“The David Goldstein Show” tonight on News/Talk 710-KIRO

Tonight on “The David Goldstein Show”, 7PM to 10PM on News/Talk 710-KIRO:

7PM: Should it be harder to raise taxes for schools, than for parks, roads, and other levies?
This November local voters will be asked to spend $17.8 billion for roads and transit, and it’s gonna be close. But should that this measure require the same 60% super-majority required of school levies, it wouldn’t stand a chance. The Legislature passed a constitutional amendment last session to impose the same “simple majority” requirement on school levies as required of other levies, and this November you’ll have the opportunity to approve it at the polls… by of course, a simple majority. Kelly Munn of People for Our Public Schools joins us for the hour.

8PM: Will WA voters finally get their “top two” primary?
Washington voters lost their cherished open primary after a legal challenge from both parties, only to see the favored replacement, a “top-two” primary, also tossed out by the courts. Monday the U.S. Supreme Court hears and appeal, and some legal experts predict the top-two might be reinstated. As an East Coast transplant I’ve never personally understood what the big deal is about declaring a party affiliation in order to vote in a party primary, so I’ll have Sec. of State Sam Reed on for the first half hour to explain it to me and take your calls.

9PM: Is Rudy Giuliani “white enough?”
That and other questions, plus your calls.

Tune in tonight (or listen to the live stream) and give me a call: 1-877-710-KIRO (5476).

  1. 1

    michael spews:

Why should a political party get to dictate how I can vote?

If political parties want to hold their own primaries with their own members on their own dime that’s fine. But, if those parties want to open up voting to the general public and have us pay for it, it should be completely open.

As far as I’m concerned political parties have outlived their usefulness. We’d be better off with a non-partisan state government.

  2. 3

    Piper Scott spews:

I HATE primaries, always have, but, just like Dwight Pelz, I love the caucus system.

Political parties ought to have the absolute right to control who uses their name before the public.

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

The open primary, a vestage of Grange-led, agrarian populist politics, was a jab at so-called “special interests.” But it’s led to more abuse than positive use.

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

Instead, caucuses, where citizens meet, discuss issues and the merits/demerits of candidates, and collectively make decisions is far more effective at producing thoughtful, representative-of-a-party’s-POV, than primaries.

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

If you want to participate in a party’s nominating process, then you ought to participate in and be part of the life of the party: go to meetings, financially support the party of your choice, participate in party events like campaigns, etc.

In other words: GET INVOLVED! What happens when you don’t?

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

To those who contend that they’re “voting” for someone when they participate in a primary, my response is to ask, “For what office; if the individual for whom you vote wins, what elected public office will that individual then hold?” Most of the time the person can’t understand the question, which is sad and results in things like:

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

Aside from judicial contests, which are non-partisan, individuals on the ballot in primary elections aren’t actually running for election to an office; they’re looking to be NOMINATED as the candidate of a political party to then run for office.

Let the political party’s control their own nominating process, which also entails having them PAY FOR the use of publicly owned facilities, equipment, and public employees who facilitate the parties in this process. When the party’s don’t control or can’t control the process, you end up with awful embarrassments such as:

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

I almost feel sorry for my brethren and sistren in the Democratic Party who find themselves saddled with an abomination born of the primary system:

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

Competing, sharply divergent political parties are a good thing, a healthy thing, a very American thing! Mixing it up in the marketplace of ideas with different POV’s on issues and the nature of government’s role in our lives, opposing candidates vying for votes, a vigorous electoral contest testing the mettle, mind, morality, and moods of candidates seeing who has the temperment to serve…these are WONDERFUL things, things to be celebrated, not cursed!

When we don’t have strong party organizations and discipline, we end up with:

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

You want more citizen input in the process? Dump primaries and rely more on caucuses. It will get people out of their homes, engaged in their community (won’t even need a ST ride!), involved with their neighbors, knowledgable on the issues and candidates, and better able to eventually make choices on election day (I HATE absentee ballots, too, but that’s for another day, another rant).

When you have an uninformed, slothful electorate, you end up with egg on your ballot such as:

    Exhibit A: Richard Pope.

    Puddybud spews:

Stupid Choir you afraid of two Moonbat!s on the mail-in ballot will prove how idiotic Seattle politics really are?

  4. 5

    Puddybud spews:

Dammmmmmmmmmmmmn Piper, that was brutal. I like Richard Pope and have always stated my like for him even when he went Moonbat!tic, unlike these Jonny cum lately grave-vine swingers!

  5. 6

I’ve always viewed primaries as a process in which you select the candidates from each party that will compete in the general election. Can’t say a “top two” primary makes much sense. If you’re going to do that, then we should move to a form of run off voting and eliminate the primary altogether. Other countries have no problem holding elections over two weekends. Somehow we’ve developed an inability to do likewise.

  6. 7

    Puddybud spews:

I thought Joe Biden said it best of Obama: “You got the first mainstream African American, who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

So I guess Carl, but Joe’s terms Obama is white enough for Democrats. Why do they still support the waffler, Hilary?

  7. 9

    michael spews:

I’m all for the caucus system. Or for letting parties hold primaries that are for their members only. But, when the Pierce County auditors office sends me a ballot in the mail the parties shouldn’t be able to tell me I can’t vote for whom ever I want on it.

Maybe the parties should have more control over who gets their name on the ballot with a (D) or (R) next to it, but once that ballot is in my hands it should be up to me, not the parities, who I vote for.

  8. 12

    Piper Scott spews:

Great! You can vote for whomever you wish in the general election; no party will ever know or be able to control for whom you vote.

But if you wish to participate in the NOMINATING process of a party, then that party should have the absolute and unfettered right to set the rules by which you participate in the PARTY’S nomination process.

You can’t have it both ways…

    The Piper

  9. 13

    michael spews:

“Competing, sharply divergent political parties are a good thing, a healthy thing, a very American thing! Mixing it up in the marketplace of ideas with different POV’s on issues and the nature of government’s role in our lives, opposing candidates vying for votes, a vigorous electoral contest testing the mettle, mind, morality, and moods of candidates seeing who has the temperment to serve…these are WONDERFUL things, things to be celebrated, not cursed!”

Yeah, but none of what you’re talking about is actually happening and rarely has.

  10. 16

    Puddybud spews:

Hey Carl: Didn’t Joe McCarthy call politicians and movie moguls clean when there was no taint of Communism on them? I wonder what Biden was really trying to say…?

Anyway, Moonbat!s get a pass when they say crap like that don’t they Carl?

  11. 17

    Piper Scott spews:

One reason for that in this state is the primary system, which weakens the ability of parties to chart their own destiny.

I’m good with that; party members only receive party ballots in a primary, which is my least preferred option. Ditch the primary, and use caucuses exclusively.

    Ditto…100% agreement!

    The Piper

  12. 18

    YLB spews:

Turn out the lying drunk driving Republican, the “poster child” for her party in this state.

    Vote POPE!

  13. 22

    Jesse MacBeth spews:

Hey, I am the poster boy for liberal soldiers fighting in Iraq. Wow, I share something with a repub? Yikes!

  14. 24

    Jesse MacBeth spews:

Well at least now I wont be lying when saying “I served time” regarding my fake military service.

  15. 25

    FricknFrack, Seattle spews:

You know, Swift Boating worked before, so they HAVE to keep using the tired old dogma. But, what I find so highly offensive is that the ones who keep slamming the “fake soldiers” and questioning of the patriotism of anyone who doesn’t agree with this numbnuts administration and the hellbent seeking to bankrupt the U.S.A., via the Iraq war

… are the dudes who NEVER served or else squirreled out of their duty, by any method possible!

I truly HOPE that Americans have learned, even a smidgen, from the past 6 years. Please, someone please, tell me that “childrens do learn”.

  16. 26

    Daddy Love spews:

I don’t understand. Richard Pope is the only person who stood up and said “I will run as a Democrat in this race.” What is it about a caucus that would magically produce a candidate where none wish to run?

  17. 27

    Piper Scott spews:

It’s not up to Richard Pope to tell the Democratic Party that he is their candidate. It should be up to the Democratic Party to decide who their candidate will be.

It is conceivable that the Democratic Pary may decide not to field a candidate in a race. Questions of winnability, devoting resources to more important races, etc., factor into a decision.

Some have said parties should field candidates in all races, yet that ignores the political reality of certain districts that are overwhelmingly populated by members of one party or the other.

Still and bottom, bottom line…It should the the Democratic Party’s decision, not Richard Pope’s, as to who their standard bearer is in an election. That decision is made by grassroots party members first in caucuses, then, in some areas, district caucuses, then county conventions where delegates elected at caucuses come together to decide what candidate will run with the party’s blessing, endorsement, and, hopefully, support.

Decisions of the Democratic Party should be made by Democratic Pary activists, not one lone and very embarrassing wolf who conveniently dons the Democratic mantle for his own momentary amusement and edification.

    The Piper

  18. 28

    YLB spews:

Richard Pope will win because people are fed up with “the big con” from the Republicans.

The word “conservatism” is being associated with lies, propaganda, hypocrisy and extremism from outfits like BIAW – people are sick and tired of it.

Richard Pope’s victory will do little damage to the Dems on the council but will be a huge blow to Republicans in King County (as if things could be worse for them). The fallout could carry over a bit into the rest of the state.

  19. 29

    Piper Scott spews:

Did you catch the P-I’s editorial this morning where Pope was criticized for not having “the social skills” to sit on the King County Council?

    Talk about a damning assertion!

I’d be surprised if even The Stranger endorses him…

YLB, you’re deluded; too much taking Harry Potter literally?

    The Piper

  20. 30

    righton spews:

Goldy, maybe you can mooch off a story on the morning news shows…story about “Washington state” dept of “human traficking”

wt heck does a state need to piss away money on a federal problem..? or do we have slavery happening between wa. state citizens inside our state?

  21. 31

    chadt spews:

    Piper Scott:

For an asshole enemy of progressives and decent people, here you seem to think it’s somehow YOUR place to tell us how we should run our affairs.

Now just what gives a sanctimonious piece of shit like you the privilege to come here and tell US what to do?

  22. 32

    Roger Rabbit spews:

“7PM: Should it be harder to raise taxes for schools, than for parks, roads, and other levies?”

That’s the wrong question. The relevant question is, “Should each of the plethora of jurisdictions with taxing authority be able to impose taxes without coordinating with each other or considering the total burden imposed by all taxing jurisdictions on individual taxpayers?”

This, in a nutshell, is the problem: Each family has a budget with only so much money to spend, and if we spend more on X then we have to spend less on Y, but the array of governments (federal, state, municipal, school districts, port districts, LIDs, SIDs, etc.) tax us without regard to our ability to afford the cumulative taxation, each thinking only of its own spending wants.

I submit that until this problem is gotten under control, questions such as whether school levies should require a 50% or 60% majority will remain nuances, and people like Tim Eyman will thrive. And, quite likely, popular programs like schools, parks, and libraries will continue to be manipulated by tax-hungry politicians who cut these programs first to coerce us to pay taxes for the things THEY want, and quite possibly, school levies will continue to fall victim to the practical politics of a screwed-up taxing system.

Because, you see, when taxpayers are pushed to the wall by high taxes to support extravagant spending on things like sports stadiums and gold-plated freeways, they will vote to limit the only taxes they CAN control: School taxes. It ain’t fair, but it’s the real world.

The fact is, we shouldn’t even be discussing school levies at all, because there shouldn’t be any school levies on the ballot, ever. Schools should be fully funded by the legislature. But for that to happen, we need fundamental reform of our state tax system.

The problem with our state tax system, of course, is that those in the lowest 20% income bracket pay 17% of their income to state and local taxes, while those in the highest 20% income bracket pay only 4%. Making it easier to impose higher school taxes on those in the lowest 20% bracket may look good on paper, but it’s not a long-term solution for either school funding or tax fairness.

I submit the wrong proposition is on the ballot. Instead of referendum making it easier to pass school levies, the legislature should have given us a constitutional amendment allowing a state income tax.

  23. 33

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@1 Why should you be allowed to choose the candidates of a party you disagree with and vote against?

  24. 34

    Piper Scott spews:

You really are an angry, insecure person…

I didn’t say anything Dwight Pelz and other Democrats haven’t said. Partisans on both sides of the aisle have a common cause on this issue.

Now…instead of betraying your level of intelligence and sophistication with your gutter language and vituperation, tell me where my analysis and opinion are wrong?

Or is your only skill – what little you have, BTW, since there’s not an ounce of wit or cleverness about you – insulting people?

    The Piper

  25. 35

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@1 (continued) Don’t get me wrong … I personally love the blanket primary. I love to vote in Republican primaries. If it were up to me, the 2008 GOP presidential candidate would be Richard Pope.

  26. 36

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@3 What’s wrong with Richard Pope? He’s the best candidate the Washington State Republican Party ever had. He runs for something in every election cycle; he provides his own funding and campaign volunteers, asking nothing of the party; and he consistently outpolls the party’s up-ticket, big-name candidates. Of course, all that says is that the GOP’s candidates consistently suck …

  27. 37

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Before you start laughing at the notion of a President Richard Pope, think about this: He couldn’t possibly screw up worse than the Current Occupant.

  28. 38

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Besides, Richard Pope is a smart guy. The only thing wrong with him is he has some personal issues.

  29. 39

    Roger Rabbit spews:

So, what’s Richard Pope wanted in Texas for? Have they issued an extradition request, or are they merely hoping he’ll stay in Washington?

  30. 40

    Puddybud spews:

Righton: Why not? Remember Righton we are told over and over this is a blue state. Google it (Puddy remembers) and see how many of those who whack-left say that. We know in other blue states, human traffiking has occurred especially in those “blue cities”. California has been trying to attack the problem for a long time. Remember those railroad cars with Chinese people inside? Maybe someone in FUWA knows something is about to “break”.

I suggest y’all purchase the book “The Beast on the East River”. Here’s the reason why. Do you remember this?:

“Kathryn Bolkovac was a former Lincoln, Nebraska, policewoman who worked for UN security in Bosnia as an employee of the American security company DynCorp. As part of her job, Bolkovac uncovered massive sex corruption, human trafficking, and prostitution rings in which UN officials and policemen were active participants. Girls as young as fifteen were sold into sex slavery to bar owners, where they were forced to dance naked and perform sex acts for their owners and bar customers. If they refused, they were locked up, starved, beaten, and raped.

In 2000, having failed to get any satisfactory investigative action by informing her immediate superiors, Bolkovac sent an e-mail to Jacques Paul Klein, the head of the UN mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In it she described the role of UN officials in exploiting the women they were supposed to be protecting from the sex trade.

Soon after sending the e-mail, Bolkovac was demoted and removed from front-line investigative police work. In 2001, she was summarily fired, allegedly over “time sheet irregularities.” She denies that charge and says she was fired for exposing the corruption of the UN mission in Bosnia. Bolkovac told a court in England that Mike Stiers, the deputy commissioner of the international police task force, had been flippant in dismissing the victims of the sex trade as “just prostitutes.””

Fair use clause by Pelletmaker. http://nathantabor.com/excerpt/page3.html

Probably don’t remember this right? It happened long ago. Who hired Dyncorp to work in Bosnia.? Well this was before 2001 soooooooooo can’t blame those whom think right!

  31. 41

    chadt spews:

Well, Mr, Judgmental, there’s no point in addressing claims by preachers, which is what you are You’re a pompous ass who comes here to tell us lesser folks how to emulate your superior ways (you’ve said as much), and any attempt to convince us that you’re here for a discourse or exchange of ideas is pure bullshit. You’re just another troll.

  32. 42

Proud To Be An Ass spews:

@32: Agree wholeheartedly. Good post. My disagreement on this issue (tax reform) with local Dem officeholders verges on apoplexy as I am constantly reminded by them (in person no less) that a state income tax is “not doable”, giving them a convenient and odious excuse to never bring the issue up publically.

    This they call leadership.

  33. 44

Proud To Be An Ass spews:

@3: Agree in part. Open primaries are a joke. Although I am of the opinion that publically financed party primaries do serve the social good, and the cost is minimal.

Caucuses are generally controlled by the more committed (polite way of saying extreme) party members. Also, they are subject to abuse–although machine politics does have a few good points, too.

  34. 45

    Roger Rabbit spews:

“9PM: Is Rudy Giuliani ‘white enough?'”

Who cares what color Giuliani is. Is anyone out there paying attention to his wife?

It’s a relevant question, because if he becomes president, she’ll be next in the line of succession. (It used to be that presidents were succeeded by their vice presidents at party nominating conventions, but now they’re succeeded by their first ladies.)

Mrs. Giuliani is a piece of work, a prize package. Born and raised in a Pennsylvania coal mining town, she turned out to be a social climber and golddigger par excellence. It didn’t take her very long to leave her humble roots (and nursing career) behind. At the age of 20, she eloped with a wallpaper salesman. He was what you might call a “starter husband.” Four days after divorcing him, she married a medical supplies salesman. After divorcing him, she mooched off friends until she snared a psychologist to shack up with. She dumped him to grab herself a millionaire mayor (Giuliani), becoming a homewrecker in the process.

This is what some Republicans want to install in the White House as the next First Lady of the United States?

President Giuliani would have to think twice about letting her go out of the country on diplomatic visits. She might elope with Prince Bandar.

  35. 46

    Puddybud spews:

Piper Scott says: “@31…Chadt… You really are an angry, insecure person…”

Yes, plus he is already past four sigma in stupid commentary. With that one he’s at .99454 and climbing.

Piper – chadt is one of the newest three stooges: stupid choir, chadt and YLB – The Clueless One. Sorry Moe, Curly and Larry.

  36. 49

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not criticizing Rompin’ Rudy’s judgment in the delicate matter of deciding who to dump his assorted wives for. In fact, I think they’re made for each other — he deserves someone like her, and she deserves someone like him.

In fact, I’m thinking the First Lady Judith should think twice about letting President Rudy go out of the country on diplomatic visits. He might elope with Benazir Bhutto.

  37. 51

    Puddybud spews:

Awww Poor Stooge chadt@48. Showing your true colors with a tinge of racism. I knew I could wear you down enough to demonstrate how you really think!

  38. 52

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@25 Don’t worry, FnF, they don’t own the military as much as they think they do. In fact, no one really knows how soldiers vote, because for years the Pentagon has prohibited news organizations, academics, and polling firms from conducting political polls of the active military. So everyone is operating on guesswork with regard to how soldiers vote. This, of course, plays into the wingnut organ grinder monkey’s hands because there are no facts available to refute their screeching. The only thing we know for sure is that the Republican National Committee spends a lot of money and effort to keep soldiers from voting (risking prison terms in the process). http://tinyurl.com/jv9nf

Maybe they know something the screeching monkey @23 doesn’t.

  39. 53

    ratcityreprobate spews:

Not to worry about the Piper, left to their own devices Washington State Republicans nominate the likes of Pat Robertson, Bob Williams, Ellen Craswell and John Carlson. Now that is a line up of certifiable nut cases. They make Pope look moderate, centrist, intelligent, reasonable and electable.

  40. 54

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@27 “It should be up to the Democratic Party to decide who their candidate will be.”

The Democratic Party brass and all potential candidates had that opportunity, and as of 5 minutes before the filing deadline, their response was “none.” And who the hell are they to say whether Richard Pope can decide he’s had enough of the GOP and would rather be a Democrat?

  41. 55

    Puddybud spews:

    Chadt Now at .99458.

Racist? I work with lots of black folks, and you are certainly unlike any of them, and from what I gather of their views, you are a traitor to their race. What your race is, I wouldn’t know, other than what you claim. It seems inconsistent with anyone other than Clarence Thomas; but then, I don’t believe any of your other shit, either.

  43. 57

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@29 “Did you catch the P-I’s editorial this morning where Pope was criticized for not having ‘the social skills’ to sit on the King County Council?”

And Jane Hague does? And — not to put too fine a point on it — Richard Pope’s social skills are no worse than Motherbeater Irons’.

  44. 58

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@30 This probably has something to do with the fact that Bush is slashing FBI funding to preserve tax breaks for billionaires and prolong his recreational war in Iraq.

  45. 59

It was a bifurcated post, clearly. People who can READ ENGLISH will have seen that it’s the second half of #43. Why it bifurcated can probably be explained by a moderator, I don’t know.

    Chadt, do you have friends?

Go ahead and give ALL your money to a wasted cause; might as well run dollar bills through a shredder for all the good it will do. Pope is a loser…birds of a feather…

$5 less dollars to the DNC and, ultimately, Hillary’s campaign.

Speaking of which…anyone catch SNL last night? Was Hillary ever outed as the ruthless politician she is. SJ has opined to me that she’s the most conservative Republican in the entire field. I won’t go so far as to say that, but she is sounding more and more like a neo-con every day.

And the way Bill was skewered as a publicity hound? Too funny…No Democratic candidate was spared her icy scorn…albeit in a chuckling sort of way.

    Waaa haaa haaa haaa haaa!

  58. 75

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@68 Clearly, you’re paranoid, pudwhacker. First of all, you’re overlooking the fact that Darryl has whacked some of my posts, too. Secondly, if you are being disproportionately erased, it may have something to do with the qualitative aspects of the content. Third, I do not receive food stamps. I live on a pension that comes from money that was taken from my paychecks. There is not one cent of federal or state subsidy in my household’s income (although you would have a hard time finding a member of Dubya’s cabinet who wasn’t a CEO of a corporation that did get tax-supported welfare). I will, however, admit to having received food stamps once in my life. I received food stamps for one month, in the amount of $28, immediately after I returned to the United States from Vietnam. The salary for combat soldiers wasn’t much in those days — $258 a month, to be exact — and, if you don’t mind my saying so, I felt entitled to the $28 of food stamps. However, I wouldn’t put it past you to demand that I give the $28 back to DSHS, now that I have a pension income I worked 30 years for.

  59. 78

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I had to pay DSHS $10 for the $28 of food stamps, so they really gave me only $18. It was my country’s way of thanking me for my service, or something like that.

  60. 79

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@77 I didn’t know that about Mrs. Rabbit when I married her, and it’s too late to do anything about it. Furthermore, it’s none of YOUR business.

  61. 80

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Besides, computer keyboards hadn’t been invented yet when I married her, so it would have been a difficult problem to foresee.

  62. 81

    Puddybud spews:

chadt: Exactly. We graduated from drinking that kool-aid when we saw nothing from the DNC was being done for my people! As others open their eyes, now > 11% of the black population, more will wake up!

  63. 82

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@72 “He’s just a preacher. With delusions of European Grandeur.”

He sure fooled me! I thought he was just another wingnut blowhard.

  64. 84

    chadt spews:

It was impossible to forsee Puddy, too, until after we stepped in it. Then we knew with the next inhalation.

  65. 85

    Puddybud spews:

Chadt I have delusions of European Grandeur. It was John Effin Kerry who wanted us to emulate Europe.

    You know:

    Red light zones

    Drugs from “coffee houses”

Sex with children as young as 12.

    That’s the Donkocraptic Party!

  66. 87

    YLB spews:

Pope was criticized for not having ‘the social skills’

Drunk driving and cussing out police officers are obviously the social skills people like you support.

I could care less about Pope’s social skills – he does little to no damage to Dems. It’s RepubliCONS like Hague, like Irons, like anyone BIAW lurves that I want to see turned out.

Deluded? LMAO!!!! You’ve been reading the fairy tale called neo-con talking points for longer than I care to know.

And you embarrass and diminish yourself every single time you recite those childish fantasies.

  67. 88

    Puddybud spews:

Pelletmaker@75: Awwww poor poor bunny. Can’t take the heat over “food stamps” yet will impugn my wife’s character?

You really are a piece of work! You must be the center bunny!

  68. 90

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@81 What have RepubliCONS done for “your people” lately? All the racists are in the GOP now; what do “your people” think of you being in bed with that crowd? How does it feel to know that 89% of “your people” think you’re full of shit?

  69. 94

    YLB spews:

Hey PuddyLoser why don’t you share with us your propaganda reading material for the week:

    Wingnut Daily?
Murdoch Publications: NY Post, Weekly Standard?
    WSJ Editorial Page?
    WAPO Editorial Page?
    Conrad Black Bullshit?
    Brent Bozell Bullshit?
    NRO Whackos?

You’ve been mainlining that right-wing junk for a long, long, long time PuddyLoser.

  70. 95

    Puddybud spews:

Pelletmaker@92: “@50 You never disappoint me, pudwhacker. I’d love to meet YOUR significant other sometime. What’s his name?
    09/30/2007 at 10:31 am”

I have stated many times I am married to a beautiful woman. Did you forget that too Pelletmaker?

  71. 96

    Puddybud spews:

Another of the Stooges just appeared @94. No it was the WA Po and NY Times review of Hilary’s book, jackASS!

  72. 97

    Roger Rabbit spews:

While I tend not to think of Hillary Clinton and Mother Teresa in the same thought, I would vote for Hillary in a flash simply because Puddinghead, Piper, Rush and Sean, and the rest of the wingnut crowd deserve her.

  73. 98

    Puddybud spews:

chadt@91: Yes, with his “wonderful commentary” we know Pelletmaker is NOT “human”.

Thanks for confirming that chadt. Still at .99454

  74. 99

    YLB spews:

I glad you brought Hillary up.

Let’s hear some more of that “radical feminist” paranoia you’re so famous for.

Let’s hear some more of that fear and loathing of “Code Pink”. Woo! Hoo! That lights your fire.

Let’s hear so more of that ugly crap about “Rosie O’Donnel and the View”. Oooooo. Nothing gets Puddy so ugly as a shot of Rosie.

Now there Hillary! Oooooooooooooh! Lordy! Watch out! Post after post after post after post after post! That woman is bigger threat to Puddy’s manhood than the wife with a rolling pin!

  75. 100

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Actually, if they had any brains, they would support Hillary because she’s the Democratic candidate least likely to stick it to them. She’s the Democratic candidate who is getting financial support from corporate PACs and former Bush fundraisers. She’s the Democratic candidate who has “negotiate and compromise” written all over her. She’s the Democratic candidate who voted for Bush’s war authorization. She’s the Democratic candidate most likely to give the private sector a seat at the health care reform table, despite its abysmal record of failure, and least likely to propose something resembling what our righty friends are fond of mischaracterizing as “socialized medicine.” I personally prefer either Barack or John Edwards to her, and I note with gladness in my heart that the latest Gallup poll shows the Democratic race tightening in Iowa, with both of those candidates gaining on Hillary. However, if it turns out that Hillary cops the Democratic nomination, I will vote for her simply because Republicans hate her.

  76. 102

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@98 I’m not sure what expectations you had when you invited yourself to this blog, but it shouldn’t surprize you that we rabbits are more civilized than you humans are.

  77. 103

    chadt spews:

“chadt@91: Yes, with his “wonderful commentary” we know Pelletmaker is NOT “human”.”

    He says he Roger RABBIT.

What a fucking IDIOT you are. OF COURSE he’s not human.
He’s a LAGOMORPH. And you’re a REPTILE. What’s difficult about elementary zoology, Dr. Einstein?

  78. 104

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Wow! This thread is already over 100 posts! That’s more than Stefan’s sucky little jihad blog* gets in a week.

    * See, e.g. …

“Congratulations Speaker Pelosi, now let the bombs fall where they may. My prediction: terror attack on domestic soil passenger aircraft within the next six months. Casualties in the 2-300 range. And, unfortunately, maybe that’s just what we need. It’s obvious people don’t remember what happened 5 years ago.”

  79. 105

    Puddybud spews:

YLB – The Clueless One, speaking about Code Pink – Weren’t they the ones who told Hilary get out of Iraq now? Hilary’s response – Maybe in 2013. Waaaa haaaa haaaa haaaa haaaa!

Rosie O’Dennell – Has a brother of the same persuasion who is a gay NY state legislator. Ridiculed by many on the left and right?

Yet I thought we put this to rest two weeks ago when I placed six black conservatve women, many of whom have been ridiculed by leftist pinkos!

  80. 106

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@99 Don’t overlook Nancy Pelosi! Thinking about Pelosi makes puddy wet his pants.

  81. 107

    chadt spews:

Puddy has the Clarence Thomas approach to women: Harassment and abuse. He probably named his daughter “Anita”.

  82. 109

    Puddybud spews:

chadt: Ever heard of metaphors? He thinks he’s a rabbit. Rabbits are not hired as FUWA lawyers.

    DumbASS! .99461

  83. 110

    chadt spews:

And you evidently think you’re intelligent. And you’re NOT a FUWA lawyer. You’re just a delusional creep.

  84. 111

    YLB spews:

Like Bill, Hillary will be a Republican president – that’s why I don’t support her.

So Puddy why don’t you save us some time and give me that sigma 5 whatchamacallit crapola?

Give it here! No don’t hold back now! Give it here! Don’t say nothing just give it here c’mon give it here c’mon give it here c’mon!

  85. 113

    Roger Rabbit spews:

So You Think You Saw Sputnik?

    Well, you didn’t.

“MOSCOW (AP) – When Sputnik took off 50 years ago, the world gazed at the heavens in awe and apprehension, watching what seemed like the unveiling of a sustained Soviet effort to conquer space and score a stunning Cold War triumph.

But 50 years later, it emerges that the momentous launch was … a spur-of-the-moment gamble driven by the dream of one scientist, whose team scrounged a rocket, slapped together a satellite and persuaded a dubious Kremlin to open the space age.

And that winking light that crowds around the globe gathered to watch in the night sky? Not Sputnik at all … but just the second stage of its booster rocket, according to Boris Chertok, one of the founders of the Soviet space program.”

  86. 114

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Also, that little beeping sound you heard back in October 1957 was puddy’s mother laying an egg.

  87. 116

    chadt spews:

On the other hand, Piper, who wants to be an Aristocrat, sounds like a Queen (he should only break a heel), so who knows….

  88. 118

    YLB spews:

I placed six black conservatve women

If like you they believe women should be in shackles and men over a barrel then they deserve all the ridicule people can muster.

  89. 119

    Puddybud spews:

Yeah, Janice Rogers Brown and Condoleeza Rice need to be in shackles?

Only in the sick mind of YLB – The Clueless One

  90. 120

    Puddybud spews:

Yes YLB – The Clueless One calls Hilary a future “Republican” president.

    With her stated positions?

Waaaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa haaaa haaaa haaa haaa haaa

  91. 121

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Obama Leads Clinton In Iowa Poll

“Sept. 29, 2007 – Sen. Hillary Clinton holds a double-digit lead over her rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination in many national polls. But in Iowa, home to the January 2008 caucus that is the first major event of the electoral season, the Democratic race is much tighter, according to the latest NEWSWEEK Poll. … Among … likely caucus-goers, Obama enjoys a slim lead, polling 28 percent to best Clinton (24 percent) and Edwards (22 percent).”

  92. 122

    Puddybud spews:

Pelletmaker: Why don’t you ask Hilary, John and Obama if they will have a black SoS or a black NSA in “their” administration instead of the standard jobs they give blacks like Bill Clinton did!

I wait for that answer. Maybe it will be as intriguing as the latest troops out of Iraq answer last Moonbat! debate!

Waaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa

  93. 123

    YLB spews:

You believe in limiting their reproductive choices. You probably believe like most companies in this country that it’s ok they make less money than a man for the same work.

I know you believe in the former and if you say you don’t believe in the latter you won’t do anything about it because then all your right-wing friends will dump you for being “lefty” or a “feminist”.

    Can’t have that, can we?

Now lay that sigma 5 bull crapola on me. Don’t hold back now Puddy! Give it there!

  94. 124

    YLB spews:

    With her stated positions?

Out of Iraq in 2013? Compared to Bill Richardson – like NOW!

Yeah that’s a Republican position to me.

  95. 125

    Puddybud spews:

YLB – The Clueless One – Those are not my positions. Go back and see what I said. Clue for you Donkoinfanticide!

    Search the blog.

  96. 126

    Puddybud spews:

YLB The Clueless One – You brought up Code Pink, remember? Go back and read the speeches regarding what she said!

  97. 127

    YLB spews:

the standard jobs they give blacks like Bill Clinton did!

Cabinet level positions? Secretary of Commerce? Secretary of Labor (after Reich resigned), Surgeon General?, Secretary of Veterans affairs? Secretary of Transportation? Secretary of Agriculture (you wingnuts had a lot of stupid fun with him)?

Almost had Attorney General if it wasn’t for you poopy head right wingers.

  98. 128

    YLB spews:

Bill Clinton didn’t have an ounce of race prejudice in him. All kinds of black folks worked in his administration, in his cabinet, in all the government departments and in his West Wing. After it was over they all went back to their communities never forgetting what a leader of the Democratic Party had done for them.

Sorry Puddy you and your out of mainstream views lose again.

  99. 129

    YLB spews:

Go back and read the speeches regarding what she said!

Yes, that is why I don’t support her for her too cautious views designed to comfort skitterish swing votes who are constantly manipulated by fear mongers ON YOUR SIDE.

  100. 130

    Jesse MacBeth spews:

    Roger Rabbit says:

@25 Don’t worry, FnF, they don’t own the military as much as they think they do. In fact, no one really knows how soldiers vote, because for years the Pentagon has prohibited news organizations, academics, and polling firms from conducting political polls of the active military. So everyone is operating on guesswork with regard to how soldiers vote.

Hear, hear. As a liberal I care very deeply about our fighting men and women. I just dont want them voting. Peace.

  101. 131

    Puddybud spews:

YLB – The Clueless One. The SoS and NSA are the plumb jobs. They went to White People! The other positions are not much in power!

  102. 132

    Puddybud spews:

Where did I say Clinton was a racist. Never said it. Search the ASSWipes archives.

Now I have asked questions of the others in the Donkocraptic party.

  103. 133

    Puddybud spews:

So Moonbat!s how do you feel about this:

“After state courts earlier Thursday refused to halt the capital punishment, Turner’s lawyers went to the Supreme Court, which on Tuesday agreed to review an appeal from two condemned inmates in Kentucky who argued that the three-drug process used in lethal injection is unconstitutionally cruel. The same procedure is used in Texas.”

Fair use clause per Pelletmaker the “Faux” Bunny!

“Turner was 19 when authorities said he shot Carlton Turner Sr., 43, and Tonya Turner, 40, several times in the head. He then bought new clothes and jewelry and continued living in the family’s Irving home.”

Puddy Commentary: Did he worry about the pain and suffering he caused his parents when he shot them in the head?

    I love Moonbat! thought. NOT!

  104. 135

    YLB spews:

    133 – I don’t know this guy’s story at all Pwhacks so I won’t comment too much.

For all I know maybe he thought his parent’s politics were too liberal.

I don’t believe in the death penalty so it’s appropriate if he’s indeed guilty of this crime he should be removed from society until he’s an old man – his life for the lives he’s taken.

Like Morgan Freeman in “The Shawshank Redemption”.

  105. 137

    YLB spews:

    Those are not my positions.

Oh so you believe in reproductive options for women: plan b, ru486 and any elective procedure shy of the first trimester not to mention every form of contraception in the book from condoms to tubal ligation. You’re also for procedures that save the lives of women and in the cases of rape and incest.

Welcome to the club Puddy. The club of freedom and first class status for women.

  106. 139

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Bush has demonstrated that he’ll appoint persons of color to high positions — as long as they shine his shoes for him.

  107. 140

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Bush also has advanced the aspirations of immigrants by making it possible for them to continue working in America for $5.15 an hour.

  108. 141

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Bush also has advanced the aspirations of Mexicans who stay in their own country by moving American jobs there so they can work in auto plants for $1.25 a day.

  109. 142

    Roger Rabbit spews:

@133 “Fair use clause per Pelletmaker the “Faux” Bunny!”

Dear serial plagiarizer: Either pay royalties for use of my literary work, or write your own damn “fair use” clause! Fucking kleptomaniac.

  110. 144

    Piper Scott spews:

Aristocrat? Heavens to Betsy no! I glory in Aaron Copeland’s “Fanfare For the Common Man.”

You are the one who continually denigrates as less than human all who disagree with you, which is the hallmark of an insecure elitist.

    I don’t think I’m better than anyone; I just think you’re wrong.

And I do have many Democratic friends, including some who hold elective office. Do you? Have friends, I mean?

    The Piper

  111. 145

    Puddybud spews:

Piper: chadt may be a insecure elitist but from his many worthless posts he is a secure idiot!

  112. 146

    Piper Scott spews:

You’ll notice I haven’t defended the actions or behavior of the incumbent…

Yet you don’t address the salient fact that the most liberal daily paper in the PNW STILL dumps on Richard Pope saying he lacks “the social skills” to serve on the KCC.

We’re not talking things like knowing which fork to use or whether he bathes regularly; he’s simply, in the P-I’s words, “…an insultingly bad choice.”

Now…the P-I is similarly critical of the incumbent, and I have no quarrel with much of what it says; that’s never been my point at all.

Richard Pope has demonstrated a singular lack of qualifications to hold elective office, and this assertion isn’t mine, it’s the opinion of the Municipal League, the King County Bar Association, and, as of last week, the KING COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY, which refused to endorse him.

YLB…I have $100 straight up that Richard Pope will not be elected to the KCC. Will you, YLB, put up or shut up?

    The Piper

  113. 148

    Piper Scott spews:

I’ve found many of your posts to be both thoughtful and interesting. You can be an articulate and forceful advocate of your POV when you want to be. I respect anyone who seeks to use data, reasoning, and careful thought to advance a position.

Certainly this is preferable to the potty-mouthed rants, sophomoric insults, and genuine hatred that emanates from several of your ideological fellows here at HA.

Now, I’m here because I choose to be here; I like the challenge and the exercise. The invective hurled my way only serves to embolden me and convince me that I’m really on to something; stuck pigs howl, and the stucker they are, the more they howl!

I harbor no personal ill-will toward anyone, and, yes, absolutely, I have many good friends with whom I disagree on nearly all things political. What’s the point of surrounding yourself only with those of like mind or persuasion? How shallow is that?

So…to all of you, take your best shot…but you might try putting some powder in your muskets when next you fire…You might try to at least make it interesting!

Still curious…any of you see SNL last night? No matter who your Demo prexy candidate is, he, and especially she, got skewered good!

    The Piper

  114. 149

    YLB spews:

Oh my Gawwwwd!!! This is such a freaking target rich environment if weren’t so miserably DISGUSTING!

Three words for you Pooper: THE INNOCENCE PROJECT.

I’m not a betting man and the stench Mark the bet welSHing Redneck left around here does not make me want to start. I suggest you take up the offers of the other folk at the odds proffered which you so far have not accepted.

    Go Richard!

  115. 150

    Chadt spews:

    Piper Preacher:

You can deny that you’re an aristocratic wannabe, but your posts say otherwise. Continually. You may think your shit doesn’t stink and that your critics are all pottymouths, but we smell you all too well and call you and Puddy as we see you. If you weren’t offesnive we wouldn’t bother.

You are just a pompous windbag masquerading as an intellectual.

Condemnation by you and Pudster is an affirmation that we’re doing our jobs here.

I don’t see a lot of people rushing to the defense of either you or your co-troll.

That, no doubt, you can easily explain away????

Keep hissing, your majesty, it’s getting amusing.

  116. 153

    Puddybud spews:

chadt: If you researched some point and provided concrete facts we’d have a great dialog. All you do is attack the messenger. Even your stooge brothers YLB and Stupid Choir deliver URLs to read now and then.

  117. 154

    Piper Scott spews:

I don’t condemn you; I genuinely feel sorry for you. Your rhetoric betrays a life filled with pain and disappointment. How tragic!

Still…if you would but engage in discussion with facts, analysis, reasoning, and some semblance of logic, you might find the exercise therapeutic.

I’m simply a fellow trying to make it through the day; I claim no pretense to status other than that I am a man of faith who values his freedom, a father, an American, someone of eclectic tastes, and…a piper!

And you’ve never answered the question: friends…have any?

    The Piper

  118. 155

    YLB spews:

    Even your stooge brothers

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

    Your delusions never quit Puddybud!

I’ll tell you whose stooge you are:

    You’re a stooge of Murdoch.
    You’re a stooge of Scaife.
    You’re a stooge of Moon
You’re a stooge of the Coors family.
You’re a stooge of the Koch brothers
You’re a stooge of the Hunt family.
    You’re a stooge of Smith-Richardson.
    You’re a stooge of Olin
    You’re a stooge of Bradley
    You’re a stooge of Regnery
You’re a stooge of Bob Perry.

If it’s wingnut and has a lot of dollar signs attached, you suck up to it.

You’re the stooge of the wingnut noise machine. You live and feed off it.

And you’re small fry. Hell even a stooge like Drudge has managed to get paid for it. And quite well.

But what the hell do I know? You might be getting a dollar a comment. Good for a little pocket change once in a while. Nice wingnut welfare if you can get it.

  119. 156

    chadt spews:

    Why bother???

  120. 157

    chadt spews:

I posted other stuff about your politicians and again you ran, RAN, RAN!
