As the letter suggests, it is unusual (and, frankly, remarkable) that a senatorial candidate in the middle of an important race is actually asking you to send money to another candidate! In this case to Darcy Burner.

Ok, here’s a peep. He’s still serving because he hasn’t been convicted of anything. We can’t just remove a sitting Congressman without some sort of hearing. The people of Louisiana will have that opportunity in November.
However, based on strong suspicion, he has been removed from various committees and positions of leadership. While we have a presumption of innocence in criminal matters, there is little doubt that he used very poor judgement in some of his dealings, which is sufficient for that removal.
I’m actually somewhat more upset by Mr. Jefferson than I am with Mr. Ney. I’ve come to expect bad behaviour from Republicans. I hold Democrats to a higher standard. Mr. Jefferson does not, in my opinion, live up to that standard.
Even if it is eventually determined that he broke no laws (a result that will surprise me) there is no doubt that he ignored the appearance of impropriety. Hopefully, Louisiana voters will find a suitable replacement. He has a number of challengers, both from the Democrats and the Republicans.
In essence, what the Democrats could do to Mr. Jefferson, we have done. It is now up to either the people of Louisiana or the criminal justice system (or both) to deal with him, based on his record as a Congressman and the evidence as it is presented.
Essentially, we find ourselves embarrassed by him, but as this is not a dictatorship where lawmakers can be jailed without trial, we’re stuck letting the system work.
And if he’s convicted, he can and should share a cell with Mr. Ney. Perhaps we’ll end up with a Congressional wing at Club Fed.
Oh, and Janet. Perhaps I missed something. Mr. Rove is coming out to support Mr. Reichert, as have several prominent Republicans. Mr. Rove will be meeting with various Republican supporters, raising funds. You support this. (I think it’s a bad move on their part, but have no problem with the concept.)
– Side note – You’ll also note that there is only one voice using the term “traitor” with respect to Mr. Rove. He is welcome to his opinion, but I am not so sure that the term applies. I’ll just be happy when the term “unemployed” fits him.
Ms. Gregoire has voiced support for Ms. Burner, and is helping her to raise funds. You have a problem with this. She’s “sold the Governor’s Mansion”.
It’s ok for Republicans to support Republicans, but if a Democrat supports another Democrat, then they are “bought and paid for”.
Do you see a certain pattern here? Before accusing us of hypocrisy, you might want to check out your own position. Not that we’re entirely free of hypocrisy (hey, we’re human) but there is the old saying about the pot and the kettle, not to mention that other one about the speck in your neighbor’s eye.
Maybe we can get Pam Roach aka Janet S and her son to jail too. Since Roach’s kid is a druggie, you have to wonder if she isn’t living the life too?
I suspect Karl Rove is traveling under the auspices of the RNC or one of the satellite re-election arms. If you remember correctly, he gave up his job and security clearances back in April to focus on the upcoming elections.
The illegitimate queen, on the other hand has offered up a prize that does not belong to her, but to the STATE, staffed by STATE employees, in her capacity as a STATE employee herself.

Of course, but over at SP, they have a section dedicated to it called “Sewer of Corruption (XX)”.
I just did a quick check over there, and Mr. Sharkansky has not seen fit to put up a post on the situation with Mr. Ney. He does seem to have a section on how Justice Alexander is running a dirty campaign against that pillar of judicial integrity, John Groen.
(I’m not reading through many pages over there in order to find out what the posters are saying about Mr. Ney. After having been roundly told that my posts were not welcome, I announced that I would no longer post there, and will keep my word. I’m not sure how it would be implemented, but transparency in government is always a good idea.
While we’re at it, we could do away with “secret holds” and other parlementary trickery that make good bills vanish because the wrong person supports them.
In my business we have a saying. “Disclose, disclose, disclose.” Tell everything, and tell it in writing, with copies signed by everyone. Seems like a good way for governments to do business as well. I have little hope that my candidates will do a lot better than the current bunch, but I am hoping for a little improvement, and I’ll take any improvement that I can get.
