State of denial

biawsuccess

In their latest monthly newsletter, the BIAW touts their recent “political successes,” including, apparently, the alleged 2004 election of Dino Rossi.

What a bunch of poor losers.

That’s pretty funny. Almost as funny as a quick look at that statewide win coulmn…

2004, we won a couple things some of which we actually lost.
    2005 – dick
    2006 – Nada
    2007 – Zilch
2008 – holy crap we’re getting our asses kicked.

Usually, you don’t toot your own horn if you’ve accomplished nothing in 4+ years!

Anyone see Boy Wonder Piyush “Bobby” Jindal on Meet the Press?

What a lying sack of shit.

First of all, he does his little grandstanding about not taking $98 million in raised unemployment benefits. But his state will be receiveing $7 billion from the Feds. So other than making it harder for the unemployed to feed their families, his little “make me president in 2012″ gambit won’t do shit.

Second, he lies about why he doesn’t want to take the money. He says:

The federal stimulus bill says it has to be a permanent change in state law if you take this state money. And so within three years the federal money’s gone, we’ve got now a permanent change in our laws, we have to pay for it, our businesses pay for it. I don’t think it makes sense to be raising taxes on Louisiana businesses during these economically challenging times.

The emphasis was mine. So how is a completely paid-for program that won’t req

    Daddy Love spews:

    LEt’s try that again…

The emphasis was mine. So how is a completely paid-for program that won’t require a dime of local money for three years “raising taxes during this economically troubling time?” NOW is the “economically troubling time,” and the Feds are paying every dime of it for the next three years!

Additionally, as Jim Carville said on the a later Sunday news program, if he has the political courage, Jindal can lobby to lower unemployment payments in three years. I wouldn’t bet on him having that courage, but to insist that somehow it can’t be done at all is just another lie on top of the other ones.

    Daddy Love spews:

But he’s taking $7 billion and making a stink over 2% of that amount as though he’s being so brave and principled.

    ArtFart spews:

Jindal is exemplary of what we can no doubt expect from the anything-but-loyal opposition for the next four years. Taking a clue from an overpaid, overweight, narcissistic drug addict, they’re going to do everything they can to drive the country into total ruin, in hopes they can convince what few Americans still have the strength to crawl to the polls to put them back in power.

The BIAW website seems to be having technical problems. I’ve looked at their site as recently as last week to see if they’d posted any newsletters but found nothing. In fact, it appeared that all previous newsletters had been removed last summer and that no new ones had been posted since. Is this one posted on their site?

    Daddy Love spews:

    More Jindal from MTP:

I think the president had a chance, if he had worked with the Republicans–instead of allowing Speaker Pelosi to write this bill, if he had worked with the Republicans to say, “Let’s really invest in infrastructure, let’s do targeted temporary spending, let’s do some tax cuts, let’s get the economy moving.”

Well, the president DID work with Republicans, as everyone in the country except ambitious GOP dunderheads knows. Several proviusions were reduced or removed from the package to accommodate GOP objections, as, again, we ALL know. And, at the end of the day, the Congress passed a bill that DOES “invest in infrastructure, let’s do targeted temporary spending, let’s do some tax cuts,” and they passed the largest middle class tax cut in history with a total of three Republican votes out of both Houses of COngress.

Piyush’s characterization of the bill is pure hogwash.

From what I’ve been hearing, the projected budget for DoD for next year will be still be higher thatn it was under Dumbya, just not as big an increase in terms of percentage as in years past. I can’t see a serious problem in reducing the overall size of the military, so long as the troops we keep in active service aren’t squandered in wasteful, unnecessary wars-for-profit. Y’know, like the one my wife’s two sons were sent to (repeatedly) in Iraq…..

And as for ‘honey-bee insurance’, read this:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.....e_Disorder

The potential impact of any further loss of commercial apiaries would be devastating on the global agricultrual system. Unless you hired millions of people to pollinate plants and trees by hand.

    Tricky Windows Worm Wallops Millions

“A sneaky computer worm that uses a virtual Swiss army knife of attack techniques has infected millions of Microsoft Windows PCs, and appears to be spreading at a fairly rapid pace, security experts warn.

“The worm, called “Downadup” and “Conficker” by different anti-virus companies, attacks a security hole in a networking component found in most Windows systems. According to estimates from Finnish anti-virus maker F-Secure Corp., the worm has infected between 2.4 million and 8.9 million computers during the last four days alone.”

@14: Puddy – you need to think bigger picture:
The topic is republican liars and Jindal and the BIAW fit right in. In fact, the topic of republican liars is so large that most other posts fir in here also.

  21. 30

    correctnotright spews:

@27: The difference is that if there had been a complete Florida recount – Gore would have won. but instead the Supreme court stepped in and pciked the President – and now we have the results of 8 years of republican mistakes and mismanagement.

In the case of Rossi, there was a recount and the honest republican USA John McCay found that there was no credible evidence of fraud – instead, we had lots of republican carping and no evidence that held up in court.

Poor losers are people who keep whining like little babies after they have legitimately lost. People who were screwed over are in a different catagory and ourt nation has suffered under the 8 years of Bush “doctrine”.

  22. 31

    correctnotright spews:

@22: Nice one – poor cynical thinks the economy is in good shape and Bush did a great job, hahahahaha. Keep whining cynical, Obama has been on the job for 2 months and you have written hundreds of derogatory missives – yet you just LOVE what bush did. You LOVE the record deficit of Bush. You love the corruption and the lies of Bush. You Love the unnecessary war in Iraq and the over 1 trillion wasted there.

    Hypocrite. You are sooooo pathetic.

Oh, and the american public – democrats and independents are liking Obama just fine:

64 percent of those polled back the economic recovery package and the same percentage backs the mortgage proposal.

Overall, 60 percent of poll respondents approve of how he is dealing with the economy.

About nine in 10 Democrats and seven in 10 independents said Obama is living up the central promise of his campaign and has succeeded in bringing change to Washington. Most Republicans, by contrast, said he has not.

Half of Americans said they approve of how congressional Democrats are doing their jobs, up 15 points from last July and the highest mark they have achieved in nearly two years

Yup – the sorry 25% can get lost. The only reason Obama has lost any support is the wingnut party is taking out their claws – but they are losing and becoming more of a minority every day. How does it feel to be an insignificant speck cynical?

    ArtFart spews:

32 “Spent every dime we ever had”…..HAR HAR HAR HAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!

Your boy Saint King Dumbfuck and the rest of the Republican graftmeisters already long since did that. All we’re debating about now is what the brand new money that’s being printed is going to be used for other than to make the Wall Street crooks even richer.

  25. 35

    ArtFart spews:

Most folks on the left and the right don’t quite seem to get it yet that “saving the economy” isn’t exactly an option any more. That’s like that C130 firefighting plane from a few years back–the wings have already fallen off. It’s time to stop serving more fucking lobster and Dom Perignon in First Class and start handing out the parachutes to everyone–or at least be honest and tell us all to kiss our asses goodbye.

Rogue Financier Stanford Linked to Fund Run by Bidens
    Monday, February 23, 2009

A fund of hedge funds run by two members of Vice President Joe Biden’s family was marketed exclusively by companies controlled by Texas financier R. Allen Stanford, who is facing Securities and Exchange Commission accusations of engaging in an $8 billion fraud.

The $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens’ Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and a Stanford Financial Group entity and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund. Stanford-related companies marketed the fund to investors and also invested about $2.7 million of their own money in the fund, according to a lawyer for Paradigm. Paradigm Global Advisors is owned through a holding company by the vice president’s son, Hunter, and Joe Biden’s brother, James.

Yet, the clueless village idiot wanted to make another worthless point. EPIC FAIL! Rick Sanchez of CNN was a real fool.
