As these documents are already available in the bank records, document submission is very, very easy, which is nice when something needs to happen quickly.
Each year I need to file all of my tax returns and a personal financial statement with my bank officer. I hate doing it; takes me a couple of hours. But once it’s done, doing something like getting a loan repricing is very simple. Worked to my advantage last month, when an interest rate on an existing loan was lowered 0.7% in less than a week. The difference between a Roth and a traditional IRA is that with a Roth you pay the taxes upfront, which means you have less money to invest and compound over time. NPR’s David Green reacting to the president’s suggestions that people guzzle bleach and shove lights up their asses refers to them as “throwing out ideas” and “jumping the gun on science”.
While over at the NYT the editors concluded that the most the could offer to characterize these suggestions from the president is that “in the view of some experts” shooting Pine Sol and eating glow sticks might be dangerous.
And here’s the thing to really consider. There’s not a lot of actual events to report on right now other than, you know, all the dying. The teams of editors at these organizations have plenty of time. These were not rushed decisions about how to contextualize these suggestions by the president that people to manifestly dangerous things. And they chose to equivocate about things around which there is no equivocation.
Media orgs like these, NPR and the NYT, are at the center of the right wing fable about liberal media bias. And essentially out of fear that reporting truthfully would make Trump and Trumpalos angry, they deny the truth. Whether for more clicks, or eyeballs, or whatever metric, or out of concern for maintaining their access to “official sources” they are lying to their audience. These are not the behaviors of credible, trustworthy news organizations.
