Community Transit is late to the alternate propulsion race, but is testing both battery and hydrogen fuel cell buses. The latter might help with range anxiety, but CT needs a garage in Northern Snohomish County, or better have a charger at Park and Ride/Transit Centers. Their current bases, I’m not sure, but it looks like they aren’t in the Community Transit District. I think they are both in Everett.

It’s always nice to see more disloyal Republicans getting arrested and scheduled for trial for trying to take away our democratic elections.
It’s really amazing to me how totally normal and routine this has become. No wonder Republicans are so frightened. But foolishly they all seem to believe there are no consequences for people like them. They should know better. America will be happy to teach them.

I feel like expanding on this a little.
The shock and disbelief of Republicans upon discovering that outrageous conduct entails dire consequences for “people like them” is what I think is fueling the growing popularity of attacking our civic institutions among older, conservative white people and many white males.
As I write this Republicans are everywhere in America struggling to disassemble or weaken almost every non-authoritarian part of our American civil-administrative state. Schools, colleges and universities, courts of law, regulatory agencies, health departments, public lands agencies, election administrations and local elected government are under steady attack. It’s now a full time hobby for huge numbers of Republicans to regularly attend and disrupt local government meetings. And these continue to be the people who Republicans nominate to represent them.
There seems to be a powerful reckoning going on where these people feel betrayed and turn against the United States as they see members of what they regard as their in-group facing consequences. Those consequences can be varied and arise from diverse circumstances, whether poor or risky financial decisions, criminal behavior, workplace misconduct, domestic abuse, or foolish health and lifestyle choices. But regardless of those circumstances they feel betrayed and use that feeling of betrayal to motivate their rejection of the societal institutions they hold responsible rather than their own poor choices and terrible ideas.
I think this is the basic idea that exists at the core of Trump’s support. His most ardent followers like the idiots who troll for him here each day embrace a kind of rapturous joy and faith in the conviction in his implied or explicit promises to destroy important institutions. That idea is what fuels all the wacky iconography depicting their morbidly obese rapist as an armored vanquishing hero on horseback riding in the vanguard surrounded by historical figures.
And I think this same idea is what makes these people feel empowered by Trump. He makes them feel dangerous. And with nothing else left, they’ll take that and run with it right to the bitter end.

The rules of cross allow the attorney to lead the witness. They allow for confrontation. Any impeachment argument that can be made by a witness during cross should be made by the witness during cross to establish foundation.
Juries don’t ignore closing arguments. But they do tend to discredit brand new arguments made during closing that aren’t in the record. Blanche missed two very key moments that might have helped his client. He may be a good defense attorney. But he’s not conducting his cross like a good defense attorney.

The invoice from RedFinch was for $50,000 for polling services. Even corrupt, lying, convicted criminals like Weisselberg demand documentation. Cohen collected $50k and short paid RedFinch, pocketing the $30k difference. Short payment is not uncommon experience for anyone doing work for The Trump Organization. As Todd Blanche can certainly confirm. And probably why he didn’t dig into the issue.

It’s important, and another indication of Blanche’s failures, that in establishing to the jury that Cohen is a liar who stole from one of his clients (after all he’s been to jail for some of these crimes which the jury knows well), the purpose of the stolen payment was for personal work having nothing to do with the law, that both confirms Cohen’s description of his role as Trump’s “fixer” but also directly contradicts a central element of the defense.
Trump and Blanche claim that Cohen was engaged to perform legal work and provide legal advice and that Trump was not aware of any of his machinations behind the scenes in order to manage the shit show of chaos that is Trump’s business and personal life. He’s doing all this creepy shit and running the payments through his firm to disguise the true nature of the expenses. He wants a retainer agreement with a set monthly fee. Trump and Weisselberg decline to give him that. They don’t want to formalize how they are using Cohen to pay for stuff that they don’t wan’t to appear in Trump Org financial statements. The RedFinch invoice and Cohen’s frustration over it is proof of that.
