    For Airport transit, no need for a special premium service (higher fares) like UP Express, when it’s not just travelers using it. An airport, especially Pearson, is a big concentrated employment center. Sea-Tac has one of its shift changes around 2-4AM when most Sound Transit and Metro services are done for the night. The Night Owl, especially the old system, was very infrequent, and centered around Seattle except for two routes, 184 and 280.     Personally, I’m glad she was shot and killed. Sacrificed, if you will, as a warning to others. I’m similarly glad about the thugs getting several years behind bars, partly as a warning to others.

    However, I doubt Byrd was thinking that he was warning others by killing Babbitt. He could have used non-lethal force before resorting to lethal force. When a LEO kills someone who was unarmed, we spend so much time and effort and do so much hair-splitting in the investigation of what alternatives existed. That didn’t happen in Byrd’s case.

    If Ashli Babbitt was a black woman and was shot while storming the Third Precinct in The Durkan Kill Zone, y’all would be calling for the head of the cop who pulled the trigger.

    Immediacy of the threat – No greater or more immediate threat exists. A determined intruder, backed by a violent mob, wearing what appears to a reasonable officer to potentially be an explosive pack, is desperately forcing herself through a broken window to gain access to dozens of lawmakers trapped on the House balcony. Fuck. A nightmare.

    Actively resisting lawful efforts to arrest the threat – Dozens of witness accounts, video and audio recordings, etc. Bitch blew her way through a dozen police lines before she got to The Speaker’s Lobby doors and ignored at least a dozen orders from police manning the final barricade.

    Attempting to evade efforts to arrest by flight – She was not. She was continuing to aggressively advance toward her target. But what makes this important is to establish that under Graham’s analysis, Byrd would have been legally justified to shoot her in the back fleeing.
