    @2 you would think that big business would be against the idea too. How are private employers that reimburse employees for mileage going to deal with this? I work with a lot of people that drvie more than 150 miles round trip per day, and the company reimburses at federal rate per mile after 60 miles. So depending on how this impacts that rate, employers could be paying more to thier employers. But I guess either way, if you are gettting your mileage reimbursed you are lucky either way. The winners – unless they decide to tax another way – are the city dwellers that don’t use a car. I wonder if big cities get hurt this way. Some of the 9 million people in new york city that don’t use thier cars that much.

    Yesterday the Greeks sent an inspiring message to the world; democracy can work for working class people. Movement politics can achieve power. Oligarchs can be defeated by broad coalitions of common people. It is the political story of the decade, and yet the left side of the blogosphere has been largely silent about it. Are there clear lessons to be learned from this electoral victory? Can it be replicated elsewhere? Is it necessary to have 25% unemployment for the left to achieve electoral victory? How can rightwing populism and nativism be overcome?
    These are the questions that should be deeply examined right now.

    Pyromania in children is extraordinarily rare. Impulse Control Disorder is fairly common and can manifest in behaviors that in adults might be labeled as kleptomania or pyromania or other OCD-type behaviors (nail biting, hair pulling etc.) Some kids can be “corrected” away from the behavior but by no means will all respond to “discipline.”

    I’m not surprised to learn that you believe you can just discipline the behavior out of all kids. Fits your troll profile. “Anything I believe is CORRECT and scientific evidence to the contrary LIES!” Piddles, every day, all day.
