- Picking a favorite part of this Pam Roach presser is damn near impossible. But I think “not even arguably” she cares more about people than anyone else in the Senate is probably it.

- Jonah Goldberg’s opposition to hucksters in movement conservatism is only hostility to the competition.

- Assholes gonna asshole.

- Mayhap they’ll start including a list of each athletes favorite performance enhancing drugs on their collectable cards!

- This Brandon McCarthy Twitter battle encapsulates everything right and wrong with sports people on social media.

A couple of weeks ago I wondered whether the B&O tax surcharge would be something Inslee wants extended.

Inslee said during his first news conference as governor that he’s open to extending a business and occupation tax and a beer tax, which could raise hundreds of millions of dollars over the next two years.

What a surprise.

Kap’n Kornflake – Serial Reneger,

Write a check for $1,000 payable to Northwest Harvest and send it to Darryl. Months after the fact it is far past time for you to make good on your lost wager against Obama/Biden winning re-election.

Joke du jour:

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, ‘I cannot accept money from you , I’m doing community service this week.’ The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a ‘thank you’ card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, ‘I cannot accept money from you , I’m doing community service this week.’ The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a ‘thank you’ card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, ‘I can not accept money from you. I’m doing community service this week.’ The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

Actually, Mike BoyScoutFucker is a running joke, but the above is just for today.

When did you fuck your first Boy Scout, Mike?

Shrill. Nasty. Overwrought.

MBS, you’re really getting under this asshole’s skin, that’s for sure.

6. MikeBoyScout spews:

@4 Kap’n Kornflake – Serial Reneger,

So in addition to not honoring your wagers you sit around and engage in pedophilia fantasies too?

You’re one sick twisted POS.

7. Serial conservative spews:

@ 6

Well, I have as much proof you’re a homosexual pedophile as you do that I didn’t pay off.

Since you’ve set your bar so low, I feel free to do the same.

Here’s the thing about this:

I can prove I paid – got the CC hard copy this week.. Can you prove you don’t fuck young boys for sport?

Time to drop this, MikeBoyScoutFucker.

8. MikeBoyScout spews:

@7 Kap’n Kornflake – Serial Reneger with fantasies of pedophilia,

You’ve got proof you mailed Darryl a check in the amount of $1,000 made payable to Northwest Harvest?

I don’t think you do.

9. Serial conservative spews:

Hey, YLB, better check your closet to make sure those precious Obama kneepads are safe. One of the editors at Newsweek

Wow – he really is lashing out at you, must have hit a nerve.

It’s just typical – you two made a bet – you in good faith it appears – and when the time came due to pay up – he wants to change the rules and short-circuit the mechanism that ensures compliance. He wants credit for paying up, and is offering non-verifiable evidence of such, but does not want to follow the rules as established – and offers no compelling reason to do so.

“Trust me” he is essentially demanding, while he does what he wants.

Republicans are such predictable creatures.

12. rhp6033 spews:

It seems that while there is considerable work to be done in Congress, the Republicans are at a three-day retreat focusing primarily on – public relations.

Although there was some urgency for a change, the consensus was that the change was about how to communicate, not about rethinking core policy positions.

“This is about tone. It’s about messaging and it’s about showing people what we’re for instead of what we’re against,” said Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell, a Republican, describing his message to House GOP members at a lunch-time session Thursday.

There was, however, some discussion of how to handle the pending debt-ceiling crisis which is looming in just a couple of weeks. The consensus seems to be that they will kick that can down the road just a bit – perhaps until March 1, when further negotiations on the budget are to be finalized. But a lot of Republicans are insisting that they want the Democrats to give something for only a six-week extention, at which time they will again demand other concessions:

“If we’re willing to do it, we want something in return,” said Rep. John Fleming, R-La., one of the chamber’s most fiscally conservative members. “Our constituents are going to demand that. Even if it’s short-term, what are we getting for that?”

House Republicans Consider Ways to Improve Image

Meanwhile, Democrats are all about keeping children safe from rifles and assault weapons, which are far less likely to harm them than just about any other device.

Our ruling

The post uses data selectively, ignoring the significant role of handguns in gun violence. But the statistics it mentions are solid. FBI data backs up the Facebook post’s claim that in 2011, more people were murdered with knives, “hands or feet” or “clubs and hammers” than with any type of rifle. We rate the statement True.

Personally, I think that small steps are in order, and keeping local Boy Scouts safe from our local pedophile and card-carrying NAMBLA memberMikeBoyScout would be a good place to start.

14. Serial conservative spews:

Making our children safer. Sorta.

A Washington state school district has hired armed guards to patrol its campuses.

Citing the recent mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the Ridgefield School District near Vancouver signed a contract with security consulting company Phoenix Protective Corp.

Maybe they can pull the sugared soft drinks out of the vending machines while they’re at it.

Kap’n Kornflake – – Serial Reneger with fantasies of pedophilia,

In your WINGNUT newsfeed that you regurgitate here, is there some mention of not paying one’s obligations is a hallmark of so called ‘conservatives’?

You’re just like Michelle far away eyes Bachmann.

Write a check for $1,000 payable to Northwest Harvest and send it to Darryl. Months after the fact it is far past time for you to make good on your lost wager against Obama/Biden winning re-election.

@4 We take this to mean you’re not going to pay your debt. Should we infer you’re impairing your credit reputation on this blog because you’re in the bottom 1% socioeconomically and consequently not good for it?

Isn’t the NRA’s desire for a national registry of the addle minded substantially started with the list of registered Republicans?

19. No Time for Fascists spews:

You know Serial “Reneger with fantasies of pedophilia” Conn, the way I see it, people want their handguns, but they don’t see a need for military style weaponry. Start with that, universal background checks, ban large capacity clips, Ban armor-piercing bullets (we dont already?) and see where we are.

20. No Time for Fascists spews:

Bush wiped out a $5.6 trillion surplus in two years and and the national debt hit $10 trillion on his watch.
Remember how right wingers screamed about that?

That’s because they didn’t. Debts only matter when democrats are in the white house. Hypocrites!

21. Serial conservative spews:

@ 19

There isn’t really much of that I disagree with.

@ 20

Um, $5.6T surplus? Was that projected? Like the projections that Obamacare will only cost $1T?

22. MikeBoyScout spews:

@21Kap’n Kornflake – – Serial Reneger with fantasies of pedophilia,

Projected like your commitment to meet your obligation when you lose a wager; worth nothing because it depends upon a so called conservative to manage it competently and honestly.

23. rhp6033 spews:

# 21: Everything is projected, until a couple of years after they occur. I believe he was talking about an eight-year projection. But then, all budgets have to talk in terms of multi-year numbers, because numbers can easily be postponed for one year with greater costs in suceeding years, or a new savings initiative may take some time to put the systems in place before the results are felt.

When all the data was in and the numbers crunched, they found that the Great Rescession actually started under George W. Bush’s watch in 2007, not 2008. But it wasn’t until it became a potential election year issue that it was acknowledged by the Bush administration. (Today’s date in history: George W. Bush proposed stimulating the economy on this date in 2008, by proposing yet another round of tax cuts for businesses).

24. rhp6033 spews:

Hey, let’s have some fun. What Republicans are credible candidates for President in 2016? The previous candidates, like Bachman, Gingrich (married until she gets old then leaves ‘em), Perry, etc.? Or how about former S. Carolina Gov. “hiking the Appalachians” Sanford? The pizza guy? How about Rubio, Christ, or Jebb Bush (all passed last time around). What about the current Republican Congressional leadership (Boener, etc.?).

I can see Ryan thinking he had a shot, which is a bit laughable.

25. Serial conservative spews:

Consider this, Mr. President: During the first 16 days of January, 26 people have been killed by guns in Chicago — the exact same number as at Sandy Hook Elementary School. By the time this year is out, the south and west sides of the city we both call home will have endured, in terms of sheer numbers of people killed, the equivalent of 20 Sandy Hook massacres. That’s on top of the equivalent of the 19 Sandy Hooks the city experienced in 2012.

Nineteen Sandy Hooks. That’s an awful lot of dead 6- and 7-year olds.

I guess to you lefties it doesn’t sound so bad if it’s inner-city deaths.

26. Liberal Scientist is a Dirty Fucking Socialist Hippie spews:

I guess to you lefties it doesn’t sound so bad if it’s inner-city deaths.

You are vile.

I hesitate to write that because I strongly suspect that it makes you happy to elicit that response.

On top of being vile, you’re also wrong, in that very few 6 and 7 year olds are killed by gun violence in Chicago. See here. Not that it makes any of those murders OK, it just underscores your willingness to be totally inaccurate in the pursuit of a cheap shot.

BTW, have you ever complained about the evil of all the murdered Iraqi innocent women and children, whose blood in on the hands of Bush and cheneya nd Rumsfeld and Rove, et al.?

27. Chris spews:

I don’t see how the same people who recognize the failed policy of drug prohibition and alcohol prohibition could support tighter gun control laws thinking that will help. The failed policy of the war on drugs and several decades ago alcohol proves laws dont change behavior much. Republicans have equally bad logic recognizing that if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns but thinking you can stop people from using drugs at the same time with laws.

28. MikeBoyScout spews:

@25 Kap’n Kornflake – – Serial Reneger with fantasies of pedophilia,

Is that story on the same WINGNUT talking points news feed you get which tells you not to meet the obligation of the wager you lost by betting Rmoney/Ly’n Ryan over Obama/Biden?

Yes, if only President Obama was as Dedicated To Disarming Al Qaeda As Pres. Obama Seems To Be To Disarming” Americans and cared about more than Sandyhook. You’re so concerned for the poor children you won’t meet your obligation and write a check for $1,000 payable to Northwest Harvest and send it to Darryl.

What did the soshulist Kenyan King Obama say the other day?

“In the month since 20 precious children and six brave adults were violently taken from us at Sandy Hook Elementary, more than 900 of our fellow Americans have reportedly died at the end of a gun — 900 in the past month. And every day we wait, that number will keep growing.”

Lying twisted welshing POS concern troll is what you are.

30. Michael spews:

Shea, the judge, the (non)prosecutor all need to go.

State Rep. Matthew Shea no longer faces a misdemeanor gun charge sparked when he pulled a gun during a road rage dispute.

Shea, R-Spokane Valley, was charged in 2011 for keeping a loaded gun in his pickup without a valid concealed weapons permit.

City of Spokane Municipal Court Judge Tracy Staab determined on Friday that Shea complied with the deal he made with city prosecutors a year ago. In it, prosecutors agreed to drop the charge if he didn’t violate other non-traffic laws for a year.

31. Roger Rabbit spews:

@30 There’s a guaranteed way to make sure a road rager who pulls a weapon never does it again. I’m not advocating this, but you know, they don’t have much road rage recidivism in Russia.

32. rhp6033 spews:

# 25: There goes serial, with another attempt at deflection. “Don’t look at all the mass shootings! Look somewhere else! If it doesn’t work somewhere else, then we can’t do it at all!”
