How long did the summit last today?
While I do admit state ownership/private operations on the Palouse River and Coulee City has worked out well, but with the condition the network was in at buy-out, it could only go up. The Coulee City branch had hardly a mile that wasn’t under some sort of speed restriction, and a lot of it was FRA-exempt, the worst classification (10pm h would be speeding). Would I like to see it on the mainline as suggested? No, it would be never-ending improvements like I-5. Even the mainlines need a lot of work.
