– Jesus is Not a Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Card
– But, I thought Ed Murray was just concerned with ethics.
– I just can’t with the McKinney story.
– Wells Fargo’s corporate practices don’t make up for an ad, but that ad is pretty sweet, and if that’s your idea of moral decay, you’re the worst.
– New Hampshire’s legislature is pretty ridiculous, but at least Obama managed to salvage some sort of civics lesson.
– With the Women’s World Cup, the whole country can have the same uncomfortable feeling Reign fans (myself included) have about cheering Hope Solo.
Republicans call Jimmy Carter “weak” because he never killed anyone. That offends Republicans because they love to kill.

“I know, I said no more puns.”
Yeah, I get it. It’ll probably fly over Puddy’s pointy cranium, though.
McKinney’s racism is now blowing up on the good folks of McKinney and their police force. The kids had pool passes, but some white person call the cops because, you know, skin color. When the cops arrived, they arrested some kids for trying to leave, and arrested others for staying. But only the minority kids because, you know, skin color. A white cop swore at, manhandled, and pulled a gun on black children. Even the white witnesses are saying it was about race. McKinney now looks like a nasty little whites-only enclave in the heart of Texas. There will, of course, be civil rights lawsuits, and probably also a DOJ investigation of the police department.
Meanwhile, a former McKinney cop says the McKinney PD has a “race problem.”
http://thinkprogress.org/justi.....e-problem/
According to Wikipedia, McKinney PD has 188 officers, about 3 1/2 times the size of Ferguson’s police department. I couldn’t determine from an internet search how many, if any, are non-white. It’s clear, though, the incident is prompting serious blowback. The cop who pulled the gun on the kids has been suspended, the chief is doing damage control, and the minority community is organizing a protest at city hall for this evening.
So Billy Graham’s son wants me to boycott Wells Fargo because God told him to hate gays? Nah. I own nearly 40 different stocks, and guess which one is my #1 holding? Yep, Wells Fargo. (Johnson & Johnson is #2 and Procter & Gamble is #3) I mean, bankers are crooks, true enough, but as a capitalist I go where the money is.
Good on the New Hampshire kids who named the White House’s newest resident “Lincoln.” What an apt “up yours” to those NH Republican legislators who get their jollies by bitchslapping schoolkids.
It’s partly because of antics like this that a growing number of Americans are fed up with the clown show constituting the contemporary Republican Party.

(A hat tip to Puddy for providing this link in a previous thread. Thanks, Puddy! After all these years, you’re finally useful for something.)
Carl, you misspelled “Hopin’.” It has two p’s.
Republicans call Jimmy Carter “weak” because he never killed anyone.
Once again the early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit has memory issues… Puddy to the rescue… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Eagle_Claw
And how many died again? Killed on Carter’s original orders eh?
It really sux when your memory fails you so much early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit!

Of course the early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit in never very punny! Just a joke of his old self!
Meanwhile just another day in Detroit. http://www.clickondetroit.com/...../33293902#
Puddy received this by click from cousins who knew this dude very well.
Sadly just another day in Deeeeetroit!
@8, wrong on the facts again. Jimmy Carter was trying to save lives with the rescue mission in Iran. Yes, people died when the aircraft failed, but that was an accident. Jimmy Carter ordered nobody to be killed during his 4 years.
RD Pence @14,
The early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit did not write “ORDERED killed”.
Simple English seems to escape DUMMOCRETIN libtards!
@10 “#OccupyIdiotWabbit”
Really sucks to see a progressive raking in a piece of the Wall Street loot, doesn’t it? What else can I do? Stock flippers and landlords are the only people making money in this economy. Working for wages doesn’t pay anything anymore.

Triangulation with Sidney Blumenthal (hero of the early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit) again eh NY Slimes?
@11 It’s called biting the hand that feeds you. Even dogs know better.
@12 Puddy doesn’t get it, just as I predicted.
@13 Detroit is the poster child for what unrestrained capitalism eventually does to all cities.
@14 You’re trying to educate a moron who doesn’t know the difference between being stumbled over or kicked, as Oliver Wendell Holmes would put it. Even dogs know better.
Detroit is the poster child for what unrestrained DUMMOCRETIN rule does to a city!
@15 Squid ink. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qmBx6Kn9mU
@17 What’s amazing is how badly Republicans are itching to drag us into a new war* even before our president has finished cleaning up their last two foreign policy/military clusterfucks.
* The same bunch who loudly protested against any intervention when Assad used poison gas against his own people.
@18 I’m glad you mentioned Sidney Blumenthal. Every American ought to read what this noted historian wrote about how the 9/11/01 disaster came about (i.e., thanks to the criminal negligence of our country’s last GOP regime), and if you haven’t seen this excerpt before I strongly encourage you to read it now:
“Bush’s approach in most situations seemed a reactive combination of calculations to avoid his father’s mistakes and to reject Clinton’s policies. This was especially clear in international affairs: in his first nine months he reversed Clinton’s policy toward China, proclaiming it no longer a ‘strategic partner’ but a ‘strategic competitor’; in the Middle East, by withdrawing U.S. involvement in the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians; toward Korea, by abandoning the negotiated accord that had frozen the North’s nuclear program and by humiliating President Kim of South Korea, who was promoting North-South reconciliation, during his March 2001 visit to the White House, contributing to a wave of anti-Americanism in a country that was among the staunchest American allies; by withdrawing U.S. support from the Kyoto treaty on global warming; and by forsaking Clinton’s efforts to address the dangers of international terrorism.
“During the transition between administrations, National Security Adviser Sandy Berger arranged several extensive briefings on this last subject for Bush’s incoming national security adviser, Condoleeza Rice, and others on the Bush team, including Vice President Cheney. One briefing lasted half a day. Berger told them that Osama bin Laden was an ‘existential threat’ and told them that he wanted ‘to underscore how important this issue is.’ In another briefing, Richard Clarke, head of counterterrorism in the NSC, the single most knowledgeable expert in the government, gave them a complete tutorial on the subject. In yet another briefing, CIA officials were brought in to go over all the intelligence available on terrorism.
“Don Kerrick, a three-star general and outgoing deputy national security adviser, overlapped for four months with the new Bush people. He submitted a memo for the new National Security Council warning of the danger of terrorism. ‘We are going to be struck again,’ he wrote. But as Kerrick explained to me, he received no answer to his memo. ‘They didn’t respond,’ he said. ‘They never responded. It was not high on their priority list. I was never invited to one meeting. They never asked me to do anything. They were not focusing. They didn’t see terrorism as the big megaissue that the Clinton administration saw it as. They were concentrated on what they thought were higher priorities than terrorism.’ The Principals meeting of national security officials took up terrorism only once, after constant pressure from Clarke, on September 4, 2001, and at that meeting they discussed using unmanned Predator drone spy aircraft, but no decision was made. ‘Unfortunately,’ said Kerrick, ‘September 11 gave them something to focus on.’”
— Sidney Blumenthal, The Clinton Wars (New York: Farrar, Strauss, and Giroux, 2003), pp. 797-798.
Of course the early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit would use Oliver Wendell Holmes and his progressive stances on issues!
@23 Somebody’s chainsaw needs oiling. Or maybe it’s a car that needs a brake job. Or a raven getting buttfucked. It’s making a godawful screeching, whatever it is.
@27 Nah, just a convenient way of pointing out that you’re too stupid to know the difference between “accident” and “attack,” which have nothing in common except both words start with the letter “a.”
Oh so when those incidents happened on Reagan’s watch they were accidents!

From the third link! Here is Patterson’s chilling account:
Berger ambled down the stairwell and entered the Sit[uation] Room. He picked up the phone at one of the busy controller consoles and called the president. Amazingly, President Clinton was not available. Berger tried again and again. Bin Laden was within striking distance. The window of opportunity was closing fast. The plan of attack was set and the Tomahawk [missile] crews were ready. For about an hour Berger couldn’t get the commander in chief on the line. Though the president was always accompanied by military aides and the Secret Service, he was somehow unavailable. Berger stalked the Sit Room, anxious and impatient.
Patterson continues:
Finally, the president accepted Berger’s call. There was discussion, there were pauses – and no decision. The president wanted to talk with his secretaries of Defense and State. He wanted to study the issue further. Berger was forced to wait. The clock was ticking. The president eventually called back. He was still indecisive. He wanted more discussion. Berger alternated between phone calls and watching the clock.
The dithering continued until it was too late–and bin Laden lived to fight another day. And to plot the Sept. 11 attacks.
From Dereliction of Duty, Air Force Lt. Col. Robert “Buzz” Patterson, a presidential aide and carrier of the “nuclear football!”
Of course the paid Clinton Rasputin Sidney Blumenthal (hero of the early onset senile schismatic IDIOT Wabbit) has to make it seem Clinton is pristine and clean here! WRONG! and history bears it out!
Of course the senile one forgot this too… http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/09/.....bin.laden/

It’s difficult to understand why the mayor would make such a petty and ill advised move against Sawant unless he’s making it personal. Now that she’s moving on rent control, his pals are getting nervous.
Detroit is the poster child for what unrestrained government corruption can do.
@36 No, Detroit is the poster boy for corporate greed and it’s trade agreements, sending jobs out of the country, and destroying the middle class by busting unions. But some people see only what they want to see.
Another reason why Rick Perry shouldn’t be president.
http://www.cnbc.com/id/102717684
Plain and simple, Perry has badly mismanaged his state, and that’s not the kind of leadership America needs at a time when millions of Americans are still digging out from the GOP-created Great Recession.
Airline travel is going to get even more uncomfortable.
“Boeing (NYSE:BA) recently announced it was looking to increase the seating capacity of its 777 300ER commercial aircraft by reducing the size of the lavatories, saying it could add up to 14 extra seats in the aircraft and give airlines room to improve their unit passenger margins.
“Boeing also is trying to improve the fuel consumption by reducing the weight of its 777 series aircraft, successfully managing to slice off 1,200 lbs.; with the reduced weight, the company believes it will be able to save airlines 5% in fuel cost.
“777 General Manager Elizabeth Lund says she is confident of the current changes, and says the aircraft is receiving positive responses.”
http://seekingalpha.com/news/2.....email_link
Roger Rabbit Commentary: Yeah, well, they could save even more weight and squeeze the seats even closer together by sawing off passengers’ arms and legs at the boarding gate. I suppose that’s next.
(Full Disclosure: Roger Rabbit owns Boeing stock, and even though he doesn’t approve of this, he’ll make money from it.)
@22, yes, and I know better than to feed the trolls, especially those that live in their mother’s basement and manufacture stuff like that, in such a juvenile tone and manner.
@34 And you’re forgetting this:

Who was it again that hunted down and killed that monster? OH-BAH-MAAA!!!
@32 Instead of plagiarizing insults from me, why not write your own? Are you too stupid, too lazy, or both?
How bad is the racism in McKinney, Texas? Very bad, and very entrenched.

Now, one more question: Where is Puddy’s outrage? After all, Puddy is black, and these are his people. Or are they?
“@8, wrong on the facts again.”
That’s because he’s afflicted with 24/7 batshit insanity. It peaks Saturday night through Sunday, occasionally coinciding with a full moon.
The only thing Satanis behind is their sad state of mind. How pathetic must your life be if you can’t concentrate on your own life but have to bud into the lives of others.

@50 Listening to authority is not what 14-year-olds customarily do, but I wouldn’t expect you to know this if you’ve never raised one of your own.
@52 It could have been worse. At least he didn’t chew out Scalia for saying in a commencement speech to high school kids that the human species is only 5,000 old. He probably restrained himself out of respect for the institution, because the man certainly doesn’t deserve any respect. By the way, how ethical is it to go duck hunting with a man whose case you’re about to decide?
Corinthian Colleges is now the poster boy for privatized education:
“The federal government will erase much of the debt of students who attended the now-defunct Corinthian Colleges, officials announced Monday, as part of a new plan that could cost taxpayers as much as $3.6 billion. Corinthian Colleges was one of the largest for-profit schools when it nearly collapsed last year and became a symbol of fraud in the world of higher education and student loans.”
