Friday Open Thread

Good morning lovelies and uggos.

  • Oh, hey. Some real qualifications for sheriffs and police chiefs.
  • It’s tough to read about organizations that do good treating their employees poorly.
  • In general I think Mayor Wilson’s proposal to expand the number of tiny homes and shelters is good. But not sure that relying on volunteers is sustainable.
  • Call your legislator right now. I don’t care that you’re on the bus: Make the straphangers next to you uncomfortable with your passion for the budget.

Jordan Brands/Nike announced the signing of likely two-time National Champion and likely #1 WNBA pick to a full partnership. Already had an NIL.

Also, she’s got a pretty famous girlfriend.

Time for another round of fragile dudes burning their Jordans.

    OOPSIE!

The US economy lost 92,000 jobs in February, Labor Department data released Friday showed, sharply missing economists’ expectations and stalling the nascent hiring growth that started the year.

The unemployment rate edged up to 4.4%, while the share of people who have been without work for 27 weeks or more as a percentage of all unemployed hit 25.3%.

Admit it kreepfuck of widbee. Your beloved orange pos dear leader and its rubberstamp, sicko-phantic repukes in the Congress and judiciary have been nothing but a con job on the people who voted for them.

Don’t look at me. I didn’t vote for that shit.

Americans wouldn’t be wrong to fear retaliatory attacks on the U.S. as part of the war with Iran, according to President Donald Trump.

“I guess,” Trump told TIME when asked if those in the United States should worry about domestic attacks.

“But I think they’re worried about that all the time,” Trump added. “We think about it all the time. We plan for it. But yeah, you know, we expect some things. Like I said, some people will die. When you go to war, some people will die.”

Attacks and plots in the U.S. by foreign adversaries and extremist groups were a common feature during the War on Terror over the first two decades of the 2000s. Critics of the president were alarmed by his comments on Iran.

But hey, no migrants can’t ever commit a crime, because they must be held to higher standards of typical human behavior. Same logic as “When you go to war, some people will die.” Well, when humans breathe, they will create crimes. But not them Damn Mexicanos, they can’t be human! PEDO POWER!

kreepfuck, ya got some ‘splain to do to your “monitor” or your “minder” who forced you to damage your “brand” since 10/5/2025.

This time over your transphobia and your knee-jerk scapegoating of trans people.

Or maybe your “minder” or “monitor” put the kibosh on that shit as you haven’t indulged in a spell but nevertheless you have indulged – since 10/5/2025.

I’ve got the details to reveal at the appropriate time.

    10,
She put her grift on television. And she tried to cut out the big boss.

She spent $220 million on that. Does it look like $220 million went into making and placing those spots? He may not know much else, but Fat Hitler seems to know television well enough. And he isn’t falling for that scam. She took $220 million out of her agency budget and handed it over to a “friend” on a no-bid contract who spent no more than $20 million of it. Where’d the other $200 million go?

    The boss gets his cut.

@8 $20 billion could buy a lot of health care for hardworking American citizens subsisting on Republican wages in red states. Instead these voters see Israel spending it on a war of choice against a country that didn’t attack us.

    13,
Israel has universal health care. So do the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Cradle-to-grave, everyone pays absolutely nothing for excellent, world class health care. No “out of pocket maximun”, no 20% deductible, they pay nothing. Nobody goes bankrupt or loses their home or has to work until they are 80 to pay off medical debt. It’s all taken care of by the government.

But U.S. taxpayers need to pony up $2 billion every day to fight their shitty wars. And now Republicans want to spend another $20 billion insuring they get to sell enough oil.
