in full view of the public.

A good start at scratching the surface of the GOP corruption that has gone unchecked for far too long.

WA candidate defends Cliven Bundy’s racist remarks, calls city’s sign rules ‘tyranny’

    By Travis Gettys
    Tuesday, July 15, 2014 15:01 EDT

A libertarian video activist running as a Republican for Congress bragged that he had been to the Bundy ranch during a candidate forum last week.

Gavin Seim, who has posted video encounters between himself and law enforcement — including an incident that resulted in disciplinary action last year for a Boise police officer – is running for the congressional seat vacated by retiring Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Pasco).

Now here’s a candidate the Republifuck’s favorite Uncle Tom, our own puddypussypissypants can really get behind (hmmmmm…literally or figuratively???…hmmmmm…).

Maybe they can bang goats together. ‘Coupla wild and kraaaaazzzzeeee guys like that…who knows.

    @ 4

The Dominionist TeaBagger types are ultimately holocaust deniers in any case. They grew up watching shit like “Song of the South” and “The Rifleman” and they think that is what life was really like. They were teethed and weaned on television being their primary god. They believed everything they saw on it. They watched the news about the Civil Rights battles taking place in Mississippi and Louisiana and Tennessee and hate those damn uppity Negroes for what they were doing to this country and have denied their own culpability and that of their parents and grandparents ever since. So they tell baldfaced lies to their own kids about how the black folks were treated in this country before the commies gave them the right to vote.

    Case in point.

@5 That’s why I’m against charter schools, which receive public funding with no voter control over, or accountability for, what is taught or whether children learn. Charter schools are akin to turning over control of our police or military forces to private individuals who answer to no one.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors has approved a massive contract for Light Rail Vehicles, up to 260 of them. Siemens won the contract, but the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco still has to vote. With a this contract, the work will stay in California.

I don’t understand the point of pricing off-peak/peak differently when the difference is merely 25 cents. Increase the disparity to 50 cents, the way it used to be, or get rid of it.

I would rather see an Off-Peak Day Travelcard like they do in London. Great for tourists and others who are able to use the system during off hours. Takes the load off the system and sells more tickets.

I would use transit more if didn’t cost so much when use it heavily one day a week. Generally I take my car instead, because parking is not really a problem in the neighborhoods during the day, if you know where to look for free spots.

One thing you’ll almost never see employers do is take responsibility. If they can’t fill job vacancies, they blame it on workers’ lack of skills. But sometimes it’s their own damn fault.

Employers expect you to get the training and skills they need at your own expense. They expect you to endure absurd interview processes, then wait weeks or months to find out whether they’re going to offer you a job. They expect you to relocate and reorder your whole life around their whims. They expect you to jump on their command. Well, I have news for them: I made $2,257 in the stock market today, so they can keep their fucking job. I refuse to work, because I’m a capitalist now. We should all be capitalists and refuse to work on their terms.

Another reason to tell employers to take a hike.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Business.....d=24581940

Roger Rabbit Commentary: At least these workers have a union to represent them. Without a union, they couldn’t even take a piss. If you’re one of the unfortunates who has to work for a living, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want a union on your side. I just don’t get workers voting against unions. The union is their only friend. Their employer sure as hell isn’t on their side.

Goes to show Rahmbo is way over his head as the mayor. Puddy had a job in Chicago just a few days as he took over being mayor. Rahmbo made sure all the signage from O’Hare to the inner city told the world he was mayor but he had no clue about inner city gun violence by gangs and criminals. Yet Rahmbo wanted to steal the guns from the regular citizens.

    Clueless then, still clueless now!
