U2: Maggie’s Farm
(Live version of Roy Zimmerman’s “Unions are to blame.”)
Paul Robeson: Joe Hill
Rush: Working Man
Pete Seeger Which Side Are You On
Natalie Merchant: Which side are you on
Dropkick Murphys: Workers Song

And now, a message from the President:
Mark Adams spews:
Look for the Union Label!
(And actually buy it! And you probably won’t find anything with a Union Label at WALMART.)
Ima Dunce spews:
My father was a Teamster. We had a good life. I’m grateful.
Politically Incorrect spews:
I never was a union member, worked for what I have, and I’m grateful for capitalism for what I have achieved.

I’m not in a union. Both my parents were. One a US Postal worker and the other worked in a factory on an assembly line building electrical power strips. Aside from them being extremely frugal financially, being in the unions helped get them, me and my brother and sister where we are today. My father retired from the US Post Office when he was 58. I’d like to see any Walmart worker do that.
But I work in an industry that was predominately unionized (Construction) and I can probably credit unions with the amount of compensation I get today as a non-Unionized worker.

U.S. Postal Service Reports Fiscal Year 2016 Second Quarter Results
Net loss for the quarter was $2.0 billion compared to $1.5 billion for the same period last year. The change in net loss was most significantly impacted by a $547 million unfavorable change in the workers’ compensation expense as a result of interest rate changes – a factor outside of management’s control.

Wal-Mart workers don’t get a dime from my pocket unless I buy something there.
I’d tell your fucking parents to pay me back, but the USPS would just lose the check in the mail.
Teabaggers Again spews:
@6 and yeah, goggle Congress making the Postal Service fund upfront their medical or something upfront for 20 years or something like that. That is making them go bankrupt. I’ll goggle it for you.
And today’s technology of nobody mailing mail probably has something to do with it. But yes Boob, you never know not to exploit some stupid statistic without every seeing the real reason for the issue.

Ima Dunce spews:
I don’t recall in my entire life anything ever lost in the mail. To some, fellow humans are nothing but farm animals to be worked to death or die in their wars.
Teabaggers Again spews:
@6 do you have a mailbox? Get rid of it if you don’t like it.
Too cheap to buy a stamp?
Teabaggers Again spews:
Not sure why Boob thinks his Profession is so honorable and worthy of being paid what he gets paid. Especially when he spends all day posting here and not working.

Teabagger Clavin.
Really, that would surprise no one.

My father is also a US Veteran. I guess this is the way Boob likes to treat American Veterans.

Not sure if this could be called a press conference, but #CrookedHillary took questions on her plane today. It is, apparently, a new plane. $143M buys a lotta stuff.
Start to finish, these are what her traveling minions asked her:
“What do you think (of the plane)?”
“How does it feel compared to 2008?”
“Is it great to have all of us with you?”
“Have you missed us?”
“How was your Labor Day weekend?”
“Are you ready?”
“Do you have a Labor Day message?”

Yesterday Bernie Sanders told Chuck Todd that the 15% threshold was “probably too high”, in reference to Gary Johnson’s current poll status.
Johnson received a newspaper endorsement:
Richmond Times-Dispatch endorses Gary Johnson for president
We are confident that, if given the opportunity to make his case, Gary Johnson will persuade millions of Americans that he is the most capable and ethical candidate running this year. We endorse him and look forward to a rejuvenating surprise in November — a new birth of freedom.
http://www.richmond.com/opinio.....9c433.html
Although this would certainly seem more important if this paper had endorsed a Democrat for president at some point in the last 36 years.
A few more of these and some other precedents may fall.

@6 howled:
“Wal-Mart workers don’t get a dime from my pocket unless I buy something there.”
1. Neither do Postal workers. The Postal Service is financially self-supporting and doesn’t actually get any money from the government.
2. UPS and Fedex depend on the Postal Service for “last mile” delivery to places that are not economically viable to service. If you’re sending a package to someplace that’s not near a major city, UPS or Fedex flies it to the nearest major airport and basically drops it in the mail to get it to its final destination.
3. The Constitution provides for a Postal service.
4. Taxpayers heavily, heavily subsidise Wal-Mart’s poverty wages in the form of Medicaid, food stamps, housing subsidies, etc. After all, when you pay starvation wages, someone’s got to pick up the slack somewhere or you have… starvation.
5. You’re a radiologist? Your days are numbered. Increasingly, hospitals are sending scans to doctors in India to be read, and you’ll likely be replaced by a computer in the near future. So, I ask you, how are you going to pay your student loans then?
Teabaggers Again spews:
@26 beautiful reply.

@8
Thankfully the USPS is still mostly people powered. I once sent a postcard to someone who’s address I didn’t have on me. Knowing they lived in the kind of town that probably had the same carrier on the route for decades I sent it:
(Name)
Last block 5th Ave before cemetery gate green with white trim brick porch
(City state zip)
No problem with delivery. UPS ad FedEx couldn’t do that at 100x the price.
Mark Adams spews:
@6 I’m sure you have provided services to postal workers and Walmart workers, bet you make more off the postal workers insurance compared to a whole lotta nothing from the Walmart employees insurance or from their pocket, and if they cannot pay then the creditor letter goes out, gets turned to a collection agency, ect. Yet the Postal Worker Insurance paid you with minimal fuss. So you will take their money, you will benefit from a benefit unions fought for, but you infer you never use the mails. You also miss the point that the US mail service is not there for your benefit. It’s a necessary service the government needs so it can send you a tax bill, give you jury duty, call you up or your loved one for military service. Everyone on here may see a return to how things were in 1850 and see government having to pay for the postal service. And gee we could return to a time when none of us will like the mail man to appear as the receiver will have to pay the postage. Yep I can see Congress making a draftee paying the postage to read a letter welcoming them to service in the United States military. Oh and you do receive mail, maybe like mail with checks in them.
So buy a shirt with a Union Label and show a little love toward your postal carrier. And don’t you dare cheer for any of them ro football players as they are Union.
Dick Hertz spews:
And the USPS hires lots and lots of ex-military, including many with less than fully honourable discharges (G/UHC, OTH, ELS, etc.)

Pretty Cool for her to show her support. Ballsy. Not afraid like Boob would be to stand up for something.
Soccer Star Kneels During National Anthem To Support Colin Kaepernick http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....f?section=
And doing so doesn’t even involve taxes or any of Boob’s contribution of his hard earned money. And it is Freedom, regardless if you disagree that it is. That’s the mystery of it all.
And last but not least, now that the NFL is benefiting by the sale of his Jersey’s you have to wonder if they’ll ever do anything but collect the cash. How about they donate some of the profits to police causes?
