Seems a judge told the longshoremen, in short, “Stop wasting my time.”
As the Memorandum of Understanding is not yet a binding deal and one of the things that could cause either party to walk from the deal is a to-be-completed environmental review, the Longshoremen are being stupid about filing suit over the arena agreement not having considered environmental impact. Nice try but a law student could have told you that over coffee for far less than your attorney’s charged.

Did you know Sen. Chuck Hagel got campaign donations from a group calling itself “Friends of Hamas”? Neither did anyone else until Ben Shapiro (who works for Breitbart.com, not exactly the world’s most reliable source) broke the “story.” A few minutes of work by a real journalist proved the group never existed, except in the overheated imaginations of rightwing propagandists (see, e.g., Ben Shapiro of the world’s not-most-reliable source).

Roger Rabbit Commentaries: Have you figured out yet that rightwing propagandists are pathological liars? That absolutely nothing they say is true? I mean, I’m a propagandist too, but there’s a big difference between men and them: I take pains to stick with true facts, while they peddle fantasies so bizarre they’re ruining the good names of reputable propagandists everywhere. Sheesh. They should be drummed out of the corps.

I don’t see why this guy Hagel is such a big deal with the Republicans. After all, the guy was actually in the military, and a lot of Republicans never served a day due to draft deferments and “bad” knees. Maybe that’s what they’re mad about – Hagel has credibility when it comes to actual military service.

Hagel has credibility when it comes to actual military service.
So does Bradley Manning.
Credibility comes in handy when it suits liberal talking points. Other times, military service isn’t so popular with them. Recall what Wesley clark had to say about McCain in 2008:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITI.....rk.mccain/
Recall things said about McCain that same year by Harkin (who has a personal record that should have made him think before speaking) and Rockefeller.
Boiling it down, the GOP sees Hagel as another Republican willing to give cover to Obama’s efforts to dismantle military programs they believe are worthwhile.
Hagel acts as Obama’s puppet, Obama gets to say ‘Hey, it was his decision and he’s a member of the Republican Party.’
It’s been trendy for presidents to appoint someone from the opposite party to a Cabinet post or other high-level position. Presidents from both parties have done it.
It would be interesting, after Obama’s term ends, to see Judd Gregg interviewed about the Commerce position he agreed to take, before figuring out what The One had planned for him and changing his mind about it.

This paragraph, or part of it, is trending heavily on the right-wing side of the ‘sphere today:
“The good news is, the world doesn’t end March 2. The bad news is, the world doesn’t end March 2,” said Emily Holubowich, a Washington health-care lobbyist who leads a coalition of 3,000 nonprofit groups fighting the cuts. “The worst-case scenario for us is the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens. And Republicans say: See, that wasn’t so bad.”

I have no idea how this will turn out in the next several days, but I would point out that there aren’t a whole lot of big names, on either side of the debate, on the Sunday shows:

It’s so much easier to be a war monger if YOUR kid has no chance of being sent to the fighting.
