Todays News. Clyde Bellecourt, Chippewa, Indian speaks out against Bush. Native Americans across the country and tribal leaders are anger at Bush. Bush called a session at midnight, pre-empted his vacation for Schiavo and ignored the Red River school shooting. Second-deadliest school shooting in the U.S. history, four days without a word of condolence from Bush. Clyde says,….” so-called Great White Father in Washington hasn’t said or done a thing.” Bush did propose cutting Indian programs by @100 million next year. G.W should know Jesus loves the red and yellow black and white alike.

Anyway, Goldy,
For the present, you are correct, Mr. Superfluous.
What is your record for comments in a single thread?
4
Adrielspews:
I could understand Why he went after the Schiavo case first, if they can’t understand why he did then that’s pretty pathetic. Send condolences to victims of the dead that will still be dead tomorrow or try to save a woman’s life that’s a toughy.

very touching comments adriel……what a nice guy you are…..hopefully you will never move into my neighborhood…..heaven forbid. The texas taco only lifts a finger when there potentially is political gain in the issue. Basically like yourself it seems
7
Adrielspews:
How do you tell the difference between a liberal and a conservative?
Easy. Watch a man drowning fifty feet offshore.
The conservative will throw out 25 feet of rope and shout “swim for it!”
The liberal will toss out 50 feet of rope, drop his own end, and go off to do another good deed.
Keep up the good deeds jpgee

Adriel@4. Bill Clinton in 1990 ass soon as he heard about the Columbine shooting PUBLICALLY expressed his condolences and then followed up by a radio broadcast. He had a phone that may be why you don’t understnd the difference between dying and dying. If you have a hangup about Monica’s dress. least realize Bill had time for her too. :-)

Nah, the open thread gets all of the venting out built up during the week.
Yeah multiple three figure postings. Not bad.
SP is having a hard time getting more than 20 comments and has been nearly skunked a few times. How exciting an an excel spreadsheet be?
12
marksspews:
Chee,
I am not sure what your aim is, other than miss. I don’t know how the feds will know anything about what is going on in a kid’s head. What I do know is, having unarmed security in a congregated setting is part of the rules for this particular case. I have no idea what your anger is about, but it should be directed at the rules, not the situation as applied.
Bill Clinton is a master of feeling pain. Others are not…
13
Adrielspews:
That’s fine I was just making the point that one was more urgent than the other, I didn’t disagree that he should make an address about the shooting. I have to laugh at how fired up you guys get on very narrow issues, it use to be that you guys were all about protecting the weak and down trodden but in the last few years I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all an act for power. You don’t stand for anything unless it is in your best interest for the moment at hand.
Interesting thing about last week’s open thread is that the “conversation” kept running through today.
15
Nindidspews:
Adriel @4
1) The point of condolences is not for the dead, but for the living. It is to show yourself as a leader who cares for all, not just Republican donors.
2) PVS pretty much = dead unless you believe that 24+ judges and every credible doctor who has looked at her are in some sort of conspiracy.
16
Adrielspews:
Nindid, see my above post you fit in that category.
17
Unkl Witzspews:
Hey, come on Erik:
We thrive on the news that the ballot counts in precinct xxx don’t crossfoot, and someone actually marked thru a vote total in precinct yyy and wrote in a corrected number.
This is big news to us since we don’t have much else to maintain our fervent hope that the feds will swoop in, arrest Gregoire, haul her away in chains, and declare Rossi the true king.
After all, this election was conducted by highly paid guvment employees who should have achieved perfection, like the BIAW has shown in compiling their list of FELON voters.
And let me tell you, there is no greater threat to our nation, our god, or our way of life than FELON voters. Forget the national debt, forget the economy, forget these distracting children shooting each other in our high schools, forget even the war on terrorism (gasp!). FELON voters are pure evil, and must be stamped out quickly and completely.
Some of Shark’s more jugheaded fans have actually proposed:
Checking all the voter rolls for “foreign sounding names,” and verifying they are legitimate voters,
Hiring handwriting experts to review all the absentee ballots in King County for the fraudulent votes they are very confident they will find,
AND (I swear I am not making this up) making illegal voting a capital crime!
I hate to say it, but your missing the big show if you don’t tune in to SP occasionally.
18
Cheespews:
By marks at 12. I am not sure what your addressing like your unsure what I am addressing. In post 5, I was kidding in your response to you kidding me. Catch me up if you got a different take. My stand is Clinton is a sensitive guy, Bush goes for the show. Also, I think Bush should have made a call to Red River, was insensitive not to and common deceny to do so.
19

Thanks Uncle – but I’ll happily miss that show thanks… I am up to my ears in fanaticism for one week.

25
Unkl Witzspews:
Hi Adriel:
My name is Unkl Witz, and I’d like to chat with you for a moment about getting fired up on some very narrow issues.
Let’s start with the premise that there is no better use of our government’s time than preventing the senseless loss of human life.
I may be mistaken, but your posts seem to imply that you felt it was entirely appropriate that our national legislative bodies invoke a midnight session, pass a law exclusive to a single citizen of our country and that the president of the United States interrupt his busy and important schedule to fly back and sign this legislation.
All the while, there are 20,000 children in Africa who will die tomorrow from the same malady that Mrs. Schaivo suffers, malnutrition and lack of water. That’s 20,000 CHILDREN, not brain dead adults, CHILDREN, fully formed, fully conscious, and fully capable of feeling the excruciating pain of dehydration and malnutrition, will die.
Oh, and by the way, the next day, the day after tomorrow, Easter Sunday for the us lucky souls here in the USA, while we’re out hunting for overcooked eggs, 20,000 more CHILDREN will die, of the same malady. And the day after that, Monday, 20,000 more children will die, again of the same malady, and again, and again.
Forgive me if I was just a little taken aback by your comment regarding over-focus on narrow issues.
26
Donspews:
Adriel @ 13
You can’t protect and weak and downtrodden or much of anything else if you’re out of power, can you?
27

28
Donspews:
UW @ 17
“Hiring handwriting experts to review all the absentee ballots in King County for the fraudulent votes they are very confident they will find”
I assume they want to do this on the public dime but they’ll donate a bullet when they find one?
29
Adrielspews:
“You can’t protect and weak and downtrodden or much of anything else if you’re out of power, can you?” – don
Who’s to blame for that? I think somebody may have forgot the will of the people (Christain and Secular both) does matter and because of this oversight didn’t get voted in.
30
Unkl Witzspews:
Actually Don, I thought it was a pretty good idea that they spend their own money on the project. I’ve made several posts encouraging them to do so.
31
Cheespews:
UnkiWitz. Boy are you right about Bush’s selective nature. I have heard more people make your comparision without the figures. If he had the power he would probably set up a selective breeding program like Hitler or have himself cloned to death.
My sense is that George is painfully aware of his own shortcomings and probably wouldn’t indulge in such a venture. After all, he already has some real life evidence in his own daughters.
George knows he was born under a lucky star and is willing to roll the dice to see that out. His war in Iraq is the best evidence. He’s convinced it will propel him onto MT Rushmore, and if not, he’s gonna be dead anyway. Why not go for it.
The sad part is the tens, scores, probably hundreds of thousands of human lives he is willing parley into this bid for his place in history. He’s not alone, many others have behaved in a very similar fashion.
34
Cheespews:
Unki Witz @ 33. You have a bright mind. What I find to be disheartening is while I do believe I see in Bush’s face that he does have some true remorse when American soldiers come home in a body bag, I believe his actions in the Schiavo case was self oriented (1) political, boost for Bush and Party. (2) As man that declared war, he sees the loss of lives due to that and to relieve some of his guilt he turned to Terri, overcompensating for his guilt, wanting to be look like the compassionate Samaritan, the hero that saved her life.
35
Cheespews:
Uncle Witz@33. Before I sign off here, I want to say that being a President ages men very fast. It is a tough road, you can not please everyone and critics sling mud. I recall one President’s wife that refused to read the news. There is some good in most everyone or let’s hope so. I see Bush’s bad side and good side. He is cocky, sometimes that is good and bad. Some of policies don’t gell with me from the bleachers. While I have compassion for the Schiavo ordeal, I firmly believe it is not government’s business. Really been a turnoff to many of Bush’s supporters and his oppostion also. A lot of fence riders fell off over this issue alone.
36
Donspews:
Adriel @ 29
Or maybe they cheated.
37
Donspews:
UW @ 30
I think they should spend their own money on it, too.
38
Donspews:
Chee @ 34
As long as we’re psychoanalyzing King George, I may as well throw in my two cents. I think he’s just a frat boy who never grew up.

Hey look, anonym”ass” is back, and he is using “ANOTHER” alias, like he did last night!
Well I see the coward boy still won’t answer. How typical and predictable.
Diggindude, I know what you see when you look in the mirror.
You see a big, fat ZERO… a moral cipher…a vacuum of nothing… a non-entity with the courage, the honesty, the moral convictions of a slug…the moral values of a useless bowl of leftover jello who cannot face the world, who cannot face an anonymous forum, who cannot face himself and say unambigously…
I BELIEVE IN LIFE.
or
I DON’T BELIEVE IN LIFE.
I cannot fathom how anyone can exist without a moral compass, without a guiding philosophy…or why they would want to. I cannot fathom pretending to be a human with the core values of a rock.
Good luck, you poor, empty, pitiful being… you really are going to need it.

Especially jpgee.
Just a little light in the sandals.
Not quite ready for the AP class kind of kids.
Not even ready for the remedial class kind of kids.
Dr. Seuss reading 101 is just the ticket for them.
Soon they may develop the ability to speak with words of more than one syllable. Including the non-profane words too.
One could only hope.
The kind of arithmetic geniuses that can take one vote, add one vote, and end up with hundreds of fraudulent votes for their shrewlike crony. And then shout out how our elections are a model for the world.
Actually that doesn’t take any intelligence either, just a few ballots, a big black marker and some friends in the election department. Wink, wink.
The kind of people that would pull the plug on a helpless, defenseless woman while defending her adulterous husband because they lack any trace of manhood or honor.
And do you notice how they all pile on when it’s just you hanging around? Misfits with no heart, no courage, no dignity.
Yes, liberalism is certainly shining its light in this wrenched pestiferous corner of the blogsphere.

On another thread you were wondering whether Mr. C was so “colorful” in lovemaking. I really cannot comment, except to say that the Saturday morning cartoons playing on the plasma screen in the background DO add a little color.
Finally, Don, I doubt Mr. C will regain consciousness tonight. The poor dear had a tough week, and he will never admit it, but I think he has given up hope for Rossi. Thanks for thinking of him, though, I think he deeply values the relationship you two have developed on this forum!

You know, when Clinton was president, he drove me crazy. Why? Because he was so dam politically talented. That man could make anyone believe that he cared for him or her. He was totally and completely poll driven and that drove me crazy. He didn’t do a thing without the wind of the polls behind his back. He was successful because he triangulated republican issues, welfare reform, etc. and then sold them as his own. He convinced you all (demo’s) that welfare reform was a good thing. Which is interesting because republicans had been fighting to reform welfare for years, all the while being demonized.
Why do I say this? Because I am not sure that any of us, republicans or democrats, stands for anything other than what the other party argues against.
That is a sad state of affairs.

That’s a simplistic view of welfare reform. The AFDC program was in existence from the 1930s until 1994 or thereabouts. This country had plenty of experience with “welfare” and most professionals working the field knew our welfare system wasn’t working (and many suspected it was counterproductive) for a long time but there was no consensus on how to fix it. Of course, a powerful welfare rights lobby developed over the years, who fiercely resisted change and constantly demanded more welfare funding. The breakthrough, if it can be said there was one, occurred when politicians recognized and acted on the fact that moving people from welfare to work required removing obstacles to employment such as lack of work skills, and no transportation or child care. When work requirements and time limits were coupled with funding for training, child care, and transportation assistant, welfare reform succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest imaginations in terms of the numbers of people who left welfare rolls. It was not Republican politicians who pushed this funding through, and when Republicans got into power this funding was among the first spending they attacked. So, I’m sorry, the GOP gets no credit because they didn’t support the key ingredients that made welfare reform work, and since taking power have consistently undermined welfare-to-work programs.

How Liberalism Failed Terri Schiavo Eric Cohen is editor of the New Atlantis and resident scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center http://www.weeklystandard.com/.....8ytxle.asp
…“This is what ideological liberalism now seems to believe–whether in regard to early human embryos, or late-stage dementia patients, or fetuses with Down syndrome. And in the end, the Schiavo case is just one more act in modern liberalism’s betrayal of the vulnerable people it once claimed to speak for. Instead of sympathizing with Terri Schiavo–a disabled woman, abandoned by her husband, seen by many as a burden on society–modern liberalism now sympathizes with Michael Schiavo, a healthy man seeking freedom from the burden of his disabled wife and self-fulfillment in the arms of another. And while one would think that divorce was the obvious solution, this was more than Michael Schiavo apparently could bear, since it would require a definitive act of betrayal instead of a supposed demonstration of loyalty to Terri’s wishes. “…
…“On March 18, 2005, the day her feeding tube was removed, Terri Schiavo was not dead or dying. She was a profoundly disabled person in need of constant care. And despite the hopes of her parents, it was unlikely that her medical condition would improve, even with the best possible care administered by those with her best interests at heart. But even in her incapacitated state, Terri Schiavo was still a human being, a member of the Schindler family and the human family. As such, she was still worthy of protection and care, even if some of those closest to her wished to deny it.“

Her instinct was to pull the plug; his was to live.“…

jpgee@158 There is a vital difference, between Delay’s case and the Schiavo case. The Delay family reportedly agreed that that is what the father wanted. In the Schiavo case, the family does not agree.
There is nothing in writing saying that Terri would wish to die, in fact, it is all hearsay and speculation. The feeding tube was removed, and she was sentenced to death by the hearsay evidence of a man who is set to gain financially from her death. Add to that, the financial contributions from Mr. Schiavo’s attorney to Judge Greer and it makes the whole thing just that much creepier. Now, even if he (Mr. Schiavo) is perfectly sincere, there is some doubt. Once you error on the side of death there are no take backsies.
I think we would all agree that people have the right to die. It teaches us all to have something in writing. Something that makes clear our intentions. Otherwise, we should error on the side of life. But heh, that’s just my opinion.

You should check facts before embarrassing yourself by posting something stupid.
1. Clinton signed welfare reform on August 22, 1996. The House impeachment vote was taken on December 19, 1998, nearly 2 1/2 years later. Your claim that Clinton signed welfare reform because he was “about to be impeached” is patently false. You are either too lazy to do 60 seconds of research, or a liar.
2. You took the number of Americans without health insurance (you say 43 million but it’s closer to 46 million and still climbing) and twisted it into a claim that 43 million people are not paying into Social Security. It’s hard to believe an literate adult in this country could make a mistake like this. Are you high on drugs, or just brain dead?

When the picture becomes grimer and grimer, 15 years of grimer, the time arrives to make choices. The law is on the husband’s side there. Some poor starving child died last night in some slum area cause their crack-head mother and father never fed them. Care about that? Fixing Terri is big stuff. I would get on National TV to remind them to mind their own business and would tell those sit-in radicals to pack it up and get the hell out of there. “…In the end, the only alternative is a renewed understanding of both the family and human equality–two things ideological liberalism has now abandoned and modern conservatism now defends.in a family means accepting the burdens of caring for those bound to us in ties of fidelity–whether parent for child, child for parent, or spouse for spouse. The human answer to our dependency is not living wills but loving surrogates. And for those who believe in human equality, this means treating even the profoundly disabled–people like Terri Schiavo, who are not dead and are not dying–as deserving of at least basic care, so long as the care itself is not the cause of additional suffering. Of course, this does not mean that keeping our loved ones alive is our only goal. But neither can we treat a person’s life as a disease in need of a cure, or aim at death as a means of ending suffering–even if a loved one asks us to do so.“… http://www.weeklystandard.com/.....8ytxle.asp
By cheering for the right to allow her husband to kill that poor defenseless, yet living, woman, you have lost your credibility to be outraged against any OTHER defenseless citizens.
It is our duty as a country TO protect the defenseless, ALL OF THEM, not just those that appear to suit your agenda or make you feel all happy inside.
We could go on for hours point by point arguing and refuting each one in Terri’s case but that wouldn’t serve us or Terri. Suffice it to say (as you already know) I believe we, as a society, have to err on the side of life. The tough corner for me to turn in that arguement for life has been the one of capitol punishment – but if I don’t want to be monumentally hypocritical then I have to say err on the side of life in those cases too – even with arrogant cop killing donkeyfarts like Mumia Abu-Jamal…{I have to say err for their lives NOT that I have to like or respect them! ;-)}
I think the very same reasons that people are arguing FOR fetal stem cell research (which has so far been monumetally unsuccessful and noted mostly for its complete failure), the arguments of hope, the arguments of potential, the arguements of discovery are actually the ones we should rather be arguing here.
I think this case with Terri Schaivo has now become, in the minds of many, less about Terri and more about who we are, what we are becoming as a society, where we place the value of life and if that marker where we value life is going to be a certain one or one that changes with needs for expediency.
I understand the pain of what you see in a nursing home, but as a society, are we prepared to say starving a patient is the same as removing life support? Wouldn’t every single Alzheimer’s patient or every single ALS patient fit the very same criteria we are using on Terri…they are brain damaged and can’t do anything for themselves except what the body does naturally: pump life-giving blood through their hearts and breath life-giving oxygen through every cell of their bodies. As a society are we prepared to say WHICH of our citizens lives are less important, have less value than others? And then that begs the question, who gets to be the final arbitor? Do we WANT to become the Netherlands where they actively practice not only abortion, but euthanasia and NOW have moved right on into infanticide? I don’t think we do, and I pray we don’t.

You know what’s going on here, don’t you? Voter fraud is a reality, and across this country most of the votes that are illegally cast are cast for Democrats. It is Democrats who are driving the demands that non-citizens be allowed to vote in local elections. It is Democrats who are even insisting that illegal aliens be permitted to vote in some areas. It is Democrats who have opposed each and every move, no matter where, to attempt to clean up the election process by making sure that people who vote are actually legally qualified to vote. It is Democrats who want felons to vote! They know that felons will, by and large, vote for Democrats.
I’ll say it again. Most illegally cast votes are cast for Democrats. Democrats have been at the forefront of every move to loosen voting restrictions and to counter any attempt to combat voter fraud.
Now .. if you really want to hear Democrats howl … make it easier for military personnel to vote. Military personnel, you see, usually vote Republican.

very touching comments adriel……what a nice guy you are…..hopefully you will never move into my neighborhood…..heaven forbid. The texas taco only lifts a finger when there potentially is political gain in the issue. Basically like yourself it seems
Adriel spews:
How do you tell the difference between a liberal and a conservative?
Easy. Watch a man drowning fifty feet offshore.
The conservative will throw out 25 feet of rope and shout “swim for it!”
The liberal will toss out 50 feet of rope, drop his own end, and go off to do another good deed.
Keep up the good deeds jpgee
jpgee spews:
wow, very original of you ardiel….I am truly impressed, the first time you have said anything here that is not 100% from the wacko neocon press guide..go lil guy go, there is still a glimmer of hope for you
Chee spews:
Chee spews:
Gee I mispelled as, must been thinking of Cynical again. Ya gotta love that guy when he operates on one cylinder..
Erik spews:
Wow. Last week’s open thread collected over 450 comments. I guess I’m pretty much superfluous.
Nah, the open thread gets all of the venting out built up during the week.
Yeah multiple three figure postings. Not bad.
SP is having a hard time getting more than 20 comments and has been nearly skunked a few times. How exciting an an excel spreadsheet be?
marks spews:
Chee,
I am not sure what your aim is, other than miss.
Others are not…
Adriel spews:
That’s fine I was just making the point that one was more urgent than the other, I didn’t disagree that he should make an address about the shooting. I have to laugh at how fired up you guys get on very narrow issues, it use to be that you guys were all about protecting the weak and down trodden but in the last few years I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all an act for power. You don’t stand for anything unless it is in your best interest for the moment at hand.
Daniel K spews:
Interesting thing about last week’s open thread is that the “conversation” kept running through today.
Nindid spews:
Adriel @4
1) The point of condolences is not for the dead, but for the living. It is to show yourself as a leader who cares for all, not just Republican donors.
2) PVS pretty much = dead unless you believe that 24+ judges and every credible doctor who has looked at her are in some sort of conspiracy.
Adriel spews:
Nindid, see my above post you fit in that category.
Unkl Witz spews:
Chee spews:
By marks at 12. I am not sure what your addressing like your unsure what I am addressing. In post 5, I was kidding in your response to you kidding me. Catch me up if you got a different take. My stand is Clinton is a sensitive guy, Bush goes for the show. Also, I think Bush should have made a call to Red River, was insensitive not to and common deceny to do so.
nindid spews:
Thanks Uncle – but I’ll happily miss that show thanks… I am up to my ears in fanaticism for one week.
Chee spews:

Don spews:
And then there was the chain saw …
nindid spews:
You guys get sound?!!? I need to upgrade this computer. No wait…
Unkl Witz spews:
Don spews:
Adriel @ 13
You can’t protect and weak and downtrodden or much of anything else if you’re out of power, can you?
Chee spews:
UnkiWitz17. Pretty scary.
Don spews:
UW @ 17
“Hiring handwriting experts to review all the absentee ballots in King County for the fraudulent votes they are very confident they will find”
I assume they want to do this on the public dime but they’ll donate a bullet when they find one?
Adriel spews:
“You can’t protect and weak and downtrodden or much of anything else if you’re out of power, can you?” – don
Who’s to blame for that? I think somebody may have forgot the will of the people (Christain and Secular both) does matter and because of this oversight didn’t get voted in.
Unkl Witz spews:
Actually Don, I thought it was a pretty good idea that they spend their own money on the project. I’ve made several posts encouraging them to do so.
Chee spews:
UnkiWitz. Boy are you right about Bush’s selective nature. I have heard more people make your comparision without the figures. If he had the power he would probably set up a selective breeding program like Hitler or have himself cloned to death.
Chee spews:
Nindid@24. Funny!
Unkl Witz spews:
Chee:
Chee spews:
Unki Witz @ 33. You have a bright mind. What I find to be disheartening is while I do believe I see in Bush’s face that he does have some true remorse when American soldiers come home in a body bag, I believe his actions in the Schiavo case was self oriented (1) political, boost for Bush and Party. (2) As man that declared war, he sees the loss of lives due to that and to relieve some of his guilt he turned to Terri, overcompensating for his guilt, wanting to be look like the compassionate Samaritan, the hero that saved her life.
Chee spews:
Don spews:
Adriel @ 29
Or maybe they cheated.
Don spews:
UW @ 30
I think they should spend their own money on it, too.
Don spews:
Chee @ 34
As long as we’re psychoanalyzing King George, I may as well throw in my two cents. I think he’s just a frat boy who never grew up.

I BELIEVE IN LIFE.
or
I DON’T BELIEVE IN LIFE.
I cannot fathom how anyone can exist without a moral compass, without a guiding philosophy…or why they would want to. I cannot fathom pretending to be a human with the core values of a rock.

Chee spews:
BF@131. Regarding my post@133. You said, “He convinced you all (demo’s) that welfare reform was a good thing.” My point went over your head. Try this: All demo’s are not Charley McCarthy dummies. How Liberalism Failed Terri Schiavo
Eric Cohen is editor of the New Atlantis and resident scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center
http://www.weeklystandard.com/.....8ytxle.asp

Example: ”Driving down there, I remember distinctly thinking that Chris would rather not live than be in this condition.” That’s Barbara Johnson recalling the 1995 accident of her son Christopher Reeve. Her instinct was to pull the plug; his was to live.“…

There was a flock of extremists gathered in the square stoneing a woman for her adulterious ways. Jesus came passing by and said, “he that is without sin cast the first stone. A stone came flying from behind where Jesus stood and he turned to look who had thrown it and said, “Sometimes Mother you really piss me off.”
bf spews:
jpgee@158 There is a vital difference, between Delay’s case and the Schiavo case.

Much deliberation, examination and lengthy time are involved, all done by experts, which Eric is not nor you nor I. The experts lay it out to the family, it is a hope or no hope process. When the picture becomes grimer and grimer, 15 years of grimer, the time arrives to make choices. The law is on the husband’s side there. Some poor starving child died last night in some slum area cause their crack-head mother and father never fed them. Care about that? Fixing Terri is big stuff. If you really care about who starves and dies become a missionary, become Mother Teresa, do what Princess Diana did, That is where you can in a small very direct way do something to save lives instead of playing doctor, lawyer and medical expert an moaning over a cause you can not do anything about. Feed the Children programs feed the hungry. What do you do? Groan over a person you never knew. Touching starving lives is as close as your phone. If you are already doing that, Bless you. I would never let my children be exploited like Terri has been or allow my son-in-laws be torn limb from limb by people sitting on their hand and asses trying to run our family affairs, making a freak sideshow of my children. I would get on National TV to remind them to mind their own business and would tell those sit-in radicals to pack it up and get the hell out of there. What has happened shows ther parents lack respect, dignity and don’t care anything about her privacy. All was fine in the family till Pa wanted some of the settlement (under florida law they are not due any)and Son-in-law said no. Picture changed real quick and thing heated up as they stirred every pot they could. It is a shame and a sham brought on by Ma and Pa Buttinski. Do I think they would lie? Goes without saying.

http://www.suntimes.com/output.....yn271.html
But neither can we treat a person’s life as a disease in need of a cure, or aim at death as a means of ending suffering–even if a loved one asks us to do so.“…

We could go on for hours point by point arguing and refuting each one in Terri’s case but that wouldn’t serve us or Terri. Suffice it to say (as you already know) I believe we, as a society, have to err on the side of life. The tough corner for me to turn in that arguement for life has been the one of capitol punishment – but if I don’t want to be monumentally hypocritical then I have to say err on the side of life in those cases too – even with arrogant cop killing donkeyfarts like Mumia Abu-Jamal…{I have to say err for their lives NOT that I have to like or respect them! ;-)}
I think the very same reasons that people are arguing FOR fetal stem cell research (which has so far been monumetally unsuccessful and noted mostly for its complete failure), the arguments of hope, the arguments of potential, the arguements of discovery are actually the ones we should rather be arguing here.
