Drinking Liberally — Seattle

by Darryl — Tuesday, 7/22/25, 4:33 pm

DLBottle

Ballots have dropped in Washington state. Have questions? Bring them to tonight’s edition of the Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally. We may not have the answers (because…you know, enigmas never age), but we’ll have fun discussing the options.

We meet tonight and every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern, 2409 10th Ave E, Seattle. You’ll find us out on the back patio. We start at 8:00pm.

Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place…if you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, stop by another chapter near you.

Noticed the Torchlight Parade is moved to Alaskan Way, and even better, back to its traditional start time. Potentially ruining the weekend for West Seattle residents.

If a detour for a parade ruins your weekend your skin is pretty thin.

So yeah, a buncha whiny liberal pussies are going to twist panties over a silly parade. Fuck ’em.

On NPR a few minutes ago the National Urban League’s top dog claimed that DEI has benefitted thousands of white women and thousands of people of Asian heritage.

That’s just why Harvard’s admissions policy was taken to court, and appealed all the way to SCOTUS. Because Asian-heritage students at Harvard looked around their campus and realized that there were just too many people who looked like themselves.

Canadian National wanting to end their lease of some of BC Rail. Not much freight moving North Vancouver-Prince George lately, but when the Campbell-Clark BC Liberals Government made the deal, the BC Crown Corporation was a big financial drain. Had tax losses that they through in to sweeten the deal. One of tge original purposes was for economic development of the province under Benett’s SoCreds. One uncompleted branch from that time, Dease Lake Subdivision, would have been very interesting if completed, all the way to Alaska.

GWB43 was far funnier than Al Gore would have been.

I’ve thought of one of my favorite George W. Bush moments. He’s at the 2002 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, also attended by Ozzy Osbourne. The latter points to his very funky tresses and says, “Mr. President, you should wear your hair like mine!” Bush responds, “Second term, Ozzy, second term.”

Leave it to Democrats to nominate the unlikable John Kerry, thereby ensuring Dubya’s second term.

More for liberals to whine about, even as they salivate over how to spend the additional dollars that will flow into the US Treasury.

Has an AG of the US ever been disbarred while in office spews:

    Tuesday, 7/22/25 at 8:51 pm

Well, that’s cool and totally constitutional.

Alina Habba is statutory barred from continuing in her ‘actiing’ position after Friday. The statute indicates that should the DOJ refuse to appoint a new acting prosecutor or get the current acting prosecutor confirmed by Congress a panel of judges within the circuit must appoint a replacement. This is precisely what they did yesterday.

So what did Pam Bondi do today? She fired the US attorney that the panel picked apparently under the impression that that will allow Ms. Habba to continue her duties. Go back to the previous paragraph and she is statutory barred from continuing in the position.

So it looks like the Attorney General is willing to violate all kinds of legal president statutory requirements, and I guess fire every single person that the judges panel picks because the bottom line is Alina Hanba cannot continue serving after Friday in the position she currently holds.

Imagine going to bat for the attorney who aided in your boss getting convicted? It’s not like she’s going to war for Robert Kardashian or Johnny Cochran. This is over a wildly incompetent person.

Well Joe Biden had gas down to $2.69/gallon for a fleeting moment, around Q2/Q3 2024. Last couple of weeks ago it was higher than the current $3.05/gallon in my area.

Gas is more expensive for today than before the election.

And I have the best numbers I’ve ever had. You know, it’s amazing, I watch people on television, “Well, what about Donald Trump’s polling numbers?” Yeah, they’re the best numbers I’ve ever had.

And with this made-up hoax that they’re talking about, my numbers have gone up four and five points.

Well then they should be in session to release the files.

The polling average is DOWN two points last seven days.

All right, which one of you interns is Photoshopping a fake poll for him to look at?

He’s the most accomplished first term president in four decades with the appropriate sense of pride and wisdom to match.
Trump cheated his way through life and was convicted for it.
His greatest life accomplishments have been the rapes he got away with because of being a reality television celebrity.

So CNN. You’re saying you were in the tank for Trump from 2019-2025 and are just now getting around to looking at your archival?

Something about biased liberal fake news media.

    CNN
    —
Newly uncovered archived video footage and photos reveal fresh details about Donald Trump’s past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Photos from 1993 confirm for the first time* that Epstein attended Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples. Epstein’s attendance at the ceremony at the Plaza Hotel was not widely known until now.

In addition, footage from a 1999 Victoria’s Secret fashion event in New York shows Trump and Epstein laughing and chatting together ahead of the runway event. CNN’s KFile uncovered the raw footage during a review of archival video of Trump at events in the 1990s and 2000s. Trump and Epstein appeared together in at least one video among the limited archival footage reviewed.

    It’s not going away.
