We meet at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue E. Starting time is 8:00 pm, but some folks will show up earlier for dinner.

Here’s what you need to know about Iowa:

History Lesson

Those Ron Paul racist newsletters weren’t something that was done by rogue campaign staffers. Twenty years ago, the Libertarian Party tried to grow its voting base by making common cause with the Neo-Nazis and other far-right crazies. And Ron Paul was their presidential candidate.

This is some gripping TV.

That’s a joke, btw.

I was in Portland and dial spinning the AM dial. I heard one radio preacher arguing that fossils do not exist and marco polo did drawings of dinosaurs and they broke open a T-Rex bone and found live bone marrow so it couldn’t be millions of years old. The reason you don’t know about all of this because of the Evolution Mafia.
This is clearly a stegosaurus

Next a conservative talker was relentless bashing Obama through the lens of reality shows.
In saint reagan times, we had Life styles of the Rich and Famous and it was great that it glorified the 1%.
In Clinton times, in his opinion, it was all fluff and distraction so Entertainment Tonight was the top reality show, which was Clinton’s fault.
In Bush the 2nd time, It was all about risk and challenge and confrontation so it was reality shows like Survivor and even TV Gambling shows, reflecting the leadership of bush.
So naturally, because Pawn shows, Coupon shows and the reality shows of the toothless alligator hunters in the south are popular, it’s all about barely surviving and this is of course, Obama’s fault and shows how Obama is a failure.
Conservative talkers are relentless in their hatred of Obama.

Wisconsin Update – It’s Recall Foes Signing ‘Adolf Hitler’

“One group asking registered voters to sign false names to the petitions is one actually against the recall: Mines For Wisconsin, a Milwaukee-based group that opposes unions and supports a pending mining bill that relaxes environmental standards for mining in the state.

“The group, which is open in saying it is trying to torpedo the recall, is asking people to sign ‘Adolf Hitler’ to the petitions. In fliers circulating the state, the group tells people ‘it is not illegal to sign ‘Adolf Hitler’ on a petition. Hitler was willing to destroy Germany in order to get his ideals in place. This is similar to what the recall people are doing in Wisconsin.’ …

“The Government Accountability Board is asking the Milwaukee County District Attorney to investigate the group’s efforts. On the group’s voicemail, a person suggests that the proposed investigation would violate their free speech rights.”

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/2011/1227/Wisconsin-recall-Should-taxpayers-pay-extra-to-verify-petition-signatures

Roger Rabbit Commentary: These guys probably think walking into a bank, pointing a gun at a teller, and saying “Give me all your money” is free speech, too, and therefore shouldn’t be investigated by the police or district attorney.

10. Roger Rabbit spews:

Now you know where the “Adolf Hitler,” “Mickey Mouse,” etc. signatures are coming from — Walker supporters, of course. (Did you ever imagine otherwise?) To these people, there’s no such thing as right or wrong; but unfortunately for them, what they’re doing is against the law, and if they get could they’re looking at possible felony convictions and jail time.

11. Roger Rabbit spews:

And, of course, Gov. Walker is hooting and suing about the “Adolf Hitler” signatures on recall petitions. If he has a problem with them, maybe he should talk with his supporters about that issue.

12. Blue John spews:

I think they are very creative in their ways to relentlessly link anything bad with obama.

13. Michael spews:

I am, actually, kinda glued to the live feed of North Korean TV.

14. Roger Rabbit spews:

typo @10 “caught” not “could”

15. Roger Rabbit spews:

@13 That hearse sure as hell looks like a U.S.-made Cadillac — unless it’s a cheap Chinese knockoff.

16. Roger Rabbit spews:

Oh, here’s the caption under the live-feed:

“Crowds flock to the central Kim Il Sung Square to pay their last respects to the late leader, with mourners of both sexes and all ages united in grief at the untimely death of Kim Jong-il, who died of “fatigue and over-work” at the age of 69.”

Ya gotta admit, those guys can be funny when they really put their minds to it.

17. Blue John spews:

@10. It’s not hurting their tribe, so it’s acceptable.

18. Michael spews:

@15
I saw a fleet of mercedes benz’s earlier.

19. Roger Rabbit spews:

No doubt the outpouring of grief is genuine — now they have to take orders from a kid.

20. Michael spews:

It was pretty funny earlier. They were showing crowd scenes and Every now and then the cameras would cut to a group of “mourners” before they’d gotten their cue to start mourning, there be this crowd all standing around looking bored and then they’d all break into tears together and start wailing.

21. Roger Rabbit spews:

Pretty sharp-looking marching drill, for whatever that’s worth.

22. Blue John spews:

I heard that the people who didn’t wail and prostate them before the statues in grief, were noted, and punished for not being properly distraught.

23. Michael spews:

The funeral procession, which began and ended at Kumsusan Memorial Palace, where Kim’s body had lain in state and where his father, North Korean founder Kim Il Sung, is preserved, passed by huge crowds of mourners, most of them standing in the snow with their heads bare, many screaming and flailing their arms as soldiers struggled to keep them from spilling onto the road.
“How can the sky not cry?” a weeping soldier standing in the snow said to state TV. “The people … are all crying tears of blood.”
The scenes of grief provide a clue at how effective North Korea has been in building a personality cult around Kim Jong Il even though people have suffered greatly from food shortages and the United Nations and others cite a lack of human rights. The North’s neighbors and the United States are also pressing Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

WTF???

I was watching a feed of North Korean state TV with friends and we all thought it looked faked.

Now Owebammmma wants to raise the debt limit to 16.4 Trillion. My there is no end to the debt this idiot will rack up on the children’s behalf

25. Roger Rabbit spews:

@24 So? Every president since time immemorial has raised the debt ceiling, including all of your Republican saints. This is a nonissue.

Oh, and speaking of idiots, Clinton was the only modern president to balance the budget and about half of the total national debt accumulated over the last 235 years is attributable to one George W. Bush, Republican. You know, the guy who borrowed a trillion dollars from our Chinese adversaries to underwrite massive tax cuts for the filthy-rich.

Son, if you want an issue, you’d better look for another one, because this one makes you look like a fool.

28. MikeBoyScout spews:

@24 yd,

Surely your heroes in the House of Representatives will oppose the president’s request, right?

After all the hullabaloo in August the House Republicans will not simply remain on vacation now in this time of debt crisis and let the president’s request fly unopposed, right?

I mean, Boehner’s use of unanimous consent while the House Republicans were on vacation last week when obviously consent was not unanimous was an anomaly, right?

29. Mookie Blaylock spews:

@7

yep, those are some nutty ass people on the radio.

But lets be honest, the left has its kooks too.

Conservative talkers are relentless in their hatred of Obama.

The exact same thing could be said about progressive talkers and President Bush….8 years of constant bashing – sometimes legit, most of the time just BS.
Its no different now: sometimes its legit, but most of time just silly nonsense.

The real fools are those that listen to the idiocy day in and day out. Similar to those who get their “news” from reading blogs and far left/right websites all day long.

30. Mookie Blaylock spews:

@25

and who controlled congress when Clinton was president?

and which political entity actually makes the federal budget…could it be congress? oh my..

silly rabbit, tricks are for blind old partisans.

31. Mookie Blaylock spews:

Michael,

north korea is the worlds best zoo exhibit.

it would be a shame if that place ever went normal…

question is: who is the worlds best golfer now?

32. MikeBoyScout spews:

@30,

What balanced the budget during the Clinton administration was the 1993 budget which passed a Democratically controlled congress without a single Republican vote.

Take away the revenue/tax increases in that budget and you have exactly the result of the GWB budgets – deficits as far as the eye can see.

Thanks for playing.

33. rhp6033 spews:

@24 So? Every president since time immemorial has raised the debt ceiling, including all of your Republican saints. This is a nonissue.

Ohhhh Roger DOPEY Rabbit… Some time ago you put forth a link displaying Bush deficit when he left of $10.6 Trillion. Now ObamAA+ wants to raise it to 16.4 Trillion? 5.8 Trillion in less that 4 years. That’s about the total debt Bush raised in 8 years

47. Puddybud spews:

The Bush administration gave sanctuary to this brutal killer, but the Obama administration is having none of it: She’s been shipped back to Bosnia to face war crimes charges.

More BULLSHITTIUM from Roger DOPEY Rabbit.

A U.S. magistrate judge ruled that Rasema Handanovic, 39, who moved to the United States in 1996 and became a naturalized citizen in 2002, was a flight risk and danger to the community.

NEVER EVER trust links from Roger DOPEY Rabbit. PMSNBC mysteriously dropped off the part she came before BUSH! Butt Roger DOPEY Rabbit just goes with the PMSNBC shitflow!

Good try but she was here during the Clintonian years moron!

There’s been a Bush Depression in those years – which started on Bush’s watch. And continuation of the Bush wars – which are thankfully winding down. And continuation of Bush’s tax cuts…

Did I forget anything?

What a numbskull.

51. Puddybud spews:

@50, still a nut! ObamAA+ decided to become president. Was a gun held to his head? He claimed to have a plan. He claimed to be a uniter. He claimed to have answers. Nope you dope!
