Wow; they started building before they even owned the property. Now that’s judgment.

Why do politicians always lean into the camera to get their pictures taken?

  2. 3

“Why do politicians always lean into the camera to get their pictures taken?”

Because their photographers and handlers tell them to.

On the other hand, this is America, where every citizen is a politician, by design. So that’s a difference without a distinction.

    Roger Rabbit spews:

Democrats must continue working to blow up the GOP-concocted myth that Palin is a “reformer.” She is the nation’s greediest governor in terms of seeking earmarks for her state. She not only supported the “bridge to nowhere” before opposing it, but kept the federal money after jumping aboard the opposition train (which she did only because the bridge was already dead). When she was mayor, Wasilli was one of only 8 of Alaska’s 149 incorporated municipalities that employed a Washington, D.C. lobbyist. As mayor, she not only raked in record amounts of federal largesse, but also ran the town (previously debt free) deep into deep. Reformer, your ass — this woman is a phony.

“Palin’s earmark requests: more per person than any other state

“GOP vice presidential candidate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin touts her record as a reformer who worked to end the ‘abuses of earmark spending in Congress.’ But Palin has embraced earmarks from early on in her career as a mayor of Wasilla to the governor’s mansion in Juneau. Just this year she sent to Sen. Ted. Stevens a proposal for 31 earmarks totaling $197 million — more, per person, than any other state.

“By Hal Bernton and David Heath
    “Seattle Times staff reporters

“ANCHORAGE — As she introduced herself to the nation Friday as the Republican vice-presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin touted her record as a reformer who worked to end the ‘abuses of earmark spending in Congress.’ But … Palin embraced [earmarks] from early on in her career as a mayor of Wasilla to the governor’s mansion in Juneau. Just this year, she sent to Sen. Ted. Stevens, R-Alaska, a proposal for 31 earmarks totaling $197 million — more, per person, than any other state. …

“Palin’s requests to Congress came at a time of huge federal deficits, while Alaska state revenue was soaring due to rising oil prices and a major tax increase on oil production that Palin signed into law in late 2007. … ‘She was hungry for earmarks just like everybody else,’ said Larry Persily, who worked at the Alaska state office in Washington, D.C., until earlier this year. …

“Before she left [the mayor’s] office, Wasilla … got $27 million in earmarks …. During her fall 2006 campaign for governor, Palin … said she would fight for the earmark to build the bridge. … A year later, as criticism of earmarks mounted, Palin began to speak out against earmarks … [but] took the federal money to fund Alaska earmarks ….

“Palin’s earmarks request came just days after President Bush promised in his State of the Union address to veto any spending bills from Congress unless lawmakers cut earmarks in half. … [D]ocuments Palin’s office released to The Seattle Times on Tuesday show her cuts in earmarks were far more modest than she claimed … only 22 percent, not the 63 percent she claimed.”

    Roger Rabbit spews:

    “The Palin record on earmarks

    “By Jay Bookman
    “The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

“Here’s a pretty comprehensive rundown of Palin’s documented record on requesting earmarks. In her second term as Wasilla mayor, she got a total of $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of fewer than 9,000 people.

“As governor, she requested $254 million in earmarks last year, and $197 million in earmarks this year. As the Seattle Times story notes, that’s more per capita than requested by any other state in the union ….

“This, from the candidate who said Wednesday night that she ‘championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress.’ My friends, that is not reform we can believe in.”

    (Quoted under fair use.)

Roger Rabbit Commentary: Nope. That’s just another lying Republican.

    rhp6034 spews:

Liberals are just upset that they can’t muster up any good looking chicks. They get Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton. bleeeech.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had sex with a feminist….. I didn’t think so. Feminism only exists so ugly girls can get some attention.

McSame just went on and on last night about earmarks (rather stupidly).

  10. 13

    Mr. Cynical spews:

    I TOLD YOU SO!!!
The Dems much ado about nothing lawsuit over whether Rossi could use GOP was easily tossed out yesterday with these reasons cited in the Seattle Times:

“Much of Friday’s hearing was spent discussing the administrative hassle that would come with reprinting ballots. But Judge Richard Eadie said it came down to two state statutes: one that says candidates can list their own party affiliations, and one that says the affiliations should be listed the same way on both primary- and general-election ballots.

    Again, I told you so.

This was merely a desperate attempt by Gregoire to change the subject away from her $8 BILLION of increased spending, the $3.2 BILLION Deficit she created and to cast a legal cloud over Rossi.
    Didn’t work.
The Dems should pay for all the lost time and costs associated with this frivilous lawsuit!

re 9: I’ve seen her clenching her teeth and jutting her jaw. All she needs is a few rollers in her hair, a red, chennille bathrobe, and a rolling pin in one hand in order to complete the enemble.

Is that sexist? I’d ask her to make me a sandwich and shut the fuck up. Doesn’t anyone care about the rules anymore?

She’s clearly crossed the line and deserves a zero for the frame. This is a league game!

  12. 15

    Mark1 spews:

Democrats invented welfare, even on a poster. Sorry you hypocrits. We probably could take care of the upcoming deficit if there weren’t so many welfare and gov’t cheese leeches in this state. Get a job already and get out of the trailer park. That includes you too YLB.

  13. 21

    The Real Puddybud spews:

“CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin spoke about Obama’s frequent practice of saying that “McCain is right,” with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews dubbing it an “amen chorus.””

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Pelosi: ‘We don’t have the votes’ to pass bailout without GOP’

So rhp6033: You all have the house and senate. Why can’t your “leaders” lead?

    What a horsesASS you are!

  15. 23

    Ekim spews:

    Puddy goat fucker @19,

That is because the press is busy watching the Palin train wreck. You must have not watched the Sarah interviews. Ouch. I feel your pain. Good thing she is good looking. Otherwise she wouldn’t have much going for yah.

  16. 24

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Ekim@20, still drinking Steve’s Stupid Solution? Are you his next distributor?

I don’t post human-animal sex on this blog. Steve does, and I see it’s for your benefit.

Waaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa

  17. 25

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Ekim@23: Where did I say I am voting for McCain/Palin? Please fess up the link.

Since even yelling loser boy, HAs clueless irrational idiot, knows I’m not a McCain supporter, what cave have you been living in for the last year? You need to stop dragging your knuckles around here!

    Stupid stupid stupid!

  18. 26

Why is that funny? Biden has some liabilities that could hurt him, but the media is ignoring it because no one cares about Afghanistan or the drug war. That’s good for Obama. And thankfully, the Republicans picked a VP candidate who’s far too stupid to possibly exploit these weaknesses during a debate.

    Now THAT’S funny.

  19. 27

    Ekim spews:

    Puddy goat fucker @25,

Never said who you were voting for. As at guess I’d say you were voting for the Goat Fuckers Alliance candidate. Not sure who that is though…

  20. 28

    Ekim spews:

    Puddy goat fucker @24,

So which blogs do you post the human-animal sex stuff on? And what handles do you use there? Don’t get me wrong. While I’m not into that stuff myself, I won’t hold it against you.

Oh, never mind, those real Repugnant moral codes will never allow you to come out of the closet and fess up.

  21. 29

    Steve spews:

    @24 “human-animal sex”

Actually, I post links to news reports of Republicans having sex with animals. I also post links to news stories about other forms Republican moral depravity – such as lewd behavior and pedophila. These are not reports concerning low-life trolls. These reports all involve Republicans in positions of (failed) leadership and trust(betrayed). The inference, of course, is that you, representing as you do the rank underbelly of the Republican party, are no doubt its most foul representative. As usual, you have no rebuttal what-so-fucking-ever except to plunge into the deepest possible state of denial, lies and name-calling. It is this very denial that reveals everything that anybody needs to know about you.

  22. 30

    Steve spews:

    @27 “Goat Fuckers Alliance”

LMFAO(at Pudnut’s expense). That just about made my day, Ekim.

  23. 31

    Steve spews:

    @24 “Waaaa”

    Whining becomes you.

    Neal Horsely fucks mules.

Bob Allen offered a black cop $20 if he could blow him.

    Puddy’s a goatfucker.

  24. 32

    Rujax! spews:

    Uhhhh…hey Ekim…

ya know, I think calling the puddybitch a goat fucker is an insult to goat fuckers…just sayin,.

  25. 33

Wow. I hate to break up all the fun everyone is having describing various sexual encounters with barnyard animals, but since this is the current open thread, I’ve got nowhere else to ask this.

I just received a robo-call claiming to be from “Deb Saxton, Washington State Democrats, Campaign to Change America”.

While the call itself was only mildly annoying, it occurred to me that there was a distinct possibility that the call didn’t actually come from our party, but might have simply been one more attempt by the Republicans to discourage Democrats and annoy independents in our name.

Certainly, few organizations can match our Washington State Democratic Party in finding ways to annoy Democrats, but a robo-call campaign seems like a bad enough idea that even our party leadership should be able to recognize it as a really stupid plan.

Together with the fact that the call hung up within a couple of seconds of the ending line “press one to volunteer”, my thought is that it’s probably another “Speaker’s Roundtable” stunt.

At least I hope so. Please, someone, tell me that we aren’t actively trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Of course, after seeing the latest batch of Governor Gregoire’s campaign ads, I have my doubts.

  26. 34

    The Real Puddybud spews:

    John Barelli:

These leftist horsesASSes have no cogent argument so they assume others enjoy their favorite pastimes.

Steve, proprietor of Steve’s Stupid Solution and Ekim, the Seattle Central District’s lead Stupid Solution distributor project their vile acts on others. Rudejax! has nothing better to do (other than playing with himself) and makes a fool of himself again.

And Steve, you did paste a human-animal URL on this blog because Pelletizer went there and commented on it while everyone else except Ekim ignored it.

Don’t ask me to find it cause it’s wasn’t committed to PuddyMemory and those sites are for sickos such as Steve and Ekim.

  27. 35

Mark1 @15- 2 WHOPPING percent of our budget in 2007 went to welfare.

    9% to defense
13.5% went to interest on debt
11.4% to general gov’t (who has the biggest fed. gov’t in U.S. history?! One guess….)

Before you blow steam out your ass, I’m sure that has to hurt by now,

Educate yourself. It’s your duty as a patriotic citizen of the U.S. A.

  28. 36

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Steve had this dribble from his butt: “As usual, you have no rebuttal what-so-fucking-ever”

Steve of Steve’s Stupid Solution – reread post#22. The last sentence is for your benefit.

  29. 37

    The Real Puddybud spews:

TroyJMorris said: “2 WHOPPING percent of our budget in 2007 went to welfare.”

    TroyJMorrismath – 2%

    PuddyMath – 9.25%

    Take out the guesstimated transfers:

    TroyJMorrismath – 2%

    PuddyMath – 9.57%

  30. 38

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Even if you use FY07 October 2006-Sept 2007 numbers

    TroyJMorrismath – 2%

    PuddyMath – 9.31%

  31. 39

    The Real Puddybud spews:

Number of times Sen. McCain referred to Sen. Obama as “Barack”: zero

Number of times Sen. Obama referred to Sen. McCain as “John”: 23

  32. 40

    uptown spews:

Wow, how does a town of 5,000 have an annual budget of $20 million?
That’s $4,000 per person (not family).

Let me guess – Oil Taxes.

They tax oil, so we pay more.

  33. 41

    Steve spews:

    @36 “Waaaa”

Posting links to news stories culled from the hundreds of Republican pervs who’ve been busted obviously chaps your ass. Like I said, you have no rebuttal what-so-fucking-ever. The politicians you admire and desire to emulate are a bunch of pervs. It’s no stretch to assume that a low-life piece of shit such as yourself is the worst of the lot.

    Puddy fucks goats.
