    Liberals pressure Fox News advertisers

    By DAVID BAUDER

    AP Television Writer

NEW YORK — Liberal activists are stepping up their campaign against Fox News Channel by pressuring advertisers not to patronize the network.

MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America’s Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

Just more proof that liberals can’t handle the truth.

Dems do in a matter of months, what the Publicans couldn’t do in 5.5 years – most of the 9.11 committee report is now FINALLY being enacted. This is a major blow to the Bush regime which fought the commission in the first place, and then stonewalled their report. Dems protect America. Publicans polarize it.

    Nobody? Thought so.

True. I’m having extreme difficulty dealing with such dishonesty and mendacity coming from what, to all appearances, is a fellow sentinent human being.

Sometimes being a liberal is hard.

My favorite quips from the multimedia extravaganza (both from Colbert):

“I love this show [Hannity & Colmes]. It’s like watching Dorian Gray and his picture at the same time.”

    and

“Sean Hannity knows there is no greater threat to America today than Bill Clinton 15 years ago.”

No. It’s proof that a market-driven “news” source responds to market pressure more readily than truth.

How do you arrive at these idiotic conclusions?

If you read the *rest* of the articles about this you’ll find that one of the FauxNews slimeballs used exactly the same tactic to put pressure on JetBlue to drop sponsorship of a DailyKos event. Sauce for the goose and all that, you know.

If not fear of being asked tough questions why aren’t the dems debating on fox?

SunnyJIM and the moment of silence.

Please folks, can we have a moment of appreciation that our representative spent his staff’s time finding a quote form Eisenhower, his own time rehearsing the delivery of the quote to the House, the House’s time listening to the quote, and a few seconds of shared time devoted to mourning those who have dies in Iraq.

Such nobility in a congess has rarely passed through this world before. Cicero himself would have been honored by such a noble speech.

    A memorable moment.

Well, what the hell…we might as well admit that almost everything on TV is just there for entertainment anyway. Perhaps the next Presidential debate should be on “Entertainment Tonight” or “Access Hollywood”, sandwiched between vitally important bulletins about Paris Hilton’s dog or what color bra Victoria Beckham wore to her driving exam. Better yet, why not have all the candidates appear on “Fear Factor” and talk about the war or fixing health care while they jump from a helicopter and eat live frogs? Fuck Hannity and O’Reilly…put ’em all in a “Celebrity Roast”, get ’em drunk and have them trade insults with Don Rickles and Robin Williams.

Nobody seems to get the point…and the point is, that there’s no point. It’s all bullshit.

Well, Coultergeist, in a rare moment of candid truthfulness, admitted that Fox Noise has a vested interest in seeing the Democrats lose the Presidential election. So, which is worse, Democrats boycotting a debate on Fox Noise, or Republicans boycotting a YouTube debate?

Hm… Democrats refusing to answer questions from the PR outlet of the RNC or Republicans refusing to answer questions from ordinary citizens. I’m sure some wingnut will come up with some twisted logic to explain this one away.

The left is just pissed that Fox has consistently kicked CNN and MSNBC’s ass in the ratings. They just cannot stomach the fact that the most successful cable news outlet leans conservative. Furthermore, their boycotts should come as so surprise. Trying to silence views they disagree with is standard fare of the left. That is exactly what political correctness is…..muzzling speach and viewpoints they deem to be offensive. Instead of silencing conservative viewpoints, what they should be doing is trying to beat Fox news in the ratings. Since they can’t seem to accomplish that with the likes of childlike Sportscasters masquerading as serious journalists, the crazies on the left try and go after their sponsors.

As long as you don’t count Lowe’s pulling its ads from O’Reilly’s dog-and-pony show. But let’s ignore that; it can’t possibly count as much as having JetBlue’s logo on the YKos banner.

If not fear of being asked tough questions, why aren’t the reps participating in the YouTube debate?

More evidence of the left’s inability to tolerate viewpoints that differ from their own. They prance around claiming to have a monopoly on tolerance and openmindedness, but the fact of the matter is they are the most intolerant people on the planet, even rivaling the Taliban.

You are mistaken – not that facts matter to conservatives. Lowe’s pulled its ads previously, but later quietly reinstated them. It has since pulled them again.

Here’s the response to a complaint about Lowe’s and their recent adverstising on the O’Reilly cavalcade of hate:

    Replied On 07/27/07 15:41:09

    Dear Lowe’s Customer,

Thank you for your comments regarding the program, The O’Reilly Factor.

Lowe’s has strict guidelines that govern the placement of our advertising. Our company advertises primarily in national, network prime-time television programs and on a variety of cable outlets.

Lowe’s constantly reviews advertising buys to make certain they are consistent with its policy guidelines. The O’Reilly Factor does not meet Lowe’s advertising guidelines, and the company’s advertising will no longer appear during the program.

We are dedicated to providing the best service, products, and shopping environment in the home improvement industry. All three of these are very important to our business, and our customers will always be our number one priority.

We appreciate your contacting us, and hope this information addresses your concerns.

    Thank you,

    Lowe’s Customer Care

Thanks for playing. Next time, try getting your information from someplace more reliable than Little Green Racists.

Well whoopty fucking do!!! And the point of all this is????

The only regret I have is that the detained al Qaeda members are not being fed to sharks piece by piece, having white hot rods fulls of spikes shoved up their ass, or other similarly brutal and unimagineable methods. Whatever we are doing to them, it is WAY to humane and we should wratchet up the beatings 1000 fold.

Mark, you can speak your viewpoints anytime, the only problem is that it is usually just a lot of belly aching hypocricy. Doesn’t change the fact that I am Republican – I am Stupid and an idiot with my head up my ass looking for anything of any significance. I have yet to hear any viewpoints, just whining and crying. For example. A staunch Repbulican in my office (fat piece of shit that he is)- the other day he was crying about NAFTA and how it was President Clinton and the democrats that were the responsible for it. But if he only that George Sr. championed it and more Republicans voted it than Democrats. Now I’m not going to argue the good or the bad of NAFTA, you can do that. The point I make is that this fat piece of shit is just quick to whine and complain and blame instead of looking at his own parties faults – self-righteous bastard that he is.

Mark, here is an excerpt from the Republican Debate in California.

Moderator: I’m sorry, we have to go on. We have to go on.

Governor Thompson, same theme. If a private employer finds homosexuality immoral, should he be allowed to fire a gay worker?

Thompson: I think that is left up to the individual business. I really sincerely believe that that is an issue that business people have got to make their own determination as to whether or not they should be.

Moderator: OK. So the answer’s yes.

    Thompson: Yes.

Does Tommy Thompson want every homosexual on Welfare? Or would he prefer that they just starve to death. Homosexuals don’t have the right to a job like any other human being?

Have the Republicans forgotten the words to the Pledge of Alligiance, “with liberty and justice for all” God knows every Republican wants the Pledge of Alligiance recited by all, they just don’t believe the words should be applied to all. Makes perfect sense.

What about the constitution – that states “all men are created equal”. I guess Tommy has an asteric next to that one.

Vote Tommy – You too can be a stupid, moronic idiot with your head up your ass.
