    Although the USA Today Sports article I posted in the previous comment thread (which no longer goes direct to the article but you can use shitty ass google and search for it) didn’t come out and say where specifically the test kits came from, it didn’t confirm Bob’s amazing intelligence that they didn’t come from the CDC. But it appears that they did.

    The Utah Jazz were Super Duper Spreaders. The CDC rules don’t apply to Super Duper people.

    Rishi Desai is the chief medical officer and pediatric infectious disease physician for Osmosis, a digital platform for learning medicine and the health sciences. He also used to work for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an epidemic intelligence service officer investigating disease outbreaks.

    He understands Oklahoma’s decision to test who it did. He called athletes, team personnel and traveling reporters “super spreaders,” people who are often in direct contact with several other people especially in arenas with thousands of people.

    “It makes perfect sense that if you have a good relationship with a local medical university or hospital that you would be able to easily coordinate getting team personnel tested,” Desai said. “That would require logistics and operations and all the things basketball teams do because they’re well-resourced and have gotten really good at it. One part of this is that they have connections. Another is that they have the logistical muscle to get things like this done. It shows.”

    All human beings are equally able to spread coronavirus.

    Until such time as test kits are widely available, anybody who has been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive should immediately self-quarantine until such time as they can be tested. The only people who should be considered for exemption from that directive are front line healthcare workers whose jobs put them in direct contact and who are needed to respond to the pandemic.
    They alone are the only group of citizens entitled to priority for testing.

    NBA players can simply go home and stay there.
    That quote from that self-proclaimed expert is not only completely untrue about the nature of the risks, it is dangerously irresponsible. In the absence of clear communication and guidance from the CDC, state and local health officials have absolutely no business playing cowboy with this shit. Young, healthy persons not involved in medical response to the crisis and who are easily capable of self-quarantine are not a priority for testing. Saying so could get people killed.

    Assuming the girl was ill when the woman began trying to get her tested and assuming it took a day or two between the beginning of the woman’s testing efforts and the FB post, the incubation period of the girl’s symptoms would not have been sufficient to be related to the girl’s contact with Gobert.

    Not everyone who thinks they should be tested needs to be tested, gman. The test kids are still in short supply, facts are stubborn things, and there are way too many worried well out there.

    Correlation does not equal causation. gman, if you develop a fever and a sore throat, it isn’t coronavirus I’d think of first. I’m sure that given your history of risk-taking I need not elaborate further.
