    The County I now reside is full of people who will argue to the point of violence that “Darwinism” is only just a theory and can’t be taken seriously because Jesus never talked about it in the Modern American Abridged Bible.

    It also seems to have a rather disconcerting number of people who think that Bellingham is the Big City and it’s full of faggots and Mexican Gangsters, so they never go there unless it’s to visit the Mall or something. A substantial percentage of those folks never leave the County except when it’s to join the Marine Corps or the Army, and the Army is just where the pussies who can’t hack the Marines go.

    Y’know, when people spend their lives obsessing over other peoples sexual proclivities, it certainly creates room to question why this is so. Seems to me that every time one hears about a “pro-life” and “pro-family values” Conservative, they’re all about telling other people to not do the shit they always seem to be doing themselves. They don’t want anyone but themselves to be sheltered from being held accountable to the Law or even the basic unwritten rules about how shit works. Morality and ethics are what they want to be able to tell other people what to do, how they conduct themselves is a different matter and none of anyone else’s business.

    Of course, to a Christian Conservative, rape isn’t even a crime that is answerable to the Law. Even when it’s about a little kid. Females have no rights, nor do they have the intellectual ability to be allowed to make decisions for themselves.

    They’re like the dumbfucks I’ve worked with many times over the years. Guys who seems to have supervisory authority over other workers, but just don’t have the fucking brains to do anything but yell at people when folks are doing shit that they cannot and will not put any effort into understanding. I’ve worked with guys who have never heard of an optical comparator, or freak out when one turns the compound to -29 degrees when cutting an internal thread. I once asked a man why the X on a digital readout retrofitted onto a manual lathe was actually reading on the Z, and the Z was working on the Y readout. A lathe has two basic axis, X and Z. There is no Y. Pointing that out in casual conversation to an asshole supervisor is something that just pisses them right the fuck off.

    And you know what? Damn near every single one of those pricks has been a die-hard, right-wing Conservative.

    She actually won a majority of the popular vote, and in the state of New York, where people know both her and her opponent very well, she beat him easily.     Saturday, the ferry Walla Walla broke down, reducing the Bremerton run to one boat. It was running in time for the 4:20pm sailing from Bremerton. Ironically, the 144 car MV Chimicum was tied up at Slip 2in Colman Dock. Unfortunately, the newest Olympic class ferry has not finished sea trials and no trained crew yet. Also, Kitsap Transit does not have their Bremerton-Seattle foot ferry up and running, yet.
