    Not actually a bad thing.

    The trial in South Florida will probably get lots of delays. But that was kind of baked in. The discovery process was always going to be slow. And the Judge is a drunk.

    He begins his civil fraud trial in New York next month. Then in January the damages phase in E Jean Carroll law suit. After that he has two criminal trials commencing in March, one in NY and one in DC. Then in May (possibly) trial getting underway in South Florida. Trump’s life is going to be dominated by this stuff for the next twelve months. And so will all the media.

    Any single one of these legal cases would be a financial and personal catastrophe for most individuals, even incredibly wealthy individuals. This phalanx of peril is going to have some big consequences beyond just the jury verdicts. People around Trump are going burn out and walk away. And the entire Trump operation and identity is going to become focused on channeling funds to the lawyers.

    And keep in mind that, even now after all this has come into focus, Republicans are still bent on making this ambulatory disaster their nominee. It’s going to be a great big Republican train wreck.

    And I’m so here for that.

    It was NEVER his intention to protest. It was ALWAYS his intention to engage in violence.

It may be understandable that some of his closest loved ones are unable to face that. But it is the willful decision of others to view his behavior through a political lens where politics first enters into this.

    To paraphrase Carl von Clausewitz, the reason for our nation’s existence is to give life to the promise that violence shall not be the continuation of politics by other means. Everything Guy Reffit did that day was a repudiation of democracy and patriotism.

    Depends. If you need to close out a losing options position, then yes. However, if you are able (and willing) to purchase the shares at an unfavorable price, and then hold until the rebound, then you get to participate in the increase in share value. That increase may far exceed the premium originally paid to the investor – the “gambler” according to you and to Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit – if the rebound is large enough.

    I was compelled by options positions to purchase a shitload of shares at unfavorable prices when options came due 3/20/20. It was ugly.

    I chose to hold and ride it out. The DJIA bottomed out well below 19,000 in 2020. It’s now at 34,500 +/-.

    Not so much a gamble as an assumption that the market panic was silly. I had the ability to absorb the purchases without running into a margin call.

    I was wrong about where things would be in March, 2020. I’m very glad that I was. Very glad.
