Is the “mainstream” media ignoring Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s expose on vote fraud and suppression in Ohio? Well, as far as local political writers go, you can’t get much more mainstream than the Seattle P-I’s Joel Connelly. (And I mean that in a good way, Joel.)

How could the PI and Times cover the theft of the 2004 election in Ohio when they had their hands full covering specious charges of fraud by Dean Logan? That they were no more than cynical suspicions triggered by those who came out on the losing end of a recount was too opaque for our lazy press. They even sucked up the great vacation flapdoodle.

They can’t be bothered looking a real fraud. Their masters might get mad.

Oh sure, we get pounded with absolute bullshit about KC in 2004, charges that were adjudicated and found lacking years ago. But testimony and evidence of Republican fraud don’t even merit an official investigation.

Of course, Republicans always want special rules. They can’t win otherwise.

Here in Washington a completely open, transparent recount has been pounded at for going on two years now. Not an iota of evidence of official misconduct has passed the laugh test.

Republican election officials in Ohio and Florida are such partisans they use their records of stolen elections to rise in the party heirarchy.

Katheren Harris was awarded a Congressional office, Ken Blackwell wants to be governor.

The lesson is clear. Fire needs to be fought with fire.

This is what Washington Republicans want in an election official.

When ROLLING STONE confronted Blackwell about his overtly partisan attempts to subvert the election, he dismissed any such claim as ”silly on its face.” Ohio, he insisted in a telephone interview, set a ”gold standard” for electoral fairness. In fact, his campaign to subvert the will of the voters had begun long before Election Day. Instead of welcoming the avalanche of citizen involvement sparked by the campaign, Blackwell permitted election officials in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Toledo to conduct a massive purge of their voter rolls, summarily expunging the names of more than 300,000 voters who had failed to cast ballots in the previous two national elections.(55) In Cleveland, which went five-to-one for Kerry, nearly one in four voters were wiped from the rolls between 2000 and 2004.(56)

    55) The board of elections in Cuyahoga, Franklin and Hamilton counties.

    56) Analysis by Richard Hayes Phillips, a voting rights advocate.

Always look in the cities for people to remove from the voter roles, never in the ‘burbs. The GOP knows where their votes are.

Connelly is wrong about the exit polls, they are the mechanism used in Germany and France to check the validity of elections results. And as for the “tiny margin of error””

The first indication that something was gravely amiss on November 2nd, 2004, was the inexplicable discrepancies between exit polls and actual vote counts. Polls in thirty states weren’t just off the mark — they deviated to an extent that cannot be accounted for by their margin of error. In all but four states, the discrepancy favored President Bush.(16)

    16) Evaluation of Edison/Mitofsky Election System 2004” prepared by Edison Media Research and Mitofksy International for the National Election Pool (NEP), January 19, 2005, Page 3

Exit polls in three of the 49 sampled in Ohio were examined and found to have results that indicate either massive vote miscount or entirely implausible behavior, such as Bush voters lying more than Kerry voters. That is the way Edison/Mitifsky attempted to explain away the variance of the exit polls from the results. In the three precincts in Ohio, the odds of the exit polls share for Kerry being much higher than the official vote counts were 1 in 867,205,553; 1 in 294,832 and 1 in 17,815.

    Connelly should do more homework.

Rossi Files Unprecedented 8th Run for Governor
    By DJ Savage
    THE SEATTLE DAILY STRANGER
    May 12, 2032

Failed slumlord Dino Rossi filed today for an unprecedented eighth consecutive run for governor of Washington State. Rossi will run for the first time on the Independent-Oddfellow ticket. Rossi has run in every gubernatorial election in Washington since 2004, failing to advance beyond the primary in the last six tries.

Rossi gained national attention in the 2004 election when, running as a Republican, he lost to Democrat Christine Gregoire by just 129 votes, a margin of 0.0045%. His subsequent legal challenges to the result were unsuccessful. Rossi has also named part-time net-journalist and long time political ally Stefan Sharkansky as his campaign manager.

Rossi joins a crowded field led by Republican Reagan Dunn hoping to unseat first term Democratic Governor Dean Logan.

The once successful real estate investor fell on hard times after it was discovered that a Renton apartment building that he purchased and renovated in 2009 had been insulated with shredded voter registrations and asbestos waste. The resulting litigation proved financially devastating to Rossi, and he filed bankruptcy in 2012. Since 2015 he has shared a trailer in Algona with Sharkansky.

It just happens that Anthony is chairman of the Franklin County Board of Elections and also chairman of the Franklin County Democratic party. “I am a black man,” he told the Columbus Dispatch. “Why would I sit there and disenfranchise voters in my own community?” Good question.

We face lots of problems in teh US. Bogged down in iraq, health care costs rising while coverage shrinks, corruption scandals and citizen privacy in danger daily. So what do the GOP propose for America? Same old, tired, non essential shit. The gay marriage amenment. The flag burning amendment. The anemic, partisan, electioneering Iraq War “resolution.” However, lest I be accused of short-changing their hard work, I want to note that they also have been busy cutting Medicaid, aid to the disabled, foster care, child support enforcement, the food stamps program, reduced-cost school lunches for children, and student aid.

What do Democrats propose? Keep the troops to train and support the Iraqi “standing up” and bring the rest homw (squelched by the GOP). Senator Clinton introducing the Privacy Rights and Oversight for Electronic and Commercial Transactions Act of 2006 (PROTECT Act). Democrats introduce legislation to secure our ports, nuclear and chemical plants, and other sensitive facilities against attack (killed by the GOP–why do they hate America?). Clean water and clean air? Republicans against, Democrats for.

Amnesty for Iraqis who have killed Americans? Republicans for, Democrats against.

I think our choice is clear.

  62. Daddy Love spews:

Senator Clinton’s PROTECT Act will protect consumer information by allowing credit card companies, banks and other financial service providers to share information only when customers “opt it.” Current law requires consumers to opt out.
-It will protect cell phone numbers and call records against disclosure.
-It will allow victims of identity theft to immediately freeze their credit rating.
-It will allow consumers to sue financial service providers to sue directly in federal court for violations of their privacy.
-It will create a right to be notified immediately if you are a victim of identity theft, to know when your information is transmitted overseas, and to receive a free copy of your credit report each year.
-It will create a “privacy czar” within the Office of Management and Budget.
-It will expand HIPAA by adding additional sanctions to ensure violators are held accountable.

I think we should be better prepared to deal with privacy that we were to deal with hurricanes, don’t you?

Can’t Bring Yourself to Type the Word “Ass”?

Eager to share our brilliant political commentary and blunt media criticism, but too genteel to link to horsesass.org? Well, good news, ladies: we also answer to HASeattle.com, because, you know, whatever. You're welcome!

HA Commenting Policy

It may be hard to believe from the vile nature of the threads, but yes, we have a commenting policy. Comments containing libel, copyright violations, spam, blatant sock puppetry, and deliberate off-topic trolling are all strictly prohibited, and may be deleted on an entirely arbitrary, sporadic, and selective basis. And repeat offenders may be banned! This is my blog. Life isn’t fair.
