And I’ll also offer this: Once Fiat gets their hooks fully into Chrysler, those CEOs in Detroit making the big bucks will probably be sent for their Golden Parachutes.
Personally, I have two bigger worries: the anouncement that Chrysler is shuttering about 700 dealerships (officially speaking, ending their agreements with local dealers), and the likelihood that as many as a thousand more could get the axe soon. While we can all agree that there’s a glut of dealerships out there of all makes and models, Chrysler could end up shuttering half of their dealerships, maybe more. That’s a lot of jobs lost. And provided that something of the company recovers, who’s gonna be left to sell the product? And given that Fiat has some really nice new rides coming out over the next few MYs, eventually folks will want to buy new cars again, where will they go? This could be a colossally bad move for Chrysler and Fiat.
So why is the GOP so against a truth commission? Isn’t the party of God, family values and the American Way in favor of the truth? Why hide from the truth?
