A lot of Republicans are jumping ship right now. The tsunami started in 2006 and is just still rising. The next 14 months are going to be very interesting.

Fascinating.
I wonder who is next.
This confirms my belief that Obama is a bigger threat than HRC. An Obama/Warner ticket in Virginia might be indomitable.
Of course Warner is an old man. That may be why he is resigning BUT he does not seem to have groomed a successor and the presence of James Webb in the Jr. chair from VA can’t help the Publicans.
If I had a voice in WA state Publican campaign, I would somehow get John McKay on the ticket and have Schwarznegger’s support for the new GOP.
BTW, you might look at my post over at SJ on the new ? G-phone. That is also exciting. If true it could revolutionize the business you are in. Imagine anytime anywhere access for free?

How Stupid Is Marvin Stamn?
This stupid:
“Marvin is actually not from this area (he’s from Los Angeles, apparently). Why he comments at a blog that’s geared towards Washington State politics, I don’t know. But with the recent success of Congressional candidate Darcy Burner’s fundraiser, Marvin thought he’d get in on the act. He was curious why he didn’t see some of our names in the ActBlue page:
“‘Perusing through the list washington state was less than half the donations (didn’t check every name on every page so my initial estimate could be off) Didn’t find a david goldstein, lee, rogerrabbit or seattlejew listed. I’m guessing their contributions would be under the actblue webpage – http://www.actblue.com/entity/ fundraisers/8619′
“I made a largely unsuccessful attempt to explain to Marvin that ‘rogerrabbit’ and ‘seattlejew’ are actually web pseudonyms, and not their real names, while someone else pointed out that he linked to the ActBlue page from the 2006 election. He replied:
“‘If these aren’t for 2008, why do they say 2008? …
“Evidently, our genius friend thought that the ’08’ was the year of the election and not an indication that Darcy Burner is running for the 8th Congressional District.”

Los Angeles, eh? My guess is Marvin is a college student and blogging on HA is a part-time job. He’s probably paid by the College Republicans with the money they got by defrauding senior citizens. They’re probably not paying him very much, because you generally get what you pay for, and they’re not getting very much. We can only hope that Marvin is still in his probationary employment period so the UCLA College Republicans don’t get permanently stuck with this dumbshit.

Even if the morning news were 100% about Democratic candidates, more often than not, the stations follow their 2 hours of “liberal” morning news with 22 hours of conservative talk. It’s odd that these groups would bite the hand that feeds this way.
BTW, on the topic of liberals on AM, the survival of Goldy’s show on KIRO disproves the conventional wisdom that AM radio is exclusively the province of “small ‘l’ libertarians” and the tinfoil loincloth crowd. Conservatives snicker at the failure of Air America, but there may be a large untapped market for liberals on AM if only the programming were right.

Yet another example of liberal bias –
Mayor of one of the most gay-friendly cities in America, Naugle touched off a ferocious dispute in July, when the Sun-Sentinel published his comments that the city has a problem with gay men cruising public restrooms for sex. He was quoted as saying, “I don’t use the word gay. I use the word homosexual. Most of them aren’t gay. They’re unhappy.”
Naugle’s comments didn’t start as a campaign; he was opining about a one-stall, super-toilet requested by the beach community because the oceanfront lacks public restrooms. Naugle liked the $250,000 self-cleaning robo-toilet, in part because he said it would deter the “homosexual activity” a traditional bathroom attracts. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/ne.....8342.story
Marvs words – once again in the proud liberal tradition, political affiliation is omitted from the article. Meaning only one thing, he’s a democrat.

@36 “Conservatives snicker at the failure of Air America”
What do you mean, “failure?” Last time I tuned to AM 1090, Air America was still on the air.
Do I care whether AA makes money? Or who owns it? Or whether it’s subsidized by rich guys? No. Why should I? Nearly all rightwing propaganda is subsidized by rich guys, so what’s wrong with subsidizing liberal programming?
We know Washington Times loses $50 million a year and is supported by Sun Myung Moon’s criminal enterprises. We don’t know if Fox News makes money, but I’d bet dollars-for-donuts that it’s subsidized by Fox Network’s entertainment programming if not by News Corp. The Scaife, Bradley, and other troglodyte foundations plus large donors pour billions into financing rightwing propaganda.
For that matter, I can’t imagine Ann Coulter’s books and public appearances being moneymakers without subsidies from somewhere or other. We all know how “bestsellers” can be (and are) created — you print a jillion books and a sugar daddy buys three-fourths of them to pump up the sales figures, which go straight to the paper recycling shredder, unread. The rest of them are used as door stops. Or maybe some people buy Coulter’s books to display on the coffee table when the boss comes over for dinner and daddy is angling for a promotion. I once saw a guy use a Coulter book as a cutting board to cut fish heads off on. Okay, I made that up, but I’ll bet someone has used a Coulter book for that. That’s what I would use her books for, if someone gave me one.

@40 “Marvin Stamn says: … Let’s not forget, another proud democrat. I’m seeing a trend here.”
The fact Nifong called himself a “Democrat” for the purpose of running for public office in a county that votes 90% Democratic doesn’t make him a Democrat, any more than whackjob “Rev.” Fred Phelps calling himself a “Democrat” makes him one.
Nifong was a career attorney in the local prosecutor’s office. It was the only legal job he ever had. He never participated in party activities or local politics. Then the elected prosecutor’s job became vacant and Nifong, interested in securing said job, persuaded the Democratic governor to appoint him. The governor later said it was the worst appointment he ever made.
The local Democratic Party didn’t know Nifong. They ran a candidate against him in the Democratic primary who nearly beat him by running on a platform of not wanting the job and promising not to serve if elected.
Nifong is no more a “Democrat” than Fred Phelps is. Low Tax Looper called himself a “Democrat” too, for the purpose of running for the Georgia legislature, but after losing that election he moved to Tennessee, declared himself a conservative Republican, got elected county assessor with the backing of the local GOP, and proceeded to get indicted on 14 counts of fraud, theft, and corruption. All of these charges became moot when he attempted to get elected to the state senate by eliminating his opponent. Literally. After murdering his opponent, Looper was the only candidate left on the ballot. Nevertheless, a Democratic write-in candidate got 96% of the vote — in a Republican county. Looper is now doing life without parole at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary.
Like Low Tax Looper and the homophobic preacher Fred Phelps, Nifong called himself a “Democrat” but behaves like a Republican and undoubtedly is a Republican at hard. Nifong’s perjury, lying, and malicious prosecution of the innocent Duke University students brands him as a Republican in the Alberto Gonzales mold.

Living in Fear for Helping America
Published: September 1, 2007
Of all the Iraqis jaded by the failure of the United States’ invasion, few are more fearful than the tens of thousands who worked loyally for the American war effort but now find themselves hunted as traitors by militant gunmen.
The Bush administration only lately stepped up the effort to offer them special refugee status, but it turns out that very few are able to safely apply. It’s too dangerous to process them within Iraq, so these harrowed workers must risk expensive trips to Jordan and Syria to apply at American Embassies. It is a classic Catch-22 that has many hiding in terror in their home neighborhoods. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09.....1sat2.html

I am not a party line voter. I have voted for Republicans when I felt they were the better choice. I have publically doubted the quality of our current gov and still fee she can and should be defeated. BUT, that only means I beleve we need real alternatives. A party led by folks immerses in fanatasy … Traq war = Terrosism, inteligent design, the evil weed, free markets, etc. is not fit to govern anymore thatn a party led by leftish fanatasies should govern,
The Rove effect on the Republicans was scary because it was creating a truly dangerous alliance of extremists. Now it looks as if the piper has come to collect his wages. The Republican party is a shambles.
This is not good. Ours IS a two party system and will do best when there is realistic opposition. As realistic Republicans flee or become Dems (James Webb) there is a real danger of the Replicans sinking to a core that believes the simplistic Rove mantra canc an not govern.
Fred Thompson is the latest symptom. He is not a bad guy. He is probably more intelligent than lil Bush, but this is faint praise. errr ahhh, how does he stand up to the Demo candidates?
Thomson is out of his league and probably knows that but sees this as a unique opportunity.
Why can’t the Repricans be honest? … Bush is a failure, Rove damaged the party. The time has come for new leadership. Thompson and the rest of the Reprican candidates can not realistically lead the party. Some are just second rate. Some have beliefs and life styles that are bizar by the standards of Rove. At least one has a true religious issue he can not solve.
The only credible Reprican Prexy is Romney, but he can not win because Mit belongs to a large but sect-like religion. The sad thing is that instead of standing up for moderation, th esquare jawed Superman look-alike, is drinking the kryptonite laced Rovian brew.
Look around the US for popular, successful Replicans. Romney, S’negger stand out. Why? because they are rational conservatives. Iraq, the whit picket border, prayer in the schools, flat taxes, etc are irrational stances.
The answer???
Renew the party. Seek new leadership built around Whitman, the Bush Is, Schwartznegger. Draft businmess leaders into politics instead of second rate demaguougues like Rove.
Since HA is not about advising the enemy andf I fear becoming the Dreyfus of HAland, I am going to repost it at SeattleJew

Meanwhile, the finance co-chair of Mitt Romney’s campaign, Mel Sembler, is a man who was involved in setting up a chain of “teen drug rehab centers” which were busted for kidnapping and torturing teens, some who never even used drugs before.
@55 Marvs words – once again in the proud liberal tradition, political affiliation is omitted from the article. Meaning only one thing, he’s a democrat.
OK, Marvin, so in the past you’ve said the following:
1. The news (not the opinions) presented by Fox News is not biased towards Republicans.
2. When a news outlet tries to obscure someone’s political party affiliation, that reveals a bias.
So, knowing that Fox News has attempted to call Mark Foley a Democrat when was exposed as a creepy pedophile:
@79 Mormons are really big on the teen ‘treatment centers’ I can tell you. There has been scandal after scandal in Utah and eastern Nevada where teens have died after being abused in these concentration camps. The funny thing is, they run these places, but won’t send their own kids to them (too cheap).

@85 The first one was o’reilly so we can both ignore that one.
Haha, nice try. So, in the future, when you try to convince people that there’s an equivalence between O’Reilly and Olbermann, you’ll be armed with examples of Olbermann mislabeling people’s party identification?

And people of political parties have a diversity of opinion. So unlike how the posters here lump all publicans into the same bunch (and how I lump all liberals into the same bunch), there is diversity. I agree. Not all Republicans are as stupid as you. It’s certainly true that people here do buy into broad generalizations about Republicans. In fact, I called out Roger Rabbit for it in another front page thread. But the difference is that you’ve been here saying that you don’t do that, that you’re fighting against groupthink, but you don’t. You make the a bunch of idiotic generalizations about “the left”, and I’ve been enjoying smacking your amateur shit around.
There are some publicans that are pro choice, some liberals that are pro life.
Nearly all liberals are pro life. And most of those who are pro life are also pro choice.
Some publicans that are pro gay marriage, some liberals that are against gay marriage.
Sure, because the gay marriage issue is a moral issue and falls along the libertarian-authoritarian axis.
I must be the exception to your rule .. “he posters here lump all publicans into the same bunch .”
However, the reality is that the difference between the two parties is all too real. Today’s Democratic party is overwhelmingly anti imperialist, anti racist, realistic, pro-democratic, etc, Caling the DP “left” is dumb.
In contrast the Republican party is full of far right idealogues. I almost want to call it moderation vs, fantasy.
Let take one exmaple:
Creationism
The majority of Publican candidates endorse this at least as something to be taught.

Another democrat scandal- Hamann, a respected prosecutor appointed by Gov. Eliot Spitzer, declined to appear before the Senate investigations committee on Aug. 9, instead sending her top lawyer to face the barrage of critical questions. The committee’s second invitation came with the threat of a subpoena.
Dopp’s lawyer, Terence Kindlon, declined to comment. But people close to Dopp, 48, said he hopes to remain on the state payroll for another year or so to qualify for a full pension.
His suspension without pay since July 23 hit Dopp hard, both financially and psychologically. Another aide implicated in Choppergate, William Howard, wasn’t suspended and soon landed a job in the Homeland Security office, albeit at a lower salary.
Dopp’s punishment came hours after a report from the attorney general’s office concluded Dopp and Howard had misused the State Police in a plot to discredit Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno (R-Brunswick), Spitzer’s chief rival. The pair hoped to generate negative publicity about Bruno’s use of state helicopters to attend political events. Dopp has denied wrongdoing. He refused to be interviewed by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, but submitted a statement saying, “I regret any appearance of impropriety that was created.” http://www.newsday.com/news/lo.....1050.story
Dopp denied wrongdoing but refused to be interviewed by the attorney general (not labeled as a democrat strangely enough). Sounds like he is a scared little rabbit.
Interesting that republicans were labeled, Sen. George Winner Jr. (R-Elmira) & Joseph Bruno (R-Brunswick), Sen. Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) and democrats weren’t. Go figure. You know, I’m starting to sound like a broken record.

What’s inconsistent about it? No Democratic lawmakers were named, just people within Governor Spitzer’s office. Are the people who weren’t labeled elected or appointed officials? Because that makes a big difference.
The article probably could have indicated that Spitzer was a Democrat, but since it’s a New York newspaper, it’s safe to assume that they expect their readership to know that.
Do you feel like giving me serious examples here, or are you sticking with the amateur shit?
@100
And, as I’ve already pointed out to you, you don’t have shit unless you find cases where a newspaper misidentified a Democrat as a Republican in order to deflect bad publicity from the Democratic Party. Only THAT would be an equivalent to what happened on Fox News with Arlen Specter.
You are trying to ride a dead horse. Whatever the cause, the Repubs are in trouble. The party needs a reform leader, someone to play the role Clinton played in the Dem party.
The GOP will be GLOP unless it finds a way to rid itself of:
religious extremism
sexual obsession

Airlines Stealing Skycaps’ Tips
Here’s a cheap-labor story as outrageous as McGavick’s scheme to let restaurant owners empty the waitress tip jar into their own pockets:
SeaTac skycaps, who are employed by contractors who pay the absolutely lowest wage that state law allows — and get zero benefits — live on their tips.
Several airlines have begun charging passengers a “bag handling fee,” typically $2 a bag. Passengers naturally think this money is for skycap service. But the airlines pocket it all, giving nothing to the skycaps, and tips are plummeting.
Airport and airline officials say, yes, there’s a problem — but then they whine about fuel costs blah blah. Bottom line: No one is willing to pay the skycaps a living wage. Oh — one more thing — the contractors refuse to say how much profit they’re making from the skycaps’ undercompensated labor.
“SEATTLE (AP) – … It used to be that a skycap could live on tips … [but] in the post-Sept. 11 world of airline penny pinching, their income is being whittled away by the airlines and the companies they contract with. …
“United, Alaska Airlines, US Airways, Northwest, American and America West charge $2 a bag for curb checking, but that money isn’t going to the skycaps. It goes to the contractors and/or airlines. The result, the skycaps say, is financial hardship ….
“‘The fee on baggage has dramatically lessened the tips I would have received,’ said skycap James Taggart, 44, who has worked at Sea-Tac for 23 years and commutes from Puyallup to do so. ‘ … Now, when I get $5 for two bags, $4 goes to the company ….”
“The trick is finding a system to satisfy all three parties, and that is a long way off. In the meantime, skycaps say, their incomes are dropping. …
“It is not known how profitable the contracting companies who work with skycaps and wheelchair attendants are; representatives from Huntleigh and AirServ – which, along with ACSI and Aviation Safeguards manage skycaps at the airport through contracts with airlines or other third-party contractors – did not return calls for comment. …
“Sergio Salinas, president of SEIU Local 6, which represents a portion of the skycaps at Sea-Tac, said that all the parties recognize the skycap issue, but no one with the authority to make change wants to step up.
“‘Over the last 30 years, we’ve been trying to get the situation taken care of and make these people have a decent wage and medical benefits, but instead of that, what we’ve seen is the airlines imposing a new system which charges $2 per bag,’ Salinas said. ‘Passengers don’t understand that this $2 does not go to the skycap.’
” … Salinas believes that the port should take over the contracting and push to have one skycap company and one wheelchair company for the entire airport.
“After the Sept. 11 attacks, Alaska Airlines wanted to get rid of skycaps altogether to save money and did so, for a little while. But it was persuaded by a contractor to begin charging for the service in order to provide it, and many other airlines followed suit.
“‘We are all working under tough economic constraints driven by high fuel prices, increasing competition and fluctuations in the national economy for leisure travel,’ Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Caroline Boren said. …
“‘The airlines don’t want to pay,’ said James Collins, 60, who has been working at Sea-Tac as a skycap since 1992. ‘Nobody does.'”
Roger Rabbit Commentary: The airlines are all for the skycaps who serve their passenbers making a living wage — as long as THEY get to keep the tips and someone else has to pay the skycaps’ wages.

“U.S. airline industry could post record profit this year
“By Jeff Bailey
“Published: April 2, 2007
“CHICAGO: … [T]he U.S. airline industry could post record profits this year. …
“The Air Transport Association, a U.S. airline trade group, said it expected industry profits totaling $4 billion this year … [b]ut some think the industry could top its former record of about $5.4 billion in profit, set in 1999.
“‘It’s time to buy the airlines again,’ Bob McAdoo, an analyst at Prudential Equity Group, told clients in a report in March. He has … profit projections for this year that would easily set an industry record. …
“[B]ankruptcies, along with efforts by airlines not in bankruptcy, have drastically reduced labor … costs at airlines. … [P]lanes are mostly full and airlines have been able to raise fares … about 15 percent last year alone. … [V]ery few new planes are scheduled for delivery to domestic airlines this year or next, which will keep capacity tight and … allow further fare increases.
” … Philip Baggaley, who as a debt analyst at Standard & Poor’s gets paid to worry about the downside of the airline industry, said, ‘It’ll be the best year since the 1990s ….’
But … Baggaley and others see signs of trouble. Labor unions … are growing restive as they watch … airline executives collect big pay packages not … long after union members surrendered … one-third of their compensation to keep carriers afloat.”

What do you want anyone to do about your identity? I asked Harvey’s insight because we all know Pookas understand people very well. Given his well known skills, unless you want to tell us more why wouldn’t I accept Harvey’s opinion?
BTW, Harvey also tells me you are not an ex Jock but that you are divorced, a male, about 47 years old. He also says you were born into a Christian family but really do not take any reliigon seriously, are going bald, and have a scar on your left leg. Any details you want to add are fine by me.
I can not speak for Lee, but the only reason I care about whether you are or are not gay is your obsession with the idea the liberals care about the issue. Frankly, I do not even know whether Craig is gay. Maybe he is just a hypocrite.
This whole thing mystifies me. Why are the republicans so obsessed with others’ sex lives? For all I know GWB wears leather and latex to bed. I wouldn’t care anymore than I cared where Bill put his willy. Why do you guys care?
Why not come out of the cave/closet? If Harvey’s ideas are wrong (and he is almost always right) the it would do you good to say more about yourself. How could it hurt?

From the LA Times: “The number of Americans without health insurance rose last year from 44.8 million, or 15.3% of the population, to 47 million, or 15.8%, the Census Bureau reported today.”
But when you turn to page 29 of the US Census report it states them as not citizens. There are 10 Million per this report. http://www.census.gov/prod/200 7pubs/p60-233.pdf
So the number is down to 37 Million.

Why shouldn’t the people paying their salary have the right to see what their employees are doing with government property. Government works for the people.

You can’t count illegals because they are here illegally.
Then they choose to forgo that opportunity by their own volition. How do you include someone as uninsured when they choose to not insure themselves?
Because they’re uninsured. And if they happen to get a long-term illness, they’re still completely fucked.
I would agree if they created a category of “not insured by choice”. Uninsured infers they want it but can’t afford it or it’s not offered at their job.
Not necessarily. Uninsured means not insured, regardless of the reason. This is something unique to the United States among first world countries. In other places, people don’t have to make basic risk-cost decisions when it comes to their health care. Someone deciding not to have health care is at risk and we should be alarmed at the number of people who have to gamble with their lives like that.
You can’t count illegals because they are here illegally.
I’m not sure if the 47 million figure counts those here illegally. I’d have to look that up.

Why didn’t you post your response where you were being punked. Why run off and post your “demolishing” post somewhere it wouldn’t be seen.

@171 Do you have a breakdown on the people not insured? For example, how many are illegals, how many are young enough not to need it (yet), how many would rather have a new car, how many can’t afford it, etc.?
As I said before, I don’t care about the breakdown. Uninsured is uninsured. It means not having insurance. It means that if you get a life-long illness (which can happen to anyone at any age), you are completely fucked financially. This is a situation that does not exist in any other first world country. I do not agree that when a 22 year old kid buys a car instead of health insurance, then gets cancer, that the correct response is to say “too bad, you gambled and lost.” That’s pathetic, and this country should be better than that.

I am not a party line voter. I have voted for Republicans when I felt they were the better choice.

Another democrat scandal-
Hamann, a respected prosecutor appointed by Gov.
He refused to be interviewed by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, but submitted a statement saying, “I regret any appearance of impropriety that was created.”

Dopp denied wrongdoing but refused to be interviewed by the attorney general (not labeled as a democrat strangely enough). Sounds like he is a scared little rabbit.

Lee spews:

“U.S. airline industry could post record profit this year

Assie Voice: Getting back to the “47 Million {Americans)” who are without health insurance, why do you Moonbat!s add the Americans to the end when the US Census calls them people?
From the LA Times: “The number of Americans without health insurance rose last year from 44.8 million, or 15.3% of the population, to 47 million, or 15.8%, the Census Bureau reported today.”
http://www.latimes.com/news/na tionworld/nation/la-na-census2 9aug29,1,7116144.story?track=c rosspromo&coll=la-headlines-na tion&ctrack=2&cset=true
But when you turn to page 29 of the US Census report it states them as not citizens. There are 10 Million per this report. http://www.census.gov/prod/200 7pubs/p60-233.pdf
So the number is down to 37 Million.
Now if you continue to read the census report 17.7 million earn more than $50,000 a year and can “afford” health insurance. So now were down to 20 million.
Now I posted my reference from July 27th which referenced 13.2 million with Kaiser Family Foundation. I will increase my number to 20 Million. Less than half of the MSM and Moonbat! number of 47 Million!!!!!

Not really. The instance of me talking about the other side of my mouth exists only between your ears.
I keep repeating that the democrats are enjoying the larry craig outing is because he’s a gay publican, you insist it’s nothing about being gay and only because he’s a hypocrite.
Exactly.
You and seattlejew have both said I haven’t lashed out at gays, so if you’re right and I’m gay, why are you outing me if not for your own pleasure.
We didn’t out you. You outed yourself. Only a closeted gay could think that Craig’s behavior is normal enough that they would think that his outing was only because he was a Republican.
So, do you have any gay friends?
Sure, quite a few.
Are you like john edwards and feel uncomfortable around gays?
Not at all. That’s why I don’t support him. Was the other side of my mouth saying I do? That bastard!

The son of Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels pleaded guilty Thursday in a Seattle court to Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Funds from a Tribal Gaming Establishment.
Jacob Nickels, 26, is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 14. Nickels could receive up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervision.

Would you rather be in the Tacoma Washington corrections system or a mormon youth camp?
They’re meant to help felons get back on their feet, but a pair of work release centers in Tacoma are running into trouble.
Prison Rape Elimination Act documents reveal an inappropriate physical relationship between a staff member and a resident named Ryan Black.
When confronted with the evidence investigators collected, such as a urinalysis positive for marijuana use, the worker quit her job.
“My private life is my private life,” the worker said.
The woman, who was fired and now works outside of state government, said she knows of other instances of inappropriate relationships.
“It’s common. We’re human. It’s human nature,” the woman said.
http://www.nwcn.com/statenews/.....201ef.html
Of course the fired worker knows of other instances, like she said it’s human nature. Taxpayer funded employees, gotta love it. Well, unless your a criminal then you’re screwed, literally.
Marvin Stamn spews:
Most workers know the boss can track their computer use: Send too many personal e-mails, visit too many Web sites unrelated to work, and it could spell trouble.
State workers get the same warning. But unlike workers at private companies, their business, by law, is open to public scrutiny. So what happens when a state worker uses his office computer to send e-mails about things like dating habits, weekend plans or family turmoil?
Do taxpayers have a right to see those messages?

Why shouldn’t the people paying their salary have the right to see what their employees are doing with government property. Government works for the people.

Lee@162: Then they choose to forgo that opportunity by their own volition. How do you include someone as uninsured when they choose to not insure themselves? I would agree if they created a category of “not insured by choice”. Uninsured infers they want it but can’t afford it or it’s not offered at their job.
You can’t count illegals because they are here illegally.
Lee spews:

Not necessarily. Uninsured means not insured, regardless of the reason.
Do you have a breakdown on the people not insured? For example, how many are illegals, how many are young enough not to need it (yet), how many would rather have a new car, how many can’t afford it, etc.?
Lee spews:
Why didn’t you post your response where you were being punked. Why run off and post your “demolishing” post somewhere it wouldn’t be seen.
Actually, a lot of people in the local media read Effin’ Unsound, and Darryl also ripped on him here at HorsesAss, linking to my post. I know Eric saw it because his first reply was to something I wrote at Effin’ Unsound. He just chose not to reply.
So, you got that link of where thehim was getting his butt kicked at Sound Politics on the Plame case? Still waiting!
Lee spews:
@171
Do you have a breakdown on the people not insured? For example, how many are illegals, how many are young enough not to need it (yet), how many would rather have a new car, how many can’t afford it, etc.?
As I said before, I don’t care about the breakdown. Uninsured is uninsured. It means not having insurance. It means that if you get a life-long illness (which can happen to anyone at any age), you are completely fucked financially. This is a situation that does not exist in any other first world country. I do not agree that when a 22 year old kid buys a car instead of health insurance, then gets cancer, that the correct response is to say “too bad, you gambled and lost.” That’s pathetic, and this country should be better than that.
