You go, Joe. Let’s see a Republican deliver in a good-humored, good-mannered manner like that. We got bench. They don’t.

As the House moves toward a showdown vote on health care, the SEIU and other unions are making it known that Democrats who vote “no” won’t get a free pass:

“Unions were … talking about recruiting primary challenges to Democrats who got elected with their help but plan to vote against reforms they consider vitally important. ‘SEIU members expect Congress to pass health care reform. If the U.S. House fails to muster the courage to pass health insurance reform, there will be consequences,’ Jessica Kutch wrote on the Service Employees International Union blog.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: It’s time for some politicians to learn that screwing your friends means they aren’t your friends anymore. That should apply at the state level, too.

How Rightwing Conspiracy Theories Are Born

“A funny thing happened on the way to the congressional switchboard earlier this week. On Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh told his listeners to call Congress and tell them to vote no on health care reform. … But Rush made a critical error in his activism and it … showcased the absolute hatred some of Rush’s listeners feel about Democratic health care reform. …

“FamiliesUSA, a pro-reform activist group, has a toll-free number on its web site …. People who call this number … reach a recorded message that begins, “Thank you for calling your representatives and your senators. Please urge them to vote yes on health reform…” After the pro-reform message, the call is routed to the actual capitol switchboard. …

“Unfortunately for Rush, he gave out the toll-free FamiliesUSA number on his show on Tuesday, which meant his anti-reform listeners got a pro-reform message when they tried to call Congress … [and] Rush’s callers didn’t understand this whole re-routing thing and many were absolutely and astoundingly enraged.

“Many of them assumed the pro-reform message they got was a left-wing conspiracy to take over government. …

“After FamiliesUSA turned off their original toll free number, it was bought by someone else who must have known about the mixup. That new person put a pro-reform bulletin on an answering machine and recorded messages left by angry – and I mean very angry – Rush listeners. WARNING: Many of the message contain obscenities – they can be accessed by calling 206-666-6666.

“If you ever had any doubts that there are people out there who truly believe the Democratic health reform plan is a communist conspiracy to take over America…”

Welcome to feudalism in the new millennium:

It’s one thing to require a citizen to pay taxes–to pay into the commons. It’s another thing to require taxpayers to pay a private corporation, and to have up to 25% of that go to paying for luxuries like private jets and gyms for the company CEOs.

It’s the same kind of deal peasants made under feudalism: some proportion of their labor in exchange for protection (in this case, from bankruptcy from health problems, though the bill doesn’t actually require the private corporations to deliver that much protection). In this case, the federal government becomes an appendage to do collections for the corporations.

2 days in a row–worst Strong-Approvals 2 days in a row. Even if Obam-MaoCare passes…it will never go away in the minds of most Americans. Silver Platter for Republicans

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President

Biden should talk about his admitted Plagarism and chronic lying illness…like being in Iraq with bombs flying everywhere which turned out to be a lie that John Kerry busted him on.
    Biden IS a joke.

    We got bench.

You got cooties. Read Chambers yet? (No, that’s not the Ivory Snow porn star.)

Then explain your infatuation: GO RICHARD! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE! POPE!

The explanation is clearly YLB’s homoerotic attraction to His Holiness, but if we said that YLB would accuse us of homophobia. That’s what YLB always does. So we won’t say it.
