– Back in 2006, a SUNY New Paltz student named Justin Holmes was elected President of the Student Association. Holmes also happened to be a member of NORML and Students for Sensible Drug Policy. Troll spews:
Most of the inner-city murderers, gang bangers, and rapists are from the “far right?”
Lee spews:
@1
No. Who’s saying that?
The point is that the amount of far right violence is on the rise since Obama’s election. There’s no indication that the amount of violence associated with inner-city gangs has changed since Obama’s election. You’re comparing apples to oranges.
And as I’ve repeatedly pointed out, the most effective way to combat that violence is to end the drug war.

Yes, I know what your point was, but I was making my own point.
Far right violence can be on the rise, but that doesn’t mean it’s a wide-spread problem in America. Most violent felonies occur in cities, and probably aren’t committed by people on the far right.
I mean, lesbians raping straight women could be on the rise, and it makes for a sensational headline, but come on, the real problem when it comes to rapes is men raping women. And the real problem with violence, whether it’s on the rise or not, is the inner-city variety.
RIP Tubaman.

And I was pointing out how pointless your point was.
Far right violence can be on the rise, but that doesn’t mean it’s a wide-spread problem in America.
True, but when something is rising, it should cause people to consider why it’s rising, and why it might reach a level where it becomes a wide-spread problem or leads to a catastrophic occurrence. On September 10, 2001, someone would have been correct in pointing out that Islamic terrorism wasn’t a widespread problem in America, however the fact that Islamic terrorism around the world had been rising is something we should have been paying attention to.
Most violent felonies occur in cities, and probably aren’t committed by people on the far right.
Most of those violent felonies aren’t politically motivated at all. That’s why I said you’re comparing apples to oranges. Most of those crimes are committed by gangs that operate through organized crime.
I mean, lesbians raping straight women could be on the rise, and it makes for a sensational headline, but come on, the real problem when it comes to rapes is men raping women.
That’s a truly bizarre non-sequitur that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about here.
And the real problem with violence, whether it’s on the rise or not, is the inner-city variety.
I agree that inner-city violence is a problem, but it’s not terrorist in nature. There are very few instances where inner-city violence is random (like the Tubaman murder). Most inner-city violence is waged between competing drug gangs and other interpersonal conflicts. The thing that scares people is when a nut becomes motivated to kill random citizens in an act of terror. And when incidents of that type are on the rise, it sets off alarm bells, as it should.

Nice to see Mr. Neiwert getting a little mainstream exposure..

I am sure when a right-wing crazy tries to assassinate the president our trolls will regale us with tales of black-on-white crime in Kansas City or St. Louis.

If a terrorist attack hits the US in July, the right will hasten to tell us how it is Mr. Obama’s fault.
Just like they’ve been laboring mightily to explain to us how the attack in September of 2001, after months of intelligence warning us of high terrorist activity and alerts from the outgoing administration pointing them to the spource, was somehow anything BUT Mr. Bush’s responsibility.
They’re funny fellas.

Fat people who get handicap placards for their car so they don’t have to walk a few extra feet SHOULD BE EXECUTED!
Fat person: “But I have a bad knee, and I have a doctor’s note saying so, and I can’t walk …”
Bullshit! You are fat and lazy. Period. Throw away the handicap placard, and park in normal spaces, and walk the few extra feet, you fat fuck. Besides, the extra walking will probably help your fake ailment.
k spews:
troll, however, may have a placard for the obvious mental handicap frequently displayed.

I’m not sure Troll should be driving at all with his/her handicap.

Our politics are remarkably free of violence. Even during, for example the Clinton impeachment, Bush v Gore, and Rossi v Gregoire there was no violence to speak of. There were the Rodney King riots, but that was 17 years ago. There has not been much political assasiation since the ’60s.
There are always the odd nuts like ELF, the Unabomber, McVeigh, and a couple or three anti-abortion zealots, but they are few and far between.

Another worthless stoner much like Lee, who quite obviously does not exercise good judgement. Shocking, I know.
