Markos of Daily Kos fame, the guy who allegedly tells all us other liberal bloggers exactly what to write and think, will be at Seattle’s Town Hall Sunday night, 7:30 PM, reading from and signing his new book “American Taliban: How War, Sex, Sin, and Power Bind Jihadists and the Radical Right.” Tickets are $5.
Join me in slavishly following Markos’ every word.
(No, really… it’s a great book. Keep meaning to write a review.)

3rd Place Books in the Ravenna nabe (65th & 20th NE) has signs up for Monday at 7 PM. Nothing about prices, so reward good behavior and be ready to buy a book while you’re there. Somehow the idea that everyone here’s literate (more or less) means that there’s a certain desire for the printed word. Caucus of Trolls, there’s a children’s book section, make yourselves at home but play nice.
Another TJ spews:
All hail Dark Lord Kos.

I like the site. Can’t say the same about its founder…..
Bluecollar Libertarian spews:
Never read it.
YLB spews:
Can anyone tell me what Markos’ book does that Max Blumenthal’s book didn’t do already?
I heard one interview Markos gave about the book and I couldn’t understand what he was trying to accomplish with the book.
It seemed like he phoned the book in. But I haven’t read it so I’ll shut up now.

YLB @5:
Not all that much, really. But Markos is one of those who really, really rile up the mouth-breathers — right up there with ACORN and Soros — so he’ll always draw more attention to his works than will a near-unknown like Blumenthal.
To you and me, calling the likes of Tancredo, Boehner, Phelps, Beck, et al., “Taliban” may seem self-evident, but others require prodding and reminding.
notaboomer spews:
will kos celebrate the afpak expansion of war that he and his main man, o’bomber, campaigned on? o’bomber youth should be there in force with five dollar bills.
Clinging to my guns and religion spews:
I’ll be watching the Bears destroy the Giants.

@9, 10
The Righties, wether they be Tallibs or Christianist, are all geeked out about sex. Their geeked outness draws them together. Us liberals aren’t geeked out about sex.
The books is pointing out how the Talibs and the Righties are really quite alike.

I wonder Goldy, how many of those other bloggers actually have jobs and work for a living? Just curious….
Brian spews:
I’m sorry that I’m out town. The Great Orange Satan always amuses and is good about going out for drinks too.
spyder spews:
Michael, i believe the little boy double-posting isn’t aware of the issue of homosexuality among the rightwingnuttery. Adultery is fine, it is the bathroom breaks and drug-fueled frenzy among the anti-gay glitterati that indicates the depth of the problem.
JP spews:
Mar’kos’ is a feeble minded pundit. I saw him speak at Seattle Townhall last week and found him to be intellectually dishonest.
Characterizing Pat Buchanan as a “Neo-Nazi” is totally off base. Instead of taking words out of context read Pats book, I do not agree with the premise but contrary to what Kos would like you to believe he is by no means defending Nazis, anti-semitics, or Hitler. Pat Buchanan is a regular commentator on MSNBC, if Pat was a Nazi he would have been kicked off the network long ago.
Speaking of being kicked off MSNBC Kos’ pity cry about getting kicked off of MSNBC is dishonest. He’d like you blame his outsting entirely on the “Morning Joe twitter fiasco”. No I’m sorry Kos, you were kicked off for that AND the consistently bad interviews you had while on MSNBC. For example baiting Tom Tancredo with off-topic personal insults on his military record during a health care debate is not network news worthy. Kos is intelligent enough to understand.
