goldy…only you would be tasteless and tacky enough to put up this crap on memorial day weekend.
you are completely irrelevant…..
almost as much a paul is.

2. John Barelli spews:

The Republicans absolutely hate this guy. He actually believes in the stated principles of the Republican party.

There are lots of places where I strongly disagree with Rep Paul, but at least he’s willing to stand up for his principles, even when they’re inconvenient, and as I’ve stated many times, I admire honesty.

Of the current batch of Republican candidates, he’s probably the one that could give us the most trouble in the general election, if the GOP ever really got behind him.

Fortunately for us, even if Rep Paul won the primaries, they hate the guy so much that there is no way that they’d let him get through the convention, and if he did somehow manage that, then the GOP leadership would probably end up supporting Hillary Clinton for President.

The current GOP leadership would much rather have a Democrat in the White House than someone that actually believed in what they profess.

3. christmasghost spews:

so john…you are going to tell me, a republican, what i believe?
that’s fascinating….really.
ron paul is an irrelevant little twit…always has been.
but if we were going to follow his advice i guess we wouldn’t have stopped hitler, would we?
for him to make the statement that rudy doesn’t know what he’s talking about concerning 9/11 because he hasn’t read paul’s “list” of books…even though rudy was right there dealing with it, is so appalling that only a liberal democrat would say it.
and the statement that we asked for it…good grief. you know what they called people that said crap like that after pearl harbor [and there were some......i think perhaps related to goldy] they called them TRAITORS.
a good term that still applies.

4. christmasghost spews:

you idiots in washington state have once again made national news for BEING STUPID….
read and enjoy….

5. christmasghost spews:

and the unraveling continues….
what were you saying about the GOP being dishonest again goldy????? huh????

6. John Barelli spews:

Well, Ms. Ghost, as a Republican you keep telling me what I believe, and you come to this liberal blog to do so.

Nevertheless, you are welcome to correct any misconceptions I have regarding the stated philosophy of the Republican party.

My understanding is that you claim to believe in smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and staying out of matters that do not immediately concern government. You believe in a strict interpretation of the Constitution according to the expressed intent of the founding fathers.

Did I get any of that wrong?

7. christmasghost spews:

john….you are correct. so, what are you saying? that one elected official is the face of an entire party? paul? hardly.
bush? hardly.
i do believe in smaller more efficient government that stays out of honest citizens business and is fiscally responsible. unfortunately for all of us that hasn’t happened for a long long time.
however…..we are in a war now. a necessary war…a war we cannot afford to lose thanks to whiny do-nothing liberals.
remember, john on this memorial day…the terrorists are counting on the sheehan’s and goldy’s of the country to do their heavy lifting for them.
not that goldy is actually in sheehan’s category…she actually puts her money where her big mouth is….sadly for her son’s memory.

8. michael spews:

Hey, that guy gave me hope, how ever so small, that there’s a future for the Republican party.

9. ArtFart spews:

I agree with exactly one phrase in your post in #7, Ghost. “We are in a war.”

Pity.

That AWOL draft-dodging, Coke-snorting, piece of shit Bush has a Monica problem of his own.

11. Roger Rabbit spews:

@3 Just to clarify, Ron Paul is a congressman and presidential candidate with a national audience.

Christmasghost is an irrelevant little twit.

12. Roger Rabbit spews:

@7 Given the sycophantic fawning over Bush by ALL Republicans, and the total absence of criticism of Bush by ANY Republicans, it’s reasonable for bystanders to conclude that Bush is indeed the face of the Republican Party and represents what they believe.

13. christmasghost spews:

right….i gather your comprehension “skills” are at an all time low?
or are you just banking on the fact that no one from the DEEDEEDEE party can read anything for themselves?

i take it by your comment that you are FOR the war on drugs and so will not be supporting obama???
“That AWOL draft-dodging, Coke-snorting, piece of shit Bush has a Monica problem of his own.”

14. John Barelli spews:

Ms. Ghost

Mr. Paul was a flight surgeon in the Air Force. He has most certainly attended at least his share of military funerals and memorial services.

In my twenty-one years, I’ve attended more than a few of those myself, and came closer than I care to remember to being the “guest of honor” at one of them. (I came out without a scratch, thank God.)

If I don’t see it as being disrespectful on Memorial Day, (which is actually either Monday or Wednesday, depending on whether or not you think that the actual day is or is not more important than a three-day car sale) then I’m not entirely sure how you get off declaring it to be disrespectful.

15. christmasghost spews:

@11…just to clarify…goldyroger likes to see himself talk…and that’s about it.
talk about irrelevant.
when even lefties think you’re an idiot rogergoldy…where does that really leave you?

16. Roger Rabbit spews:

@8 This is the future of the Republican party. http://tinyurl.com/2hp6zu

17. christmasghost spews:

john…just think hanoi jane.
maybe you’ll finally get it.

18. Roger Rabbit spews:

@11 Let’s put it to a vote — fair enough?

20. christmasghost spews:

well guys…and i mean this truly…i hope on this memorial day you really think about what the day means [and ,yes john, i mean THE DAY.....i believe the car sales are thanks to the 60's lefties]and perhaps have a moment of enlightenment.
doubt it…but i can hope, right?
got to go….uniform to iron and flags to prepare for the cemetery.
remember…this isn’t vietnam. it more closely resembles WW2 and the soldiers that some of you keep slandering by talking about them as if they are too stupid to make their own decisions….are professionals. they were not drafted. they believe in what they are doing.
which is a hell of alot more than can be said about most of you.
try to keep that in mind before you shoot off your mouths.

21. John Barelli spews:

So, Ms. Ghost, you are of the impression that anyone considering this war to be both ill-conceived and poorly executed to be aiding the enemy?

Are you seriously saying that anyone saying that we do not belong in the middle of the Iraqi civil war cannot be a patriot?

How about someone wondering why we’re pulling troops away from the battle against the folks that actually attacked us and using them to fight people that did not attack us?

Yes, the President decided that his grudge against Iraq and Saddam Hussein was more important than actually defending the country against people that killed thousands of us.

In order to get us to go along, he lied to us, and had his subordinates lie to us. Those lies have cost thousands of American lives, and continue to endanger us by weakening our military.

And the one person in your party with the courage to say so, you denounce.

No, Ms. Ghost. I do not think that Rep Paul is the face of the Republican party. Your chosen standard bearers are George Herbert Walker Bush and Richard Cheney. They are the people that you chose as the true face of the Republican party.

More’s the pity.

22. John Barelli spews:

Excuse me. Got a bit carried away and misspoke. I was never a big fan of GHWB, but at least he didn’t pull the stunt his son did.

The official Republican standard bearers are George Walker Bush and Richard Cheney. You folks chose them, you’re stuck with them.

CG – WHAT’S THE MATTER IN PARADISE? NO LIFE?

24. Goldy spews:

Ghost @3,

you know what they called people that said crap like that after pearl harbor [and there were some……i think perhaps related to goldy] they called them TRAITORS.
a good term that still applies.

And you know what we do with traitors? We execute them.

So what you are suggesting, is that Ron Paul is a traitor for speaking his mind, and that I am too for giving him a forum to speak his mind. And… well… we better watch out, because we all know what happens to traitors.

Um, let me remind you:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So Ghost, my question for you is: why do you hate America?

25. Broadway Joe spews:

Nice shot, Goldy. Ms. Ghost is clearly afflicted with BIR Syndrome (Bush-Inficted-Retardation), where one actually wants to build a neofascist dictatorship complete with its personality cult surrounding the Shrub. Ron Paul is clearly one who could give the GOP the ideological enema it needs to remain relevant, but does anyone think it’s really going to happen? RIP GOP

26. Tree Frog Farmer spews:

Perhaps one of the funniest lines I have heard in quite a while was delivered by a caller on the Mike Malloy show.
In describing the Republican debate, he said that “Ron Paul realy threw a ‘truth-turd’ into the Republican punchbowl.”

27. YOS LIB BRO spews:

GHOST – THE POSTER BOYS FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE KLAUDT AND CUNNINGHAM.

THE REPUBLICANS HAVE RAPED THE FUTURE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND MIRED OUR COUNTRY IN A HOT TUB OF FILTH!

28. RightEqualsStupid spews:

Memorial day is a day to remember that the following chickenshit, chickenhawk Publican cowards never fought in combat when THEY had a chance.

1) WHATADICK Cheney
2) MONKEYFACE Bush
3) LIMPDICK Limbaugh
4) HANDJOB Hannity
5) BLACKJACK Bill Bennett
6) BOYTOY Kenneth Star
7) KKK LEADER Trent Lott
8) NEWT THE HOOT Gingrich

All these traitors pretend to be pro-military, pro-war, tough guys who were content to send someone else to do the fighting for them when it got down to brass tacks.

29. harry poon spews:

re20: I think you disrespect fallen American soldiers on Memorial Day when you support an administration that allows war profiteering corporations to locate offshore and pay no taxes and force the average citizen to shoulder the burden of fighting these wars and pay for them. At the same time, these traitor corporations have a stranglehold on government with their money.

Is this what these soldiers fought and died for?

Is this, Christmasghost, an America you can be proud of?

30. Roger Rabbit spews:

Warning: the following post contains profanity, harsh words, and copious amounts of vitrol. Reader discretion is advised.

CG,

A moment of enlightenment? WTF do you mean by that, pray tell? You *arrogant* bitch! Who the fuck do you think you are? Did you serve? Yes, I mean YOU, not your spouse or relative. YOU. Did you EVER risk getting your ass blown off?

You’d better realize that there are people who come here who DID (or do) serve, and who know God-damn well what Memorial Day means.

I know what it means to Cheney and Bush: a chance to strut in front of a camera with a bunch of poor, stupid bastards they’ve conned into going to Iraq, playing on their naivity and sense of patriotism. It makes me sick. YOU make me sick.

And then, the topper, is you have the freaking GALL to try to compare this shit we’re doing in Iraq and Afghanistan to WWII. How fucking stupid can you be? This is NOTHING like that. NOTHING. We lost more men on one day of battle in WWII than we’ve lost in this entire ‘war’ that Bush and his dispicable ilk manufactured.

Freaking clueless sheep. It’s partly because of empty-headed bimbos like you that our guys are still there getting blown away… for lies, and oil, and, of course, for power. You’re just another dingbat broad feeling oh-so-noble, waving the troops off to their deaths. Needless deaths in a needless war that only our abject stupidity and apathy allowed us to get into.

Do I sound pissed off? I *am* pissed off. This ‘war’ pisses me off. Grandstanders cheering on needless deaths, like some fucking Roman citizen at Circus Maximus pisses me off.

You want to know who the traitors are? They’re the ones that will sell our beliefs, our values, and our way of life down the river in order to feel (not be) safe. They’re the cowards, who gladly let the government run amok in exchange for empty promises and fewer liberties.

You’re the traitor here, bitch, and don’t you EVER forget it, on Memorial Day, or any other day.

32. michael spews:

@16

Yeah you’re probably right about the future of the Republican party. The right will eat it’s self.

33. Heathen Sinner spews:

christmasghost – why don’t you go cook up some more weapons of mass destruction so you can send another 150,000 men and women into harms way.

34. John P Slevin spews:

Christmas Ghost,

Do you read much?

You scribbled the post I’ve attached at the end. What does Iraq have to do with Hitler or World War 2, and how is it more like World War 2 than Vietnam?

US entry into the Second World War was preceded by Pearl Harbor. Until that day, most Americans opposed entry into what was, correctly, perceived to be a European problem. Were the great many Republicans of that day, who, prior to Pearl Harbor, opposed entry into that European war, wrong?

And what exactly can one tell about your beliefs from the fact that you are a Republican?

You state that Rudy Giuliani somehow is qualified to be president because he was there on 9/11, “dealing with it”. How about the other millions of New Yorkers, who also were there, dealing with it? Is that a qualification for anything other than our sympathies and solidarity?

but, here they are again, your own words. I suggest you actually try turning off Fox News, and reading something…you can start with the funny papers.

so john…you are going to tell me, a republican, what i believe?
