Small cars, close in houses, trains, drivers on the left – Europe or SA. Looks older like Europe.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Europe for sure, because the cars are driving on the wrong side of the street. (Dang those Europeans! They can’t do anything right! They should have health care like ours! And a 60-hour workweek like ours! And no paid vacations, like us!) The architecture looks Dutch. Somewhere in the Netherlands.
Lee spews:
Yep, there’s quite a bit of the world out there where people drive on the left. I may have to provide an extra clue for this one.
Jeff spews:
They drive on the left in the UK, but the rest of Europe drives on the right like us.
Only a few countries where people drive on the left: see map here.
N in Seattle spews:
I can’t believe that cnr and RR both think Europeans drive on the left. It’s been over 40 years since the last country on the Continent made the switch (Sweden, 1967), and that came three decades after every other non-island European nation started driving on the right.
That said, it does look more like the British Isles than Cyprus or Malta. Though I suppose it could be Australia or New Zealand (or South Africa?) instead.

I was actually surprised by Jeff’s map. I had no idea so much of Africa still drove on the left. I knew about India and Pakistan, but had no idea about Thailand. This is why we need views from the third world!
If you look closely at the building next to the big tree, I believe (but I’m not entirely sure I see what I think I’m seeing) there’s a clue that will narrow down where this view is.
wes.in.wa spews:
Shelbourne Rd. & S. Lotts Rd., Dublin, Ireland. I haven’t zeroed in on the exact birdseye view, but it’s clear that THIS is the place.
wes.in.wa spews:
It’s HERE.
Puddybud is shocked SHOCKED spews:
N, from all the drivel delivered over the years by these two you are now surprised?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahahahahaha
Congrats Wes U DA MAN! There was a greyhound stadium near there.
Roger Rabbit spews:
So there’s a dead body on the pavement next to the building next to the big tree, so what? That could place it anywhere — New York, Chicago, Moscow, Pullman …
Lee spews:
@10
It looks like a Guinness sign to me. :)
Nice job, Wes!
wes.in.wa spews:
The pub on the corner: Martin B. Slattery’s pub
Slattery’s thanks Its Customers & Leinster Rugby
Lee spews:
@12
That’s awesome, I’ll have to post that up next week.
wes.in.wa spews:
Amazing what Bing Maps & Google Earth together can accomplish. Plus the more standard search engines … all the links to on-street photos, etc.
correctnotright spews:
@5 – Last I looked the UK is still part of Europe.
But Puddy wopuldn’t know that….
Lee spews:
@15
Yeah, Roger was the only one who actually made a completely claim. The Netherlands? C’mon, Roger.
