Dumbfuck, gold isn’t related to inflation. Gold’s worth is related to the willingness of people to pay to own it. When currency is unattractive and equities are unattractive, the relative worth of gold increases.
One doesn’t look at gold as, say, 8.5% more costly because inflation made everything else 8.5% more expensive. One looks at gold as more valuable because everything else looks like there’s a good chance valuations will be lower a year from now.
Inflation might be coming down but the damage done by runaway inflation and the Fed’s forced response to it will create pain. Gold’s a safety valve. For that matter, so is oil, to some extent, because of the external production fluctuations that help support its value.

We don’t really know much about the Biden documents or case because it was all immediately turned over to DOJ investigators with the proper training and clearances. So they don’t talk about it.
But we know much more about the Trump investigation because his own lawyers stalled for over a year, lied repeatedly, went on television a hundred times and shot their fat stupid mouths off, and then challenged the warrant and recovery in open court before the dumbest most incompetent federal judge in the US.
DOJ prefers to handle these investigations quietly. Trump and his lawyers would have none of it.

The question is whether that completely misses the point under the current Supreme Court. What’s in question is not whether something is legally defensible, but whether the federal judiciary at its highest level still subscribes to rule of law. What we do know is that precedent doesn’t mean beans to this court when its conservative justices want to do something else.

Sweeping away Miller could conceivably create lots and lots of work for those five but also for the other 179 at the circuit level.
