Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:

Shows how pathetic the far-left has gotten, doesn’t it.

Um, because people can’t get along? Because of visionary differences? Because big egos clash?

How is this precisely an indictment of left-wing political theory?

  2. 3

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    Two Years For Bunnyslaughter

“A Florida man will likely get two years in prison after pleading guilty to killing three bunnies by twisting them with his hands.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Florida’s “stand your ground” law didn’t do this thug any good! One down, one to go.

  3. 4

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@1 Yawn. The guy didn’t show up for work when he was supposed to. Most bosses fire for that. Nothing ideological about it.

  4. 6

    Roger Rabbit spews:

More irrationality from the SP comments:

“A great point. The expectation was that Zimmerman should have walked away. But it takes two to tango. Martin could have just as easily walked away as Zimmerman.

“The media narrative of brown skinned people as helpless victims assumes that Martin could not have acted to diffuse the situation just as easily as Zimmerman. The onus is always on the lighter skinned actor to provide extra special accommodation to the darker skinned actor. That’s the underlying assumption. And we see it will all things the Leftist establishment does.

“The media and the Left wants not only the turnabout of all that is rational, but the sanction of the victim. No matter the facts, if you end up on the wrong side of the Leftist skin color equation, you are guilty and you should immediately repent AND sanction their one-way standard of justice.

“Posted by Jeff B. at March 31, 2012 09:58 AM”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Like every other rightwing commenter on SP, Jeff B. takes Zimmerman’s self-serving story at face value and bases his argument on the unproven assumption that Martin attacked Zimmerman, not the other way around.

Relying on that assumption, he sees Zimmerman as the victim — even though it was Zimmerman who (1) initiated the confrontation, (2) is the guy who brought the gun to the confrontation, (3) is the guy who did the shooting, and (4) is the guy who suffered at most superficial injury while the other guy is dead. How does any of this make Zimmerman a victim?

I’ll tell you how. Because Zimmerman is white. What the right sees in this whole case is White Victimhood. Zimmerman is being demonized by the “liberal media”, not because he killed an unarmed black teenager, but because he is white. The fact that a 17-year-old is dead has nothing to do with it. Liberals, the media, Obama — they’re all out to get George Zimmerman because he’s white.

That’s how conservatives see the world.

  5. 7

    Roger Rabbit spews:

The world has seen this mentality before.

You get this exact same sense of victimhood from reading Barbara Tuchman’s “The Guns of August.”

When the Germans marched their armies through neutral Belgium in August 1914, shooting civilian hostages and burning villages as they went, it was all the fault of the Belgians because, um, the Belgian Army had the temerity to resist the German invasion of their country.

I’m not kidding, the Germans blamed the Belgians for the atrocities they themselves committed. That’s a historical fact. The conservatives blaming Martin for getting shot by Zimmerman would feel right at home in the Kaiser’s propaganda bureau.

Trayvon Martin didn’t start this confrontation any more than Belgian peasants started World War I. George Zimmerman is no more an innocent victim of violence than was the Kaiser or his troops.

How, exactly, would Belgium have “walked away” or “defused” (sic; not “diffuse”) that situation? How, exactly, should Trayvon Martin have walked away or defused the situation when he was accosted by Zimmerman?

What “extra special accomodation” should Belgium have provided to the German invaders? Given the Germans permission to invade them?

What “extra special accomodation” should George Zimmerman have given Trayvon Martin? How about just leaving him alone?

  6. 8

    Roger Rabbit spews:

I guess if you’re in the media and you call out bullshitters on their bullshit that makes you “liberal biased.” But maybe what some in the media really are is just sick and tired of ideology-driven bullshit.

Any metalhead trolls like the racist asshat troll out there?

Here’s Dave Mustaine of Metallica and Megadeath fame head-banging it to Rick Santorum and birtherism:

“born somewhere else than america… how come he was “invisible” until.. whatever he became in Illinois?”..

Invisible? Fuck Dave maybe because he was black? The fucking dope and the amplified noise has done wonders for your pea brain.

Heh.. The asshat troll can totally relate.

  8. 14

    Roger Rabbit spews:

The Shrank’s latest missive on gun training, as I understand it, is that gun training is useless because even trained police officers leave loaded guns where 3-year-olds can get them.

  9. 16

    Steve spews:

Meanwhile, over at (un)SP, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this hate-filled freakazoid shoots some black kid dressed in a hoodie within a week. Hell, maybe he already did last night.

I had a minor confrontation with a young black boy/man last evening involving him on foot and me in my vehicle driving home.
This boy dressed in a “hoodie” (not unlike Trayvon) went out of his way to incite a confrontation with me apparently simply because I am white and middle aged. It was entirely possible that he believed that I was some white liberal clown he could intimidate and easily overcome with an adrenaline rush and sweeping act of bravado. I am not.

Such stupid behaivor is not necessarily a black thing though; I remember the youthful days of raging angst and arrogant disbelief in my own mortality. But it shocked me to realize how utterly out matched he was and what a foolish thing he did by imitating Trayvon Martin, taunting and daring me to stop and engage his foolishness or run him over. He did this for effect.

Sure, in a fist fight he might well beat me up and hurt me badly or kill me, but like many who have been around awhile, I am a survivor and not stupid. I don’t look for fights and I don’t lose them by fighting anyone on even terms. The game he played (much like Trayvon) is a dangerous one where a great deal may be lost and nothing valuable may be gained and the odds were stacked so badly against him he had no idea what he was up against.

Most especially for the sake of confused hormonally addle-pated youths believing in a Black Panther myth of self-righteous racial superiority and ignorant racist payback mentality, I sincerely hope this doesn’t continue. It would be very unwise to assume it will.

I predict a rash of these retributive confrontations, more black incited violence and more deaths.

It’s too damned bad. I advise all black boys and men to wise up and look to yourself for solutions to life’s problems. You have a black president now; why hate whites for your problems?
Become self reliant and quit listening to hate mongering race-pimp blacks like Sharpton, Jackson and others. Vote for conservative people who will open opportunities to you; not offer you hate, slavery, empty freebies, and perpetual poverty.

I advise all all white boys and men to get a carry permit, carry a loaded handgun, practice using it, profile young black men in hoodies, study your fallback strategies and rules of engagement, and keep your wisest wits about you. This is a serious game of racism and hate they are playing.
You will gain no peace or safety by pretending it will simply go away.

Nice. Yeah, the kid could tell he’s a middle aged white guy while he’s driving his car and the kid’s on foot. Um… If he’s on foot and you’re in a car couldn’t you just drive away from a confrontation?

Nice use of the world “boy” as well.

  11. 18

    Michael spews:

I don’t look for fights and I don’t lose them by fighting anyone on even terms.

Which means you get in fights and it’s pretty hard to get in a fight without looking for one…

  12. 19

    Steve spews:

I get the impression that the freak got worked up and was driving around with a gun looking for a confrontation with any black in a hoodie. Of course wingnuts lie their asses off, so he might have pulled it from his ass just to talk tough on a wingnut blog.

I bolded that part about him suggesting that wingnuts get a gun and start profiling young blacks in hoodies. What are the odds that that’s exactly what he did last night? And once they’re profiled by a crazed, hate-filled wingnut, then what? Shoot them?

That wingnut is obviously consumed with hatred and fear. What a pathetic fucking way to live that must be.

  13. 20

    Michael spews:

What a pathetic fucking way to live that must be.

Yep! The world is a wonderful place and not scary in the slightest. There’s no need to tote around a gun and having that gun doesn’t make you more of a man or more powerful. It might just make you less of one because you’re afraid of every little thing that goes bump in the night.

  14. 21

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@20 Reminds me of a cartoon I saw in Playboy back in the sixties. The woman in bed says to a naked man wearing a holstered gun with his back to her and staring out the window: “All right, then, wear it to bed if it makes you feel like a man!”

  15. 22

    Roger Rabbit spews:

16 – 19: Looks like he’s just trying to see if he can get someone worked up, like a kid throwing stones at a window.

  16. 23

Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:

What a breathtakingly clueless rant – if it’s even true.
This guy is all about feeling superior carrying a gun. So clearly making up for a little dick.

And not to beat a dead horse, but it is so clearly about the writer’s deep deep racism, all the while complaining about African-American “race-pimps”

There is no educating these people, no convincing, no dialogue. We just need them to become old white guys yelling at clouds, and then die off. Unfortunately, they far too often warp their children – which is of course how they got the way they are.

This is so caricature-like, but I fear it’s written in earnest.

  17. 24

    Steve spews:

    “This is so caricature-like”

The way they have mixed the incredibly stupid with the bat-shit crazy, they’ve gone a long ways towards taking humor through caricaturization away from us. It might be for the best. I like to make fun of shit but humor doesn’t quite seem appropriate when confronted with hate such as this.

  18. 25

    Roger Rabbit spews:

The more we learn about George Zimmerman, the more he looks like a sizzling bomb waiting to go off:

“Zimmerman … was fired from a job securing illegal house parties for ‘being too aggressive,’ according to a former colleague …. ‘[I]t was like Jekyll and Hyde … he snapped … this woman was … drunk. George … picked her up and threw her.'”

“[I]n 2005, Zimmerman was involved in a bitter domestic violence incident with his ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo … she said [he] snatched her cell phone from her hand and pushed her during an argument. … Zuazo said that three years earlier, Zimmerman attacked her while the two were driving to a counseling session. Zuazo said she popped her gum in his face and he repeatedly smacked her in the face. In January 2002, she added, Zimmerman became enraged that she had come home late. They wrestled and he threw her on the bed, smacking her, according to the newspaper.”

“In September 2003, Zimmerman called police and reported that another motorist spat on him …. Zimmerman followed the man in his car …. Daniel Osmun, the other driver, told police that Zimmerman was tailgating and that he spit his gum out the window ‘out of frustration.’ Osum said that Zimmerman then pulled alongside of him, and the two argued. In a police report of the incident, Osum said ‘at one point, he thought Mr. Zimmerman was going to attack him.'”

“Some of Zimmerman’s neighbors said he had a history of being overly aggressive and followed people whom he thought appeared suspicious back to their homes. At an emergency homeowner’s association meeting on March 1, days after the killing, ‘one man was escorted out because he openly expressed his frustration because he had previously contacted the Sanford Police Department about Zimmerman approaching him and even coming to his home,’ a resident … told HuffPost. ‘It was also made known that there had been several complaints about George Zimmerman and his tactics’ in his neighborhood watch role.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: It sure looks like this guy had an out-of-control anger problem. Why the hell is someone like this allowed to carry a gun?

  19. 27

Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:

Given Obama’s embrace of Trayvon – insofar as he said “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”, or at least aligning himself with the victim – one has to assume that his people did their homework and knew ahead of time what the nature of the interaction was – who Trayvon was, and what Zimmerman’s past would show. I assume they knew a lot of stuff ahead of time that is drip drip dripping out in the media.

  20. 28

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Experts: Martin, Not Zimmerman, Screamed For Help

Two audio forensics experts who analyzed the 911 tapes, working independently, have concluded the voice screaming for help is Trayvon Martin, not George Zimmerman as the latter has claimed. This is consistent with what witnesses previously said.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Righties have strived mightily to spin this case, but accumulating forensic evidence will make liars of them all.

  21. 29

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    Guns Don’t Kill People Dep’t

“Gunfire rang out outside a Miami funeral home, killing two people and injuring 12 others, police said. … The bloodshed occurred … ‘while funeral services were taking place,’ according to … police.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: We all know guns are inert objects that don’t kill people — until people who shouldn’t have guns (see, e.g., George Zimmerman) pick them up, load them, stuff them into a waistband or jacket pocket, and then go out in public and shoot people with them.

  22. 30

    Steve spews:

This has puzzled me. As has been repeatedly reported,

“Zimmerman said he had stepped out of his truck to check the name of the street he was on when Trayvon attacked him from behind as he walked back to his truck, police said. He said he feared for his life and fired the semiautomatic handgun he was licensed to carry because he feared for his life.”

There are only three streets in the community. One is a circular drive around the perimeter. There is only one street that leads to any entrance/exit and it is a through-street the leads from one of two entrances to the other. The third street is a short connect between the perimeter and the through-street, and nowhere near the incident. After living there and having made over forty 911 calls, Zimmerman didn’t know the name of the street he was on?

If he was checking the street name and was attacked from behind on his way back to his vehicle, how did Trayvon Martin end up dead at least fifty feet away from the street?

None of this squares with any 911 call or witness report.

  23. 32

    Roger Rabbit spews:

It’s equally obvious the righties feel threatened by the potential of a vigilante murder to negatively affect public attitudes toward their laissez-faire gun policies.

  24. 33

    The 5% spews:

If Trayvon Martin’s name had been tubaman or Kris Kime, this story wouldnt be on national news – it would just be routine.

  25. 34

    Michael spews:

If Travon had a gun and a crack pipe this wouldn’t be national news. But he didn’t, he was just a kid walking home from 7-11.

If the police had properly investigated the shooting this wouldn’t be national news, but they didn’t.

If George Zimmerman had seen a kid walking home from the store, which is all Travon Martin was, and left him alone or maybe made sure he got home OK (which would also serve to make sure Travon wasn’t breaking into garages) this wouldn’t be national news.

  26. 38

    The 5% spews:

so now you are saying the coverage is equal..LOL

Hey,. were was teh good reverend al sharpton(you, zots’ hero) when tubadude was killed?

oh wait, reverend al only comes out of his cave when he smells publicity and cash.

im sure good ole al sharpton is one of your lefty heroes…

you can go play dick-slap with someone else, I have better shit to do..probably something involving glubull worming – go damn I love carbon emissions…

  27. 40

Mr. fifty dollar plus an hour somehow couldn’t find something better to do with 69 minutes of his miserable racist life than troll HA..

  28. 42

    Roger Rabbit spews:

John Bolton, one of the GOP’s most prominent Prussian-style militarists and warmongers, is at it again — he can’t wait to start another war:

“Unlike the prelude to the Iraq war, when many critics accused Bush White House officials of cherry-picking the intelligence to conform to their policy, some outside analysts say they do not see evidence of the Obama administration pushing intelligence officials to come up with predetermined answers.

“But some conservatives who support more aggressive action to prevent Iran from gaining a nuclear weapon argue that the CIA’s restraint has, in fact, been influenced by political pressure exerted by the Obama administration.

“President Obama has said he would use military force only as a last resort against Iran, and conservatives argue that the Obama administration does not want the intelligence community to produce any reports suggesting the Iranians are moving swiftly to build a bomb.

“‘[T]here is top-down pressure to make the assessments come out a certain way,’ said John Bolton, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute ….”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Basically this is an article about how the CIA and other intelligence agencies now have safeguards to help prevent a repetition of the Iraq WMD debacle. Why the article bothers to quote a jerk like Bolton is hard to say, because he has nothing to say that’s worth reading. If you want to know what he thinks, go read up on Bismarck, Moltke, and those guys. As for me, I’m glad we now have a president who isn’t looking for an excuse to start a war. Bolton is one of the best arguments I can think of why no Republican should ever be elected president again in Bolton’s lifetime, because the world (and our nation) will be a lot safer if Bolton stays ensconced in his think tank and never again holds any position or office in which he can influence American policy.

  29. 43

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    Vigilante A Cop-Wannabe?

We’re now being told the vigilante who killed a black teenager in Florida took police courses at Sanford’s community college.

“Zimmerman, a married insurance underwriter who studied criminal justice at Seminole State College, told police that Trayvon approached him from behind as he was returning to his car.”

  30. 44

    Roger Rabbit spews:

We’re also now being told that Zimmerman is 5’9″, not 5’7″, and that he weighed 160 lbs. to Martin’s 150 lbs. (Same link.)

  31. 45

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    GOP Spurns Iraq War Hero

Party loyalty gets you nothing in the GOP if you’re not a rigid ideological conformists.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: At least the GOP isn’t shooting independent thinkers yet, like Stalin did, but that’s probably coming at some point.

  32. 46

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Hmmm, you know those t-shirt ads with the fake bloody t-shirt? I wonder if that gal just came home from a date with George Zimmerman …

  33. 47

    Roger Rabbit spews:

How The NRA Is Endangering Your Life

By making it easier for unstable people to carry guns, and making it harder to prosecute them, the NRA is pushing laws that literally give deranged people like George Zimmerman a legal license to kill you.

George Zimmerman wasn’t the first Floridian to gun down a neighbor; the law that shielded him from arrest has been invoked 130 times since Jeb Bush since it in 2005.

  34. 48

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    How Bad Is Europe’s Austerity?

Conservatives love austerity. They think a country can prosper by cutting wages and laying off workers. Here’s what Spain is like today:

68% of Spain’s young people plan to emigrate to find work
49% of Spaniards under age 25 are unemployed
23% of all Spanish workers are unemployed

It isn’t about education. Spain now has its best-educated generation ever. This is what happens when an economy is run by ideological fanatics.

  35. 49

    Roger Rabbit spews:

An elite group of Wall Street stock flipping firms are paying for a new $300,000,000 New York-to-London undersea fiberoptic cable because it can transmit trades 5/1000ths of a second faster than the old cable.

In the U.S., 155 construction crews laid a new 825-mile underground cable between New York and Chicago to shave 3/1000ths of a second off the time it takes to transmit trades.

Today 55% of all stock and bond trades are made by supercomputers using trading algorithms and private cable networks like these to wring every last penny possible out of the financial markets.

Apparently it’s worth it to them, but where does that leave the rest of us?

Roger Rabbit Commentary: This is subjective, but I feel it’s harder to make money in stocks now than it was in the 80s and 90s.

  36. 50

    Roger Rabbit spews:

A Business Week legal correspondent predicts SCOTUS will uphold Obamacare by an 8-1 vote with only Clarence Thomas dissenting. Here’s why.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Bottom line, the only Supreme Court vote that could strike down Obamacare would be a blatantly partisan one that would damage the court’s reputation and undercut numerous precedents created by the conservative majority. BW‘s veteran court-watcher doesn’t think the conservative justices are willing to pay that price.

Another potential consequence of SCOTUS trashing Obamacare: Many savvy political observers think it would make single-payer inevitable. After all, Medicare has been in effect since 1965, its constitutionality firmly established, and if Obamacare falls its logical replacement is to extend Medicare to everyone.

So, if the rightwing legal attack on Obamacare succeeds, we may get single-payer after all. Therefore, shouldn’t liberals be rooting for a SCOTUS decision in favor of Obamacare’s opponents? After all, Obamacare fell far short of what our side wanted, and a legal defeat now looks like the shortest path to the health care reform that liberals wanted all along.

  37. 51

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Oil prices are rising because of sanctions against Iran. The next time you hear a Republican complaining about gas prices, ask him why he supports Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
