Trump may have near-total control of the Republican Party, but it’s a party of lightweights. As ex-RNC chair Michael Steele points out,

Many high-profile Republicans are sitting on the sidelines. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and former New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu both declined to run for Senate, despite pleas from their party. …

“They don’t want Donald Trump anywhere near anything they’re touching, because their ambitions go beyond 2026,” he said.

“Oklahoma plans to screen teachers from New York and California applying to work in the state with a new test to determine their views on a range of topics regarding their political ideology.”

    It’s a nothingburger.

Avg. teacher pay in California: $101,804
Avg. teacher pay in New York: $95,615
Avg. teacher pay in Oklahoma: $61,330

Number of California and New York teachers applying for teaching jobs in Oklahoma: De minimis. This gambit is just Oklahoma superintendent Ryan Walters trying to divert attention from his pornography scandal.

General Anthony McAuliffe, defender of Bastogne, on 22 December 1944, replying to German surrender demand: “Nuts!”

Ex-Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), on 19 August 2025, replying to Trump calling himself a “war hero” on conservative radio: “This is nuts!”

The main thing to note is Kinzinger used three times as many words as McAuliffe to convey the same idea. Politicians talk a lot; generals don’t.

You do know, don’t you, that China’s Great Wall did not, could not, and was not designed to keep the Mongols out? It kept their horses out.

Walls just don’t work well to stop human border crossings, but I guess Trump doesn’t know that, because he doesn’t read history and is an ignorant fuck

All the Chinese achieved by their herculean efforts building a vast border wall was to make invaders to fight on foot like they had to. The Mongols took over northern China anyway.

HA Commenting Policy

It may be hard to believe from the vile nature of the threads, but yes, we have a commenting policy.
