Probably has something to do with the fact I knew how much I was paying for the shares.
That’s not the same as “accept[ing] money in exchange for willingness to purchase shares of Generac.” What you’re doing is selling an insurance policy to the owner of those shares, and you’re gambling that you won’t have to pay out on it.

Big banks and other companies buy up contracts to service student loans the same way they service mortgages. Except mortgage borrowers have greater protections and advocacy in Congress. Student borrowers are abandoned to the whims of their loan servicing companies who routinely lie to them, and defraud them. A “customer” who is granted loan forgiveness represents a loss of fees to them. Also all of these programs are strictly dollar and budget limited. There are very low limits on the loans amounts that can be forgiven, depending on the applicant and where they work.
Congress holds a hearing or two. Nobody shows up.
When forced to testify the banks say the programs are “too complicated” and “too confusing” and they “don’t want to be liable”.

It required a candidate to have more or less a full time job in a qualifying public service job and make 120 on time monthly payments towards their Federal Direct Loan Program debt to qualify for loan forgiveness..
The first 120 payment candidates became eligible for forgiveness in 2017, under the supervision of the De Vos Education Department. You can imagine what a clusterfuck that turned out to be. Only 7000 candidates had their debt forgiven during the drumpf misadministration.
Lawsuits resulted and since then Biden-Harris has forgiven 42 billion dollars of debt under PSLF..
