The Seattle Chapter of Drinking Liberally meets this evening for conversation over a cocktail. Got something to say? Then stop by.
The Seattle chapter of DL meets every Tuesday at the Roanoke Park Place Tavern (2409 10th Ave E, Seattle) starting at 8pm out on the back patio.
Chapters of Living Liberally are all over the place. If you can’t make it to the Seattle chapter, find a chapter near you.
Dan Crenshaw:
“The arguments that our side is making is very depressing and they are almost pro-Russia. People are saying, ‘We can’t put baby formula on our shelves but we are sending money to Ukrainians?’ My response to that is, do you know how much baby formula you can buy with $40 billion? None, because it is not a money issue, it is a manufacturing issue.”
Tucker shitforbrains Carlson:
“The more I think about it, it takes a lot of gall for Eyepatch McCain to attack moms who are worried about baby formula as quote ‘pro-Russia,’ I mean that’s probably one of the most outrageous things I’ve ever heard … now that I’m thinking about it. I mean why not just answer the question? Why, why the attacks? What does that tell you?”
“Eyepatch McCain”… Wow.. from the guy who gave kreepshit the Menendez fucking fantasy.. (heh.. Menendez is still serving.)
Ol’ replacement theory Tucker shitforbrains making fun of a klownservatic veteran’s war wound.. heh.
@1 btw, tuckems shitferbrains expelled that fart while interviewing Tulsi “Ukrainian bio labs” Gabbard.
heh. the fake, phony, fraudulent electors of Wisconsin, lickbutts to the likes of low life scotty walker and orange dear leader..

Early returns indicate Cawthorn will be a one-term congressman.
Well, the North Carolina CD-11 race has tightened, but with 99% of the votes counted Cawthorn is more than 1,500 votes behind, so it looks like he’s done.
In Pennsylvania, with 74% of the vote in, Oz trails McCormick by about 7,800 votes, and Barnette is way behind. But Mastriano won the GOP nom for governor.

Maga spoils maga and greed wins the day…
A repuke story…
@6 If he loses, good riddance to him.
@9 He just conceded.
Sitler has conceded.
Trump still has not.
The PA Senate GOP primary is very close, but Oz would have to get half the remaining votes to pull ahead, and he and McCormick are both getting about 31%. The race is easily within recount territory, but McCormick probably will be Fetterman’s opponent in November.
@9 He just conceded.
Without shooting anybody, I hope. What a piece of work that asswipe traitor is.
What are the odds that in Pennsylvania that there will be accusations by Republican against Republican of a stolen election, and that the winner is secretly a commie Democrat?
14)Will be entertaining. Especially if the nomination comes down to, mail in ballots.
Of more concern is the fact that Pennsylvania’s governor appoints the secretary of state, who certifies elections, and the GOP nominee has openly said Biden electors won’t be certified in 2024.

He’s also a Christian nationalist who doesn’t respect separation of church and state, a QAnon conspiracy theorist, and a Covid denier. Democrats stupidly spent money on ads promoting his candidacy, thinking he’ll be a pushover in November. What if he isn’t?
What if he isn’t?
A low IQ traitor will show up crowing about how the end of democracy in America is nigh.
With that, I will be on my way to Whidbey to see to it that the treasonous bastard doesn’t witness his wetdream come true.
Pervs. All of them. As I first said here in 2007, these people fuck goats.
Bestselling author Don Winslow explained where he thinks Cawthorn went wrong.
“I warned you: Never, ever, EVER talk about Republican members of Congress and their drug fueled orgies. You can attack America and you can lie, cheat, steal, and assault people – but never talk about those drug fueled orgies,” he wrote. “They will come after you!”
All in all, it wasn’t a bad night. Cawthorn lost. So did Barnette, and McGeachin was crushed. The only really dark spot was Mastriano. We must hope November takes care of him.
“LONDON — U.K. inflation soared to a 40-year high of 9% in April as food and energy prices spiraled, official figures revealed Wednesday, escalating the country’s cost-of-living crisis.”

It’s Biden’s fault!
16,
“Democrats stupidly spent money on ads promoting his candidacy…”
No sure things in politics. But considering the turnout numbers and the fact that long time Republican experts in Pennsylvania statewide races consider Mastriano “unelectable”, it might not have been stupid at all.
A toxic human ashtray on the GOP side of the November ballot can suppress turnout among the red-leaning white suburban soccer moms who voted for Trump and later regretted it. Trump barely won Pennsylvania in 2016, winning white women 50% to 47% over Clinton. In 2020 Biden won white women in PA by double digits.
“Suburban women, will you please like me?” Trump bellowed into a crowd in Johnstown, a small city east of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. “Please. I saved your damn neighborhood, okay?”
Voter file data now indicates that the swing in numbers came from two changes. First, as mentioned in the Politico piece nearly all of the D white women who voted for Trump in 2016 came back to the party in 2020, where they are expected to stay. But they only make a difference if they turn out. And we know a lot of them don’t show up in midterms. The other change in 2020 was R white women who stayed home, or undervoted, rather than cast another ballot for Trump.
So in a statewide November midterm in which the statehouse and an open U.S. Senate seat are at stake, turnout is a decisive factor. Mastriano comes from turnout central casting. He is 100% total abortion ban, STOP THE STEAL, JOO SPACE LASER crazy. He will be a huge embarrassment to the Pennsylvania GOP this summer. His name at the top of the ballot in November could help put John Fetterman in the U.S. Senate.
They don’t call him Cocaine Mitch for nothing.

Maybe not quite that last part. But I don’t know who the guy is yet and, to be honest about it, I’m afraid to look. The GOP should have learned from Sharron Angle. And certainly from Todd Akin.
@ 21, 23
To be fair, voters gave an absolutely abominable candidate the Democrat nomination that you, too.
“Holy guacamole, we knew she was an unlikable, corrupt cunt, but we didn’t know she smelled that bad.”
File that last bit under Stuff Steve Has Thought For Years But Still Cannot Bring Himself To Admit.
Fuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk.
Humble kid given his impressive results in the race. He’ll be fun to watch, hopefully in the ’22 TdF and World Championships.
Democrat billionaire tries to buy a House race.
Despite $11 million in donations from a crypto billionaire, Carrick Flynn loses big in Oregon primary
It’s a D+7 district and in a typical year it should be plenty for Democrats to retain the seat.
Of course, this is not a typical year.
My one thought is that if this turns out to be a close race in the Fall, it would have been useful to have a Democrat billionaire bankrolling it. Who knows? Maybe he still will.
Bob is a racist and a bigot…..Never Forget!
A bit more from the second link @ 26:
Redistricting decisions by Democrats in states like NY and NV could end up fucking them in the ass this Fall.
Degen is afraid to look because he’s a Republican.
They’ve been afraid to look at least since their nominee proudly admitted that he’d bragged to a busload of complete strangers about his history of getting away with sexual assault.
A complete unwillingness to examine their own deplorable descent into white nationalism, bigotry, superstition, authoritarianism and paranoia is a defining characteristic of Republicans. They are beyond the Orange Event Horizon. Information is not available to them.
All Democrats, and especially independents have got to get it through their heads that “waiting for the pivot” is futile. You will wait for the rest of your life for a “better Republican“, and you will die waiting. The past is gone. We are borne forever forward into an unknown future. But the trajectory of Republicans was set decades ago when Newt Gingrich transformed the Speakership into a full time national political position, like some sort of helmet-haired Hype-Man distracting the audience so the pickpockets can do their work.
There is no pivot.
For the rest of us who have escaped their fate, whatever speeds their fall is better. Mastriano is the future of the Republican Party here today. He will personally put a no-exceptions abortion ban bill on Governor Wolf’s desk to veto this summer. And in doing so he will put blood-covered coat hangers, xtian white nationalism, and Q on the Pennsylvania fall ballot. Sooner is better, I say.
This is who Republicans are.
@ 29
Degen is afraid to look because he’s a Republican.
Democrats didn’t look very hard at Andrew Gillum, did they?
Democrats didn’t look very hard at Katie Hill, did they?
Democrats didn’t look very hard at what Andrew Cuomo was doing during the early days of the pandemic in NY state, did they?
Democrats didn’t look very hard at the “security review” Hillary underwent during the primary months of 2016, did they?
Shit stinks, QoS McHillbilly, even if it comes from a Democrat’s anus.
Democrats didn’t look very hard at Nina Jankowicz.
Did they.
Today’s WaPo:
File under “Republicans pounced”.
One way it may be atypical is in polling.
Polls in midterms are historically not good in all cycles. Voter information and awareness is low. For a long time studies have indicated that when voter information and awareness is low their responses to survey questions lose their predictive value and become more uncertain.
Compounding this is that since 2016 polling among all voters, but certainly among registered or self-identifying “Republican” and “independent” voters has been getting worse and worse. Big survey firms keep testing different methods and weighting to improve. But so far nothing seems to help much.
Now consider that in GOPac funded surveys Madison Cawthorn was leading by 26% over his nearest rival in a very crowded party primary in March. One month later he was still well ahead by 17% points. So some things changed.
But if you follow polls enough you know that 17 points of movement in four weeks is suspicious. Cawthorn hurt himself. And the GOP leadership undoubtedly went after him and spent money to take him out. But if oppo and attack ad spending could produce seventeen points of response in the final four weeks of House campaigns, then that is all you would ever see in any campaign. Full stop. If embarrassing “hump” videos and attack ads could predictably produce that kind of voter response then it would be 24/7 non-stop humping.
So what’s going on? Survey respondents are lying. And they are lying in ways that are simultaneously biased, and discomforting to researchers. In this case a whole great big shit ton of Republican primary voters in NC 11 lied to pollsters about their support for Rep. Cawthorn. And we’ve seen similar indications in other races, particularly involving Republican candidates.
File that last bit under Stuff Steve Has Thought For Years But Still Cannot Bring Himself To Admit.
Admit to what? Being a dickless cunt like you? No, I’m not like you.
File under “Republicans pounced”.
You might want to stop calling yourselves Republicans. Try American Fascist Party on for size. You’ll find it a perfect fit. Then after we kill all of you, you’ll then be the American Dead Fascist Party.
Shit stinks, QoS McHillbilly
Finally took a whiff of yourself, huh? Yeah, you fascist traitors all stink of shit.
Redistricting decisions by Democrats in states like NY and NV could end up fucking them in the ass this Fall.

Glad I could help.
My one thought
You finally had a thought generated in that empty skull of yours? Nah, that’s just more shit pulled from your ass.
I don’t know who the guy is yet and, to be honest about it, I’m afraid to look.
Because it’s like seeing yourself in the mirror?
They don’t call him Cocaine Mitch for nothing.
You mean like you’re not called a fascist traitor for nothing?
Bob is a racist and a bigot…..Never Forget!
You forgot and left out “and a fascist traitor”. That’s okay. I’ve also made that mistake a number of times.
Marjorie Taylor Greene tells women that abortions won’t make men love them
A man whipping out his dick in front of teen girls won her love. She should start and advice column and try to become 21st Century version of a fascist Ann Landers.
If you see a man exposing himself to teen girls, don’t ever let him go. He’s the man you’ve been looking for.
“Texas’ grid operator told a power plant to delay repairs ahead of a May heat wave — it was among six that crashed”
Damn. I’ll leave that one alone. I’d probably just open the door to a radiologist who knows more about law than attorneys and judges so he can remind me that he knows more about grids than an electrical engineer. I’d feel so sad.
