US Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) apparently has no moral qualms about advocating the mass murder of millions of children in the name of US national security:

“I think if you have to hit Iran, you don’t put boots on the ground. You do it with tactical nuclear devices, and you set them back a decade or two or three,” Hunter said in an interview with C-SPAN. “I think that’s the way to do it — with a massive aerial bombardment campaign.”

Iran has a population of over 75 million human beings, about 24 percent of whom are under the age of 15. You know, innocent children—millions of whom would be instantly incinerated or die slower irradiated deaths should Representative Hunter’s preemptive foreign policy win the day. Or, maybe we should just preemptively try and execute Hunter as the war criminal he aspires to be? Wouldn’t that make the world a safer place for everybody?

This was originally posted to Slog, but my editors thought it came too close to threatening the life of a congressman. I disagree (I suggest a legal process for dealing with Hunter, even if I presume his guilt), but I guess that’s their prerogative.

2. -_- spews:

Are you mentally retarded? Because that would explain how you misread everything he said. Hunters comments are all what ifs…followed by “I sure as hell hope not.”

Would you prefer a long drawn out conflict, with major US casualties?

3. Ekim spews:

But I guess it is OK for a wingnut Congress critter to suggest executing a whole country with tactical nuclear devices.

Eh, that would be you.

@2 Considering some of Hunter’s other public remarks, and the proportion of his latest verbal defecation devoted to speculating on the how as opposed to the whether or the why…I suspect his intended meaning was as obvious as the bulge it doubtless induced in Puddy’s crotch.

6. headless spews:

Obviously, Hunter has failed to consider the fact that Israel would flatten Iran long before the U.S would.

What is there about ‘Never again!’ that people find so hard to understand?

@2 “Would you prefer a long drawn out conflict, with major US casualties?”

Eh, how about a diplomatic solution, under which Iran agrees not to make weapons-grade material or build a bomb, in exchange for lifting sanctions?

Why do you assume there’s no non-military solution to Iran’s nuclear program? Oh, because you’re a winger, and wingers’ imagination and creativity doesn’t extend beyond blowing things up and killing people.

Meanwhile, with friends like ours …

“A pair of thieves in Mexico may have stolen more than they bargained for when they targeted a truck this week. The stolen vehicle was carrying … a radioactive element … that … can be used to make a so-called dirty bomb.

“Mexican authorities said they’d found the stolen truck and at least some of the radioactive cobalt on Wednesday. But officials aren’t sure whether any of the cobalt is missing …. The container containing cobalt was found about a kilometer away from the truck and had been opened ….

“[I]n Thailand in 2000, a disused cobalt-60 source was stored outdoors and bought by two scrap collectors, who took it to a junkyard where it was cut open. Some workers suffered burn-like injuries, and eventually three people died and seven others suffered radiation injuries …. Nearly 2,000 others who lived nearby were exposed to radiation.”

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Anyone who thinks those Mexican thieves didn’t know what they were stealing and what it’s worth on the black market and who would buy it has rocks in his head.

Seems to me we should get our own nuclear materials under control before we sweat blood worrying about what Iran might do with theirs.

Just get out of the Middle East entirely and declare total neutrality in the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.

Here’s Duncan Hunter, amoral bloodthirsty douchebag, as quoted at TPM

“In the Middle Eastern culture, it is looked upon with very high regard to get the best deal possible no matter what it takes — and that includes lying,” Hunter said in an interview with C-SPAN.

Am I mistaken, or didn’t the puddibigot say something to that effect – ie, can’t trust Iranians because the Quran says it’s OK to lie to ‘infidels’? I believe he wrote that on the day the news came out about the tentative deal the other day.

Monsters. Amoral, hate-filled monsters.

@16

That’s called mocking the indefensible political statement. Something Thomas Jefferson wrote about that you believe originated with Alinsky. It’s like the greatest hits of Piddles idiocy tonight.

20. ArtFart spews:

@10 Somebody ought to call Hunter’s bluff and dare him to try spending a day in a strawberry field trying to keep up with the pros. Ten bucks says he’d last less than half an hour before calling for his limo….or his mommie.

@14

Anyone can Google Quran/Koran and claim to have read it and be full of shit.

Funny, you didn’t notice that both of your links are from the same Tafsir? You don’t know what a Tafsir is do you? Well unlike morons like you who have claimed the the bible is divine infallible word without acknowledging that different translations of the bible say different things, a Tafsir is a specific interpretation or translation of the Quran and is acknowledged by mainstream Muslims as not the literal Quran but merely an interpretation.

Your translations that you have so helpfully linked are from a Sunni Tafsir.

Iran is 9% Sunni and 89% Shi’a.

Here’s a standard modern Tafsir of your first link:
“Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.”

Sounds an awful lot like Mark Driscol telling his sheep not to associate with those outside of Mars Hill and not even slightly like permission to lie doesn’t it?

As you are so fond of saying…epic fayle! How are you doing on those forgiveness things that you ignore in your own holy book?

22. Gman spews:

Well we know the Bible says, thou shall not lie, and what Republican doesn’t. We should be worried about our own lies.
