Good news for once: John Fox gets a nod

I don’t want to top Goldy’s tasty diatribe below, a must read, so just quickly will point to Danny Westneat’s column about John Fox today in The Times. And don’t forget the Seattle Displacement Coalition’s big fundraiser tomorrow night, 7 p.m. in University Temple United Methodist Church.

well, well–the libs shriek about Saudi ties to republicans; seems the Saudis gave $10 million to the Clinton Library (WA Post).clinton must be in bed with the Saudis…(well, isn’t that the liberal line???)

@ 1 Libs R us says. What is it with the right wing trolls? Can’t let a thread go by without adding a comment that has absolutely no relevance.

I am not sure how to take Westneat’s column here…. It has the ring of faint praise to it somehow but I can’t quite put my finger on why. Does anyone else read this as a bit condescending towards Fox and the entire generation of the ’60’s?

Nindid-I agree. I wonder why Fox participated in this article. What business is it of Westneat, or Seattle Times readers, that Fox came into a little money or where he got the money to buy his home. I know casually and admire Fox. I was in the audience a few years ago when the ACLU gave him an award. And I’m not the slightest bit interested in this story.

@3 & 4: Danny’s article obliquely addressed a true choice we as a society face: Where for art thou, oh Common Good?

By bringing it down to a personal level, we see the overarching GOP crackup that is to come. This is the level of ‘everyman’ asking ‘what’s in it for me?’ It addresses the constant ‘self made man’ whine re ‘I got mine, screw you’ attitude that St. Ronnie made the centerpiece of domestic policy that even Clinton, in his political cowardice, bowed to.

Perhaps we can truly have a conversation on this question and derail the GOP hijacking of this issue. I, for one, applaud the article.

Hear, hear. Why do republicans have to repeat everyday normal activities. It’s like “dog bites man”.. enough already!!!

You surely won’t find it on a liberals tax return. Most of them don’t pay taxes and the one who do don’t give to charity. Just ask Algore. heehhehe

“Why do republicans have to repeat everyday normal activities?(sic)”

They are the only activities republicans can perform successfully (fetching the paper, sitting, ‘roll over’, begging, etc.). Even then, they need assistance.

What do you expect from a dog, anyway? GOP ‘tough love’?

Idiot dog: “Most of them (liberals) don’t pay taxes..”

Reply: Most of them (conservatives) loot the public treasury, because stealing is what they do.

Conservatives also lie. It’s second nature. How else can you convince the herd of the necessity for an aristocracy?

O’Reilly’s sexual harassment lawsuit sung like Handel’s Messiah

Ah that old ploy. Liberal always get some dumb bimbo to make false accuasations against people they disagree with. Of course what do you expect from a bunch of commies. hehehehe

@6 We definitely need more “man bites dog” news stories around here. I want to see that fucking cur running down the street with his tail tucked between his legs and yelping like a Gitmo detainee! That’s the next best thing to seeing dogs get run over by cars.

Let’s hope Huckabee Junior only strings up Republican dogs, though. I’d hate to lose a good dog.
