    FBI.gov – reliable source, unclear point, again. The page linked is the Uniform Crime report, but it is not at all clear what he’s trying to argue. He has again just posted a link embedded in a bunch of blather.

    answers.com – Really? answers.com is your authoritative reference? The link puddles provides is to a search for “what city has the highest abortion rate?”
    New York is the answer, but what is the point? If anything this says that there needs to be more access to birth control (see rates of teen pregnancy above, particularly in the Bible Belt). It also implies that women in NYC have access to health care option. That’s a good thing, right?

    google.com – puddles links to a raw google search of “highest abortion rate cities in us”
    Again, point? Even if he were making a point, a page of google links does not make a supporting reference warranting a link, or the implication of backing that a link (should) imply.

    The second to last link is to a search of the CDC site for “Mississippi cities teen birth rate 2009” and is a page of links to CDC data. There are no specific data to which the reader is directed – it’s a sham. It has the form of a supported argument, without the substance.

    The last link is to that statistical powerhouse, The Daily Beast, to a story titled “America’s 50 Divorce Capitals” Powerful, really powerful.
    The first three cities, for what it’s worth (likely not much) are in Florida, Arizona and West Virginia.

    So I went to my Democratic precinct caucus this afternoon.
    Alas, there was pretty poor participation, but I had a lovely conversation with two of my neighbors – two wonderful women, both staunchly pro-choice former Catholics, mad as hell at Cardinal Dolan and the rest of the pedophile-enabling, Republican-mouthpiece Conference of Catholic Bishops.
    There was also a clear-eyed rejection of the Ann Rmoney as martyr ploy. The consensus was, rightly I think, good for her – but every other mother in this country deserves the same options with regard to career or staying home – and her defense of Mitt is a defense of the shredding of the safety net and the general social compact in this nation.

    No complacency about Mitt, these ladies were mad as hell there weren’t as many people there at 2008 (when, as PCO, I nearly had to adjudicate fist-fights between the Hillary and the Barack factions) – but given the lack of contest, and the nice weather, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

The U.S. is one of the few countries that taxes the foreign wages of its citizens who work abroad. In most cases these aren’t wealthy people, they’re usually people holding dual citizenships who haven’t lived in the U.S. for years and are giving up their useless U.S. citizenship so they don’t have to pay taxes twice, to two countries, on one paycheck.
