Rep. Ross Hunter (D-48) announces that he is running for King County Executive, and gives his first post-announcement interview on the Podcast. Ross explains why he is the best person for the position, what is right and wrong about the King County government, and what he will do to fix what’s wrong.
Changing into his Rep. hat, Hunter and the panel pick over the carcass of the freshly-ended legislative session—you know…the one that didn’t produce any tax reform, and cut to the bone. Following the nitty-gritty, the panel members give letter grades to the session.
Finally, the panel examines the remarkable transition of Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter from a Republican to a Democrat. The Philly contingent of the panel (i.e. Goldy and Ross) spins yarns about the corruption of that city’s political machine that would make a Chicago politician blush and actually drove Sen. Specter to become a Republican in the first place….
Goldy was joined by King County Executive candidate & state Rep. Ross Hunter (D-48), the Seattlepi.com’s Joel Connelly, and Effin’ Unsound’s & Horsesass’s Carl Ballard.

America’s support for President Obama is soaring. Mr. Klynical’s favorite, the Rasmussen Daily Tracking poll Approval Index is at +4, a 100% increase over what it was just last week. Poll internals reveal that the only people who disapprove of our nation’s president are America-hating Republicans, and nobody gives a shit what Republicans think about anything anymore.
Other polls show approval for President Obama at 73%. We all know who the 27 percenters are – America-haters like our Mr. Klynical.

Rumor has it that Puddy has lost heart and won’t be posting here anymore. Apparently, the thought of Senator Franken being the 60th Democrat in the senate was the just a little too much for him.

It’s The MONEY, Stupid!
After much loud grandstanding against President Obama’s stimulus package, Alaska Gov. Palin quietly took nearly all the money offered to her state, according to news reports.
The Associated Press reported this morning that Palin “will sign bills accepting most of the federal stimulus funds available to the state,” after publicly announcing that she would reject hundreds of millions of dollars.
So what changed? According to the AP: “Alaska’s Legislature conducted public hearings, and leaders said they couldn’t find any of the strings attached that Palin warned of.”
And what’s the spin now? Palin “never said she’s rejecting anything,” her spokesperson said.

@1 For years, Americans gaily played in the sandbox under the happy illusion that their homes and stock portfolios were going up in value. When the helium went out of that balloon and reality set in, they decided the adults know best after all and went back to voting for Democrats.

Another member of the far-right, worried that Obama was going to take his guns away, has killed two cops.
