* I’m glad that there’s someone calling bullshit on the foreign policy establishment. A desire to attack anyone who didn’t attack us on 9/11 is acceptable, but the idea of getting the people who attacked us is beyond the pale. Odd those serious people.
* Seriously chicken hawks, don’t complain about being called chicken hawks unless you’re willing to get your head handed to you.
* And speaking of chicken hawks, Bill Kristol is impressed with what the U.S. Military is doing in Iraq.
* But at least Kristol isn’t wishing for another terror attack on U.S. soil. You know, for unity sake.
* And in any event, an interviewer’s questions totally proves that all liberals are looking for an Islamic version of creation science.
Locally, the crazies can’t compete with all that. But they’ll try.

I’m not arguing that “It was Dan Savage’s column in the Stranger that got us into Iraq.” I’m arguing that as one of the voices added to the Bushies’ voices promoting and supporting the war Savage bears some of the responsibility for what has happened. Compared to Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld, Savage’s role is minor, but he, like every other war supporter, is responsible for some of the carnage nonetheless. I don’t know how to spell that out any more clearly.
So Seattle’s liberals can associate with Dan Savage and applaud his wit, and make excuses for him saying that other people were fooled by the lying Bushies too; but he is, in fact, a war monger whether his fans like it or not.
Read Dan Savage’s “SAY YES TO WAR column yourself. Read Savage’s contempt for stupid squish head liberals. Read how casually he argues that this war will be good for Iraqi children. Read his arrogant hubris! Here’s the link.

“In the meantime, invading and rebuilding Iraq will not only free the Iraqi people, it will also make the Saudis aware of the consequences they face if they continue to oppress their own people while exporting terrorism and terrorists. The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize… or we’re going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves.”

Hardly.
Rove resigned when he wanted to resign. I suspect we’ll see a great big fat book deal (to really make the leftys foam at the mouth) then his being persuaded to jump back into presidential politics if only to smack down the Hillabitch broad.
I can see why the lefties are miffed though. With Karl out of the picture, that eliminated a fantastic BDS tool. It’s like some big bully took away the lefties’ little red wagon.
Bush/Rove kick the dems asses around for six years and the libs claim the Republican party is in tatters? With a 14% (some polls as low as 3%) approval rating for running Congress, what do the libs run on, new and creative post office names?

Rove resigns in disgrace?
Yep. He’s under investigation for at least three high profile scandals (Abramoff, USA firings, and OSC tampering). His reputation as a political “genius” is in tatters (among others: Social Security, Katrina, 2006 elections – Republicans are even openly challenging his performance in 2000 and 2004). And his attempts to win over Latino voters have been sunk by the racist/xenophobic wing of the GOP.
And, of course, the White House offered up four different explanations (seriously, four) today for why he was leaving. If he really was leaving on his own terms, they wouldn’t have had to do so much grasping and backtracking today.

#10, What did Rove accomplish besides getting the worst president in our country’s history elected (not) and re-elected (not again) by using fear, election fraud, voter suppression, and his daddy’s reputation?
The ability of Bush being elected twice only shows how retarded 50 million mouth breathing sheep can be.
The Republicon Party has been completely destroyed, and almost twice as many people call themselves Democrats these days than Republicons. They have been nothing but a fraud for years anyway, and today most Americans understand this. Anyone with a working brain can see they are just a bunch of crybaby, corrupt, dishonest, fake christian chickenhawks.
Just remember wingnuts. The investigations, and prosecutions for turning our justice dept. into a voter suppression unit for the Republicon Party have just begun.
Gonzales admitted Rove was giving political briefings to justice department (not capitalized on purpose) officials. This is, if you don’t know it in violation of many laws. I know, I know, when it comes to running our government for the good of the GOP any law that can be broken will be, and not prosecuted right?
When you start crying about all those investigations, remember they spent 10 times as much time investigating Clinton’s Christmas Card List as they did Abu Gharib.
The sooner the GOP and their Anti-Constitution brain dead traitor loving maggot supporters are driven from power by the people (or put in cages which is what they deserve) the better. Good riddance. It is time for the government to serve the people, and not just the top 1%, Exxon/Mobil, and Halliburton.

HELL NO!!! Of course I post under a fake name! Do you think I want the FBI tapping my phone? Or some wingnut throwing a molotov cocktail into my burrow? Besides, people would laugh at me if they knew my real name is Clyde Bunny.
“The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize… or we’re going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves.”
How’s that working out for you guys so far?
Roger Rabbit spews:
@8 In response to your question of whether Roger Rabbit engages in sockpuppetry on HorsesAss, the answer is no. Posting under a pseudonym is not sockpuppetry.
“Sockpuppet” has meant a number of things in common usage, but the definition used by HA’s moderators is similar to the following:
“[A] recent NY Times article defines ‘sock-puppeting’ as ‘the act of creating a fake online identity to praise, defend or create the illusion of support for one’s self, allies or company.’ The key difference between a sockpuppet and a regular pseudonym is the conveyance that the puppet is a third party who is not affiliated with the puppeteer.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.....nternet%29
Thus, to engage in sockpuppetry, one must have at least two online identities. An illustration of sockpuppetry would be if I posted under another identity and said, “Roger Rabbit is right.” I don’t do that. I’m sure the other liberal posters you mentioned don’t, either. So go fuck yourself.

@38:
Klake, I read your post with some interest since I hadn’t seen your work before. Unfortunately, the point of your post was lost on me. You start out apparently intending to discuss the political state of affairs in Iraq but then devolve into a paean to the American foot soldier.
What am I supposed to take away from that? Are there brave soldiers in both the American and Iraqi forces? Sure, never disputed that. Is that going to fix the political problems in Iraq? You sure haven’t made any kind of persuasive argument that it will.
Muddy prose leaves me cold.

OneMan, great observation you can win military but you can’t politically no matter what goverment is running the show. This Nation is the best example of that problem. Define Win and stablize the country(Iraq) and let them run it anyway they want. But don’t expect them to adope the Democrat Party to run their country.

wth?
I don’t imagine they “adopt”ed the Republican party to run their country either. As I recall, they didn’t have much say in who was going to (mis-)run their country.
Um, I believe that’s the problem in a nutshell. Too bad the Neocons didn’t think of that before going in with no plan for the aftermath.
And what in anything you’ve said (either here or in your blog entry) gives you any basis for your presumed optimism? Once again, you throw a lot of words around but don’t make many points. Spell it out for a dumb ol’ liberal: what are you trying to say?
I don’t get it.
Oh: need I point out the irony of you bringing up Mosul as a bright spot in your blog in light of today’s news? Not that I take any particular glee in scoring political points on the backs of so many dead and wounded.

klake,
I want to second OneMan’s sentiments. Your comments make less sense than some of the spam comments we filter out.
