Halligan is licensed in Florida.
Based on the pleadings and motions filed and responses given by Comey’s counsel in these proceedings I’m of the opinion that Comey is seeking to produce a record that will support litigation once his indictment has been dismissed, however that comes to pass. Certainly a finding of vindictive prosecution would be highly advantageous to such litigation. And would then both target Halligan and explore specifically her relationship with the Attorney General (presumably her boss) and the president, apparently the one calling the shots.
It’s possible that Halligan would be forthcoming about how this train wreck of a prosecution ever reached this deplorable stage and burdened the court, the DOJ, and the defendant with such disgraceful conduct. But if she chooses not to, as I assume she will, then Mr. Comey would be not only justified in bringing a formal complaint to the Florida bar, he would be wise to do so.
If she stands behind this travesty to protect the fat authoritarian-in-chief she deserves that fate and whatever comes with it. Besides, her future will certainly not require a law license. She’ll either be running for office in Florida or going on tee vee to be a performer of some kind. But unsuspecting clients should be protected from her, nonetheless.
