‘The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant.
It’s an experimental procedure, very risky , but it is the only hope. Insurance
will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the BRAIN.’
The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a time, someone
asked, ‘How much will a brain cost?’
The doctor quickly responded, ‘$5,000 for a male brain; $200 for a female brain.’
The moment turned awkward. Some of the men actually had to’try’ to not smile, a
voiding eye contact with the women .
A man unable to control his curiosity, finally blurted out the question everyone
wanted to ask, ‘Why is the male brain so much more than a female brain?’
The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group,
‘It’s just standard pricing procedure. We have to price the female brains a lot
lower because they’ve been used.’

Actually, higher interest rates are inevitable to be followed by Inflation.
Read this– New Projections Show $1.8T Deficit for 2009
The newly projected deficit is now $1.8 trillion, four times last year’s deficit and higher than originally estimated.
FOXNews.com
Monday, May 11, 2009
WASHINGTON — Imagine earning $50,000 a year and spending $100,000. That’s a lot of money owed to somebody.
Now imagine the government spending $3.6 trillion and borrowing nearly half of it. Again, big debt to pay.
That’s what the Office of Management and Budget is predicting.
OMB Director Peter Orszag announced Monday that a $90 billion increase in the estimated deficit for each of the next two years would bring the deficit for fiscal year 2009 to $1.8 trillion and for 2010 to $1.3 trillion. President Obama’s proposed budget for 2010 is $3.6 trillion. The 2009 budget was set at $3.1 trillion.
Those numbers are up from February’s estimates. The budget deficits will be 12.9 percent and 8.5 percent of gross domestic product in those two years, Orszag said. The budget deficit for fiscal year 2009, which ends Sept. 30, is four times the record set last year.
Obama has decided short-term prosperity using borrowed money is more important than long-term stability.
During the campaign, one of Obama’s key talking points was the negative impact of deficit spending. Now in office, Obama is cranking the money mackine 4 times faster than Bush. Funny how that works.
Obama has put us in the position where we need to borrow $150 BILLION more every single month. $150 Billion for month.
Then next year, we must borrow another $110 BILLION per month.
Obama will leave office in 2013 with such devasting fiscal consequences if he stays on this borrow, borrow, borrow track.
me–
If we need to borrow another $150 BILLION per month for 12 months…and $110 BILLION for another 12 months, what is going to happen to interest rates?? What is going to happen to the dollar? Doesn’t take a genius to figure out higher interest rates and weak dollat..followed by inflation.
The aveage person is so numb to these astromical Obama numbers, they don’t know how to react.
Adjust your financial plans accordingly with interest rate and inflation hedges.
Good luck.

Richard Popespews:
Seriously, what is happening with all this extra spending? We now have a $1.8 trillion deficit for the current 2008-09 fiscal year. The budget passed in June 2008 — with Bush’s irresponsible tax cuts creating then-record deficit spending — only had a $407 billion deficit.
That is an increase of $1.4 trillion. Over half of this increase is Bush’s fault — he gave away $750 billion to bail out the failing banks and other failing businesses.
This leaves another $650 billion of increased spending — after accounting for the tax revenues being way too low due to Bush’s irresponsible tax cuts, and Bush’s irresponsible bailout of the rich.
If we took that same $650 billion, we could create over 15 million jobs. The government could hire people to do something (or even do nothing) for $30,000 a year a piece. Then add $10,000 for the cost of insurance and benefits, and that is $40,000 a year. Divide that into $650 billion, and you can create over 15 million jobs.
Since the total number of unemployed for April 2009 is “only” 13.7 million people, we would have been able to totally solve the unemployment problem, if all of Obama’s extra spending had been used to create jobs.

Frankly, I do not know if Obama-omics will work.
I do know that we had an awesome opportunity as a result of the fall of the USSR. We blew it with 28 years (Reagan to Bush II) of increasing dependence on foreign loans, a lack of the kind of alliances that work to our advantage militarily and economically, and a decreasing ability of America to function as the world’s central industrial power.
Any answers, given the cess pool left after Bush II, needed some sort of dramatic and short term fixes. For all the hand wringing, mine as well, no one seems to have proposed any rational short term fixes other than those used bt That One and his crew.
It is easier to say what would NOT work:
1. An untrammeled effort to rule the world with US military.
2. Perpetual dependence on recycled debt.
3. Faith that the magic of the American Free Market will create miracles.
4. Allowing the real capital of American productivity to poof because of the failed magic of free market banks printing money in the form of infinitely leveraged debt.
It seems to me to be a good thing to worry about how BHO will or can lead us through the short term, but it is imperative to think in the longer term about how to shore the levies. A few apecifics seem very clear to me:
1. We MUST, restart our internal industrial database. The USA is not Monaco, Bermuda, or Switzerland. We can not live off of brokering others’ assets.
This likely means an overall fall in our industrial wage. It also means we need to compete with China and others in maintaining and growing a productive infrastructure.
2. We need a long term fix to our healthcare system. We can no longer strangle American jobs on the healthcare noose.\
3. We need an emigration policy that takes advantage of America’s ability to be where bright folks from the entire world come to make their mark. China may have a billion folks able to learn new things but they can not compete with us if we represent the best and the brightest across the world.
4. We need to cut deeply into the 50% of federal spending that now supports our role as world cop. We can only do this by creating new, sustainable alliances.
5. We need MUCH better and tougher schools. The myth that “all people can learn must stop being synonymous with the neglect of the cultivation of out academic elites. Imoproving educational opportunities for African Americans will fail unless we also celebrate anbd promote the successes of all Americans competing for the top schools and jobs.

Wanda Sykes’ comedy routine at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner was really offensive. In it, Sykes suggested that conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is supported by Hamas, and that Islamists are “constantly issuing Limbaugh talking points”. She joked about terrorists supporting conservatives in general, suggesting that recent violent events in Iraq are attempts by terrorists to swing the upcoming midterm elections in favor of Republicans.
Then she got really personal. She joked that Limbaugh was a racist who doesn’t want black people to “escap[e] the underclass”. She accused him of being responsible for killing “a million babies a year”, and aired her friend’s theory that Limbaugh himself was a terrorist attack,” a followup to 9/11. She also, most disgustingly, said that if conservatives kept apologizing to Limbaugh, they’d eventually contract “anal poisoning.” She wondered when Republicans would finally stop “bending over and grabbing their ankles” for Limbaugh, and finally concluded that Limbaugh was just a “bad guy”.
I’m sorry, what came over me? It was Rush Limbaugh who said that stuff about Barack Obama.

Poor Delbert – don’t even talk about our messed up health care system – it stinks.
The non-partisan NCHC put out this fact sheet:
In 2008, health care spending in the United States reached $2.4 trillion, and was projected to reach $3.1 trillion in 2012.
Health care spending is 4.3 times the amount spent on national defense.
In 2008, the United States will spend 17 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on health care. It is projected that the percentage will reach 20 percent by 2017.
Although nearly 46 million Americans are uninsured, the United States spends more on health care than other industrialized nations, and those countries provide health insurance to all their citizens.
Health care spending accounted for 10.9 percent of the GDP in Switzerland, 10.7 percent in Germany, 9.7 percent in Canada and 9.5 percent in France, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
We waste more money on inefficient insurance companies raking in profits than any other country in the world.
We cover less people, have worse health and pay far more then any other country. Republicans like to call this the “best” system in the world – but it is bad and getting worse. Our companies are burdened by health care costs and our workers can’t get covered. Even the coverages we have are lousy and we pay more for drugs than any other country in the world (thanks to the republican led efforts to cozy up to big Pharma).
De;bert says:
My point is, if you want to remove cost from the medical system, you have to reduce the number of unnecessary test performed.
While it is true that CYA medicine is often practiced – giving away the right to sue for incompetent care would also be stupid.
The real savings will come from lower priced drugs, preventitive care and getting rid of paperwork clogging insurance companies.
Anyone who can’t see those basic facts really is “stupid”.

New Projections Show $1.8T Deficit for 2009
The newly projected deficit is now $1.8 trillion, four times last year’s deficit and higher than originally estimated.
FOXNews.com
Monday, May 11, 2009
Obama has decided short-term prosperity using borrowed money is more important than long-term stability.
Good luck.

Richard Pope spews:

The deficit for 2008-09 was already projected to be $1.2 trillion at the time Bush left office in January 2009. This is based on additional spending that Bush signed into law after the original 2008-09 budget was adopted.
You are correct that Obama has increased the deficit. By about 50% over what Bush already had it at, and certainly not anywhere near 4 times as much.

Poor Delbert – don’t even talk about our messed up health care system – it stinks.
The non-partisan NCHC put out this fact sheet:
We waste more money on inefficient insurance companies raking in profits than any other country in the world.
We cover less people, have worse health and pay far more then any other country. Republicans like to call this the “best” system in the world – but it is bad and getting worse. Our companies are burdened by health care costs and our workers can’t get covered. Even the coverages we have are lousy and we pay more for drugs than any other country in the world (thanks to the republican led efforts to cozy up to big Pharma).
De;bert says:
While it is true that CYA medicine is often practiced – giving away the right to sue for incompetent care would also be stupid.
The real savings will come from lower priced drugs, preventitive care and getting rid of paperwork clogging insurance companies.
Anyone who can’t see those basic facts really is “stupid”.
