Serial Conservative spews:
The fallout from the 9/11 terrorist attack (Hillary said so, finally) by Al Queda on the Libyan Benghazi site is just getting started.
WaPo points out that the moves Team Obama is making have political undertones:
“For political reasons, it certainly was in the White House’s interests to not portray the attack as a terrorist incident, especially one that took place on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Instead the administration kept the focus on what was ultimately a red herring — anger in the Arab world over anti-Muslim video posted on You Tube. With key phrases and message discipline, the administration was able to conflate an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt — which apparently was prompted by the video — with the deadly assault in Benghazi.
Officials were also able to dismiss pointed questions by referring to an ongoing investigation.”
http://www.washingtonpost.com/....._blog.html
There might be some pretty tough questions about leaving our people unprotected on 9/11. Even the State Department on its own website posted a memo about ‘Terrorism and Important Dates’, and specifically referenced 9/11 in this post.
So that would look pretty bad, right, if the State Department wasn’t prepared on 9/11 despite posting that it was an ‘important date’?
Team Obama obviously thinks so. They removed that post from their website:
Bombshell: Obama Administration Deleted State Dept. Memo From Internet After Discovering Al-Qaeda Was Behind Benghazi Attack
http://www.thegatewaypundit.co.....zi-attack/
How obvious an admission of fault is this? Imagine the HA outcry if the GWB43 administration had done it.
Lib Despair continues to maintain that we should all just wait for the official report. Problem with that is that it’s been two weeks and the FBI is still in Tripoli. Apparently they haven’t been allowed into Benghazi yet, according to CNN.
So I’ll just have to point out what we do know.

Serial Conservative spews:
How bad is the economy tanking? Because of some revisions to earlier figures, monthly new job creation in the past five months is less than half of what it was in the previous year.
In a press release, the department said it would likely raise total employment by about 386,000 or 0.3% in the year from April 2011 to March 2012.
This is a bit over an average of 32,000 additional jobs per month, which would bring the average monthly job growth during that span up to 194,000 from 162,000
By contrast, the economy has added an average of just 94,000 jobs in each of the five months since March.
We had 3.1% GDP increase in 2011 Q4. This slowdown can’t be blamed on Bush.

I absolutely agree with Cap’n Crunch that the economy sucks.
However, fact #1, it is vastly better than it was 4 years ago.
And fact #2, people believe Democratic policies will continue to make things better; corollary of course that doctrinaire Republican policies were responsible for the economic catastrophe that occurred under Bush II (I actually wrote a typo “Bust II” that would have been accurate as well)
In the midst of a catastrophic evaporation of demand, what is needed is massive government borrowing at effective negative interest rates (ie we profit merely by holding the world’s money) and SPENDING on infrastructure and capital investments – power grids, wind and solar, trains, schools, libraries, teachers, fire and police, municipal governments – we all get really cool stuff that will pay for itself multiple times over decades, AND we put people to work right now.
Now, it’s clearly questionable that we will get this under a second Obama administration, particularly if the House stays in the crazygreedy peoples’ hands, but there’s NO CHANCE that anything like that will happen under Rmoney.
People know that Rmoney is out to fuck them over.

Some people do, yes. If this is that question 34 in the poll discussed on anther thread yesterday, it’s less than a ringing endorsement, for reasons discussed.
Yes, things were better than they were four years ago. But Obama didn’t pass TARP, Obama didn’t provide AIG, C, BAC large amounts of assistance (more than was needed, it’s turning out according to some reports), and he was the beneficiary of a quick response to an initial over-reaction.
Shorten your period of concentration – after all, in 2011 Q 4 we were in a decent recovery – and the justification for re-election is far less substantial.
Finally, I think it’s important to point out what no one around here ever mentions when they talk about how cheap it is to borrow large amounts of money at prevailing interest rates:

The bottom end of the housing market is recovering, in part because it’s oversold and people with cash who don’t want to invest in a 2-3% CD are buying small houses and renting them out for a 4-5% return in the form of rent and a likely 2-3% increase in valuation according to historic norms of home appreciation, in addition to the depreciation deduction they take.
That’s not a housing recovery. That’s opportunism.
Just about everything around me that’s a house under $200K is under contract.
Seattle is not the US. Looking around and seeing yard signs supporting Obama doesn’t mean he’s going to have a landslide victory.
Yes, there is some housing recovery. We’re nearing the end of the foreclosure crisis, unforeclosed inventory is thinning, and the easy money on oversold starter homes has been made. The rest now cost more.
That’s not an indication of an economic recovery, just an indication that people with cash did what they needed to do when their CD rates had plummeted and bond interest rates and pricing susceptibility to inflation are scary.
Nice try.

“Assume we have learned from that experience.”
There’s no evidence Republicans ever learn anything from experience. The rest of us knew better all along.
“Why would you support Obama’s efforts to do the same thing?”
There are many layers to the answer …
1) We support Obama, but not necessarily everything he does.
2) He’s better than any alternative we’ve been offered.
3) The premise of your question, that Obama is doing the same thing as Bush43, is incorrect.
4) In rough outline, Obama’s economic policies are similar to what FDR did to pull the U.S. out of the Great Depression, which more or less worked. The austerity approach favored by Republicans from Hoover to Romney has been shown to make things worse, so why would anyone do that?
5) To the extent Obama’s economic policies have fallen short of what might have been achieved, that is largely due to Republican obstructionists in Congress, so why blame that on Obama? We should blame that on the Republican obstructionists. And how much sense does it make to try to solve the problem of Republican obstructionism by voting for Republicans?
“Pointing to a guy you despise and saying ‘Bush did it, too.’ isn’t a defense of Obama. It’s an indictment ….”
Bush was despicable on many levels, such as his warmongering, authorizing torture and kidnapping and lying about it, borrowing from China to give unproductive tax breaks to billionaires, supporting job outsourcing and tax breaks for financial sharks who dismantled healthy companies, etc. But I will defend Bush on his bank bailouts, which conservatives and tea partiers hated, because those bailouts saved us from another Great Depression.

oh dear, it seems you aren’t following the logic. You are making the claim that Tarp (stimulus) worked. I agree. Obama’s stimulous also worked. (You can google for economists, professional economists not radio hosts who pretend to be economists, including a nobel winner who agree with that assessment.)

I think TARP worked. Once everyone is done doing their retrospectives it probably will turn out to be overkill. But clearly AIG needed support – the mark-to-market thing was killing them, as their assets were performing but just valued so low that their capital levels dropped dangerously.
I think ARRA created or saved some jobs. I think the manipulation of what jobs were put in those ‘saved’ categories is such that we’ll never agree on whether it was worth it. Hard to give credit to a program when the goal of capping unemployment of 8% was so divorced from the reality.
The money was spent unwisely and not swiftly. The market bottomed out and recovered before anything was disbursed and entered the economy. The trough was March 9th. Significant money didn’t hit the economy until a few months later. That’s not cause and effect in my book.
Have a good day, all.

@1 – if you watched the Rachel Maddow show, the day after the Libyan attack, you would have known that the attack was not related to the protests over the film trailer. So who cares. Only natural that in an election cycle that the Obama administartion would play it down. We are also learning more that the Bush Administration was being warned more of the 9/11 attacks before that event. So Politicians lie. They are all the same. But some worse than others. Republicans = Nazis
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
Are you stupid?
Well, don’t answer that, we know.
“Both sides do it” was Scotty Brown’s position with regard to the BLATANT RACISM that his staff orchestrated at a rally this week, when asked to apologize, which he has not done.
Doesn’t his racism bother you, puddl? What would your Jesus say about the tomahawk chops and the war whoops? Doesn’t that degrade his Native American children?

Nice link. You missed the point. If they think they have something they can file an ethics complaint. Why hasn’t the board exinerate Warren yet? Uh, there hasn’t been a complaint. But we do know what the lead council of the board that would hear such a non existent complaint thinks.
You can link to as many obscure right wing ‘legal’ blog posts as you like.
czechsaaz spews:
Hee, hee, this is rich. Puddy’s Oh No’s link is a rank legal amature. At least that’s my opinion.
In trying to claim Warren represented a Massachusetts Client in a Massachusetts court:
Why is this so funny? A first year law student is probably aware that the First Circuit Court of Appeals is a FEDERAL court. Sure, it’s physically located in Boston but it is not a Massachusetts state court.

Exactly you dumbASS checksez. Where does one represent a Massachusetts client in Massachusetts on a Massachusetts legal issue? The FEDERAL court is based at the John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston, Massachusetts.
dumbASS!
Puddybud spews:
Nope you missed the point checksez… This is a great issue against Warren. She can get an ethics judgment to clear her name. Why hasn’t she done that?
YLB spews:
Translation: stuck at #2.. IS #2.. Always has been and always will be..
czechsaaz spews:
No Puddy. You represent a Massachussetts client in the state of Massachusetts in the State Superior court.
You also represent any case that is originally heard in a state court in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island or Puerto Rico on appeal at the 1st circuit in Boston. But you are by definition NOT arguing a case in a Massachusetts court, you are arguing in a federal court. This shouldn’t be so hard for you to grasp moron.
@88
There has been no ethics complaint. Are you really so dense as to suggest that she file an ethics complaint against herself just so dopes like you can stop pointing to the fact that the Massachusetts bar hasn’t cleared her?
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
Mostly because the only sources of complaint are right-tard fever swamps, and puddl, a swamp to himself.
Don’t you think, if there were even a remote chance of this being real (which there isn’t) that some Republican lawyer would file a formal complaint.
Wonder why that hasn’t happened?

You’re losing focus. It doesn’t matter if she won or lost the case. Your original link argued that she had tried a case in a Massachusetts state court. Q.E.D. the First Circuit Court of Appeals is NOT and never has been a Massachusetts court
Having the judgment go against her client doesn’t change the fact that it’s a federal court. That’s the only point im making and once again piddles, you’ve dug in your heels when a not crazy person would notice they’ve misread something complicated.
If you’re going to continue, I must insist you explain how a federal court is a state court.
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
@99
puddl sez:
He then links to a legal ethics site, which appears apolitical. I take his meaning to be that liberals are inherently ethical, and certainly more so than Teahaddists. I agree.
The site in question, Ethics Alarms, seems fine, though the page puddl linked to is just a reprint of more Jacobson – the guy who is a right-wing partisan hack and who has been going after Warren for some time – the guy who originated the whole law license issue.
From the comments at puddl’s link comes a sentiment I share, and wrote above:
Put up or shut up, homeslice.
Puddybud spews:
Once again poor checksez, is arguing over the minutia and lost focus… even libtard lawyers are beginning to agree with the Cornell Law Professor. The original case was Mass Case Law moved to federal court. Since it started as Mass Case Law it holds she practiced in Mass!
Sucks to be your side!
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
Oop…I was wrong…about the proprietor of the website puddl described as ‘libtard’, and at first look that I thought appeared apolitical and innocuous.
A few quotes in the comments from the ‘libtard’ who runs that site:
Doesn’t sound like a ‘libtard’ to me. Sounds like someone giving cover to a hack like Jacobson while he tries to kneecap Warren, which he’s done in the past, and which comes just as Scotty needs a distraction from the attention on his “Native American Detector Vision”.
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
Still silence from puddl about the blatant racism shown by Scotty Brown, first when he told the world that Warren obviously wasn’t Native American because of the way she looks, and then releasing the racist hounds to tomahawk chop and war whoop at a warren rally – neither of which Scotty has apologized for.
Shameful, deeply depply shameful.
No, all day we’ve witnessed puddl dutifully carrying water for this racist, desperate to smear Elizabeth Warren in any way the fever swamp can cook up. Dutifully serving the right-wing as they stir up some of that really vile Boston racism, the stuff that slithers under the surface, not seen too much in the sunlight since the bussing riots, but there nonetheless.
As I said, shameful, and pathetic.
Puddybud spews:
Poor lib da dunce… First Ethics Alarms is a libtard lawyer hack who was dissing the Cornell law professor as a conservative hack. Then when he realizes there is smoke and fire… Lib da dunce discounts this libtard lawyer position.
Ya see Lib da dunce doesn’t pay attention. Ethics Alarms attacked the Cornell law professor from the beginning. Now he agrees with the Cornell law professor.
So typical when your position sucks!
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
@109
When are we going to hear that call from you for Scotty Brown to apologize for the blatant racism that his campaign has so desperately descended into?
Isn’t that a far bigger deal than this non-issue about Warren’s license? Isn’t it?
Or does Scotty really have “Native American Detector Vision”?
Liberal Scientist is a slut who occasionally wears a hoodie spews:
Puddl sez…
Please point to a link for that, because reading his blog just now, the first reference to Jacobson’s latest attack on Warren on that blog is this.
Take a look at that link, everybody, to a post titled…
…and bedecked with a Drudge-derived photoshop of Warren with war paint and a feather headdress.
When are you going to start reading your links, puddl? When are you going to stop trying to pass yourself off as someone who knows things, and who doesn’t just cut and paste what his betters command him to? (…and we all know you’re not a regular reader of Ethics Alarms, despite you voice implying familiarity, give up the fraud)
War paint and a feather headdress? Did you think that was funny?
When are you going to start having some self-respect and call bullshit on the racism the Republicans slither into whenever they feel themselves losing?
czechsaaz spews:
Oh Piddles, you are so ignorant and you don’t even know it.
No. If she was council on the case before the appeals process, you’d have a point. But, in everything I’ve seen quoted, and I’m willing to admit that some evidence could still come up that she was involved in the Massachusetts Superior case, just because the case originated in Massachusetts doesn’t make the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals a Massachusetts court.
there’s a fundamental difference between a state case and a Federal appeal that you are either too stupid to grasp or, as I suspect, you know you’re wrong and keep digging in so as not to admit it.
If Roger Rabbit argues a case before the 9th Circuit Court in Seattle, even if the case originated in Washington, he’s not arguing in Washington State Court
This should be clear to even the thickest of dullards. But naturally, I’m dealing with Piddly so it’s no wonder he doesn’t get it.
Michael spews:
Incase anyone needs help preparing for the second coming of Christ, I found a Mormon website that can help you out.
Puddybud spews:
And where did Puddy say that? The record is right in front of you. The Ethics Alarms dude (a libtard) also agreed with it. Only your simple little mind can’t process those facts.
Stay stoooopid checksez, you are an expert at stoooopidity!
Czechsaaz spews:
For fucks sake Puddy, keep up. That was my point. The ethics alarm guy wrote that the First Circuit proves Warren practiced before a state court. THAT’s why he, and you, are not smarter than a first year law student.
What you, and the linked post are insinuating is that you must be licensed in MA to appear before the FEDERAL appeals court. So you’re saying an attorney can’t argue before the Supreme Curt without being licensed in the district because that’s where the court is physically located. So no one who isn’t licensed in California can practice before the San Francisco based 9th circuit?
done.
Puddybud spews:
Notice how Lib da dunce attacks Puddy? The evidence is so compelling he has nothing else. Now why is that? Because the bells are pealing. Elizabeth Warren’s candidacy is going the way of Martha Coakley. People in MA are asking about her law “practice” and Lib da dunce attacks Puddy.
Sad so sad!
Puddybud spews:
Keep the faith checksez… Keep hoping for the best. Cuz Warren is dropping like a smelly turd. MA law is interesting… and it seems the Cornell Professor has identified how she broke rules. She hasn’t said he’s a liar. In fact she’s said nothing…
That’s the telling part!

Reading the speech from da whitey house link, Obummer made sure to denounce film as “crude and disgusting” never mentioning Al Qaeda planned the attack long before 9/11/2012.
Why is this Obummer so weak on using the words terror attack?
