It’s not absolutely certain yet, but it’s looking like we will continue to have a divided government in 2021. That is very good for the securities markets and other financial concerns, since what is really bad is capricious government regulations and meddling into the private financial affairs of American citizens.
Government often forgets that it is the process of wealth production and accumulation in the private sector that makes America a financial power in the world. Government is nothing without a strong and free private market system.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@1 Capricious, my ass. Idiots like you often forget that unregulated capitalism leads to runaway excesses followed by collapse and depression. “Free” markets with no rules or enforcement make no more sense than streets without crosswalks, signs, lights, or traffic cops.
You’re the guy who wants to drive 50 mph on a residential street posted for 25 where kids ride bikes and old people with walkers cross the street to their mailboxes.
But we can’t expect a wingnut like you to have any brains. You probably voted for Trump twice, too.
Elijah SFA McDotcom spews:
Such as restrictions on international trade, movement of goods and services across borders, tariffs, and seemingly incessant litigation over butt hurt feels, for example.
Such as sending goons in tactical BDUs in unmarked rental vans into our communities to kidnap pedestrians and rendition them, seizing funds from charitable campaigns and spending them on payoffs to porn stars or paying your son-in-law to hire a couple dozen of his propeller headed elitist college pals to squander a half a billion dollars, for example.
Our trolls are the dumbest trolls.
RedReformed spews:
And just like that, deJoy stopped breaking the post office once the election was over.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@3 “Our trolls are the dumbest trolls.”
I’ve been saying for years this blog is hurting for better trolls, but we never get them, only similar iterations of the same old blockheads. Maybe there aren’t any smarter trolls; maybe they’re all boxes of rocks.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@4 Probably just a coincidence. This had nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile, it’s kinda ironic that the candidate who fucked with the postal service to keep veterans from getting their prescriptions and Democrats from voting (often the same people) is complaining about “election fraud” and “rigged election.” Trump has enough brass to outfit an army.
Roger Rabbit spews:
How’s this for a “Donor Wants Kidney Back” story? A rich guy who funded Trump’s election fraud lawsuits claims he was defrauded and wants his money back.

I wonder if Florida will have a Democratic governor in 2023? This assumes, of course, there are enough survivors to hold an election.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Meanwhile,
“U.S. National Security Adviser Reportedly Gets Typhoid Mary Treatment In Vietnam”
“White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and his entourage were treated like COVID-19 contagion threats in Vietnam at the start of his travels to Southeast Asia, Bloomberg reported.
“He and his aides were relegated to a single floor in the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, where they stayed last weekend, and were tested by people in “head-to-toe” protective gear, according to Bloomberg. Meals were left outside their hotel rooms for them to retrieve.”

In other election news, apparently Rudy the rubber isn’t certified to argue in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and needs a special dispensation to do so.
Rudy has a problem. He’s there to provide the audiences in teevee land with some minimum of substance to keep their butts in the seats while Fat Donny keeps the grift going with the Spam email accounts that are all about just manufacturing a Capital harvesting operation that maintains that steady cash flow coming in from the rubes. The problem is, that no reputable Law firm is willing to work with the Fat Donny organization, several Lawyers have already quit and two major Law firms have told them to go pound sand, as it were, so it’s really all just for show. They know damn well they got smoked like a cheap cigar in this election.
No reputable Lawyer who wants to maintain a good reputation (not to mention their Law Licenses) is going to make the same sort of arguments the Fat Donny organization is attempting to make in the court of public opinion. Perjury is not something the Courts will ignore, especially when it comes out of the sort of Law Firms that require hundred-thousand dollar range retainers to take a case. When you’re hitting the client with $2500/hr you better be damn good at what you’re doing. Nobody with that sort of juice is going to touch a client who is ordering them to lie in open court or just use spurious arguments without substantial evidence to support them.
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Fat Donny has told them that they would be paid as soon as they win, but only if they win. With his reputation amongst a wide variety of public-relations firms and his credit rating probably hovering around the low 200’s and running out of options, the only thing Fat Donny has left is empty promises. He’s broker’n hell and it’s only a matter of time before someone does something drastic to get their money back. I suppose, given the nature of the sort of people he’s traditionally done business with for at least the last 30 years or so, that fitting his fat ass up with a pair of cement shoes is probably considered a viable option.

11,
nobody’s license to practice is at stake here, sadly.
Law is certainly one of the least regulated of professions. In most states you can only lose your license for fucking with client money. And then probably not permanently. Being shitty, dishonest, incompetent, or disinterested, all while pretending to be a professional, merely relegates you to the smaller, less lucrative clients and cases*.
Being seen that way can have the same effect. That’s why the large firms and the competent pros who specialize in election law are steering clear of the GOP now. It’s about annual billings and client retention. They just can’t afford to be associated with a dumpster fire like the GOP. It’s bad for business.
*Good to know if you ever really need a lawyer. Shop very carefully.

Trump has about a half a billion in loans popping off in the next 24 months. Having lost the election, and deprived of access to his most lucrative graft and corruption schemes, and stripped of his capacity to grant swampy benefits to his enablers, there is no longer any financial incentive to invest in the family, and quite a lot of risk.
Trump’s gradually unfolding dismal business future is a bellwether for the future of the GOP. They have incinerated their seed corn. And as they increasingly turn as an institution toward the desperate grubbing in trash cans of “public figures” like Matt Gaetz, more and more people will turn away and cross the street.
RedReformed spews:
@7. I quite enjoyed the factoid that the campaign would give him 1 million dollars of his 2.5 million dollars if he did not sue them. My question is do they think that big donors got to be rich enough to be big donors by being really bad at math?
Roger Rabbit spews:
@15 They may have reason to believe this donor is that bad at math.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@13 The GOP paid Davis Wright Tremaine $2 million (in 2004 dollars) to increase Gregoire’s 129-vote lead to 133 votes, or roughly $500,000 for each of the 4 votes their client lost in an election contest trial before a handpicked Republican judge in a forum-shopping Republican county.
It’s really, really hard to turn down clients like that; but I understand your point, there’s a breaking point. Clients like that can burn only so much donor money before they run out of donors.

There is a show on HULU called “PEN15.” With that title, I think they’re surreptitiously trying to spell PENIS and get away with it.

I doubt he’ll even be alive in a year. He’s a fat tub of greasy shit who has severely abused his body for his entire life. Cocaine fucks people up, especially over the long term. It wrecks the kidneys, the heart, the liver and most especially the brain. It’s a neurological toxin, and he’s been using it for 50 years at least.

Socialists? Bah! We must all become capitalists. Workers are obsolete, and wage earners are doomed. Companies will soon have no use for human beings. Covid-19 is accelerating the trend; many of those furloughed will never return. So far, the Trump campaign has paid $3 million for Biden to pick up 132 additional votes in Milwaukee County.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/27/politics/milwaukee-county-certifies-election-result/index.html
Roger Rabbit spews:
That’s not what this is about though. Trump’s donors are spending the big bucks to throw out tens of thousands of votes of American citizens who have every right to vote. Some of them probably are war heroes. The only thing wrong with them voting is they voted in a county Trump lost. Notice they aren’t challenging any votes from states or counties Trump won.
What do you suppose Republicans would say if Democrats went to court to throw out votes in red states and counties?
Roger Rabbit spews:
“Less than 24 hours after Donald Trump said he was ready to step aside for President-elect Joe Biden, he has reversed his position, claiming that Biden must first ‘prove’ he actually won the 80 million votes that states across the nation have tabulated in his favor. …
“The president-elect can ‘only enter the White House as President if he can prove that his ridiculous ‘80,000,000 votes’ were not fraudulently or illegally obtained,’ Trump tweeted Friday. He did not indicate how Biden was expected to prove the legitimacy of votes that have already gone through a certification process.”

Trump doesn’t get to make the rules, but that’s beside the point. No matter what he says, which changes daily, he won’t leave voluntarily. I wouldn’t even put a coup attempt past him.
