Meanwhile, Arkansas Democrat Bill Clinton found a lifelong partner willing to enable his repeated rapes and other assorted sexual assaults of women, who co-created a nonprofit foundation that masks a lucrative family income stream.
Worked out great for Bill Clinton. As far as Hillary is concerned, we’ll have to wait until 2024 to see how the final chapter plays out.

Although I have to admit that The Even Bigger Fucking Moron and YLB are persuaded. Increasingly, QoS McHillbilly finds himself directing his bravado to the lowest common denominator of his party. His audience is Democrats with double-digit IQs.

And the best the defenders of rape bounty can offer by way of a defense is a “BLUE DRESS!!!!!” from three decades in the past.
None of the millions of college educated women who turn out this November will be thinking about Paula Jones failed struggles to build a career in porn. Fewer than half of them would even recognize her name. One out of six of them will be remembering the face of their rapist. Half of them will be remembering the day they took a close friend to the hospital following her rape. And the other half will be remembering how their life was transformed for the better by their abortion.

It’s a way of getting attention. They thrive on negative attention. I am pretty sure that most likely reason behind that is because it’s the only form of attention they got when they were kids. Mom and/or Dad never looked at them or acknowledged their existence until they did something horrible like spilling a glass of milk at the dinner table. Then what they got was histrionic overreaction or even violence in response.
One of my best friends grew up in a household like that. He’s a pretty conservative guy, a damn good machinist and a hellava good man. But his Pop never looked at, spoke to, or even really noticed he or his brother until some disaster happened. Then they got their asses kicked good and hard.
That’s how right-wingers raise their kids. They beat them, lie to them, fuck them over and occasionally rape them because children are possessions, mere objects and burdens that cost money and real psychological effort to deal with. When Christmas comes around they dust them off and put them on a pedestal for a few hours, but then they get put away with the rest of the Christmas decorations once the Grandparents leave.
One great thing about that guy, when his father finally died of liver cancer from a lifetime of drinking shitty beer all the time, was that he inherited a massive collection of rare antique and some rather esoteric firearms. Going out shooting with him is a blast.

A cursory review of posting history couldn’t help but reveal that nobody, literally nobody here, has anywhere near the preoccupation that Degen has with anuses, rectums, sphincters, and fecal elimination. It’s hard to find a post from anyone else that even mentions these things unless it is in an equine context (the name of the blog after all). But Degen truly stands all alone in his daily preoccupation with thinking about, talking about, and writing about seeing, touching, penetrating, exercising, smelling, even tasting, and otherwise vigorously and intimately experiencing human assholes and things going into and coming out of them.
And I just want to say, I assume Degen is het. It hardly matters in this context. And I have no reason to doubt it. It just goes to my longstanding point that has always been true in human society. Statistically heterosexuals are much more aggressively preoccupied with anal sex than homosexuals. The statistics don’t lie and they remain consistent over time. Degen really seems to prove it. And that’s okay. I’m not here to kink shame. What you do with your junk is your business. It’s just funny how much Degen needs to make it his business.

GOP outreach and support to Russia really pre-date Putin but do coincide with his arrival in Moscow and the beginnings of his rise under Yeltsin’s baroque corruption and incompetence. Staffers and consultants of Tom DeLay working in concert with Team Abramoff began developing ways to run Russian campaign/PAC funding and political influence through U.S. tribal interests.
And Putin was well positioned to assist in his capacity transferring Soviet era sovereign state wealth to Russian Federation state funds and managing the new Russian Federation’s foreign held assets. Putin was seen by lobbyists and money launderers as a mid-sized fish with upside potential. They were eager to get their hooks into him and land him.
Oh, how the tables have turned in thirty years.

Remember, we told Degen this would happen. We told him that the path it was on would lead to this. Forty years ago, even twenty years ago, it was viable to argue that inflammatory, and overtly partisan accusations directed against “conservatives” around things like racism and fascism produced blow-back against the accuser.
But then “conservatives” donned Fred Perry polo shirts, grabbed up Tiki Torches, and marched in unison to defend the ancient and honorable right of white men to own Black slaves while chanting “JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US!!!”
They began arming themselves and killing people.
And they attacked Congress to try and overturn an election they lost.
So the rest, as they say, is history. A history that will follow them permanently forward forever so long as they refuse to repudiate it.

Vicious Troll spews:
Here’s how KBJ could have problems. If her nomination is under consideration in the Senate Judiciary Committee at the same time that things blow up on the southern border:
then her immigration law decisions will be front and center, and Hawley and Cruz and Lee and Sasse and Graham and… will drill into those soft spots in her judisprudence rather than mess with the icky child porn stuff. Voters can be treated to video of massive illegal alien incursions into southern Texas and southern Arizona, thence into Nevada, while Kelly and Cortez Masto are asked to vote to confirm the nominee most likely to ensure that those illegal aliens will be here permanently. As all of this stretches into summer, when the rivers begin to run a little slower and the problem worsens, and as the economic situation in Mexico worsen and those external pressures further increase illegal immigration, KBJ’s appeal will weaken, particularly as so many GOP senators were eager to welcome Judge Childs to the Court instead.

If Degen and Team MouthBreather actually followed the process directly, instead of twice removed via the Chernovic-PJMedia-Tucker decoder ring of stupidity, then they’d know that any competent nominee declines to discuss specifics that might pre-figure their considerations of matters to come before the court. Even more so when that nominee presently is actively serving on a federal appeals court that considers such matters.
What Cruz, Hawley, and Lee get to do is make brief, limited speeches leading up to an unrelated question.
And this is why railroading in A.J. GangRape was such a dumb move when they already had all the votes. Because there’s no credible way to turn aside legitimate questions about a history of standing around laughing drunkenly watching some father’s little girl get raped.

long winded and entirely wrong.
But you have to give “conservatives” credit. Even when they lose, again and again and again and again, they always find a way to perceive it as “a kind of a win”.
And it seems to me a big part of that process involves them tallying up a winning scorecard before they’ve even left the dugout and stepped onto the field. Degen is celebrating a devastating series of unsurvivable rhetorical truth-bombs awaiting KBJ that in fact do not exist and will never be dropped. He’s sure to have gleaned this keen insight from his extensive “research” sources in Twitterspace and 8chan, or careful reading of the musings of Mr. Meghan McCain.
And while the rest of us will be wondering what the fuck, “how the hell does Jim Clyburn have anything to do with anything”, Degen and all the other Newsmax fans will be running victory sprints around an imaginary corpse of KBJ.
They live almost entirely inside their own heads now.

I applaud Mandel for his restraint. In almost any other setting than a debate stage, involving almost any other veteran, Gibbons would’ve lost a few teeth for that one.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@45 “This year there’s a famous name among the GOP candidates: Laxalt.”
Which happens to be his mother’s name. But his father’s name was famous, too. Here’s how it came about:
“Laxalt was born in Reno, Nevada, the son of Pete Domenici, a Republican U.S. Senator from New Mexico, and Michelle Laxalt. He is the grandson of former Republican Nevada Governor and U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt. Laxalt’s mother raised him as a single parent. Laxalt’s paternity was not publicly acknowledged by his parents until 2013. At that time, Domenici acknowledged that Laxalt was his son and was born as a result of an extramarital affair.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Laxalt
In other words, a U.S. Senator fucked another U.S. Senator’s daughter, and he’s what popped out. Despite an impressive-looking resume, this bastard son of a philandering Republican senator is a lying piece of shit who, among his other offenses against truth and democracy, wanted to throw out legitimate military votes:
“Laxalt was Nevada co-chairman of the Donald Trump 2020 presidential campaign. Before Election Day, Laxalt unsuccessfully sought to stop Nevada from counting early-voting ballots from Clark County, Nevada (the state’s most populous, Democratic-leaning county, containing Las Vegas).
“After Trump lost Nevada to Joe Biden, Laxalt claimed without evidence that large-scale voter fraud had occurred in Nevada and sought to overturn the election results. Laxalt and other Trump campaign officials provided no detailed information to support their claim of fraud. Laxalt presented a list of 3,062 voters who he said were non-residents that voted absentee in Clark County. Nevada residents such as military personnel, students, and congressional staffers do not have to live in Nevada to be eligible voters in the state. At least 146 of the names on Laxalt’s list, which the Trump campaign claimed was evidence of ‘criminal voter fraud,’ were linked to military base addresses or diplomatic postal addresses.
“Laxalt also claimed that 200,000 mail-in ballot votes were verified by machine only and that these machines were unable to match signatures on ballots to those on file; in fact, ballots in Nevada that could not be assessed with machines were subject to human verification.”
This turd shouldn’t be elected to anything. While that’s true of Republicans in general, even by GOP standards he’s exceptionally odiferous.

Interesting battle between rail shippers and the railroads heating up before the Surface Transportation Board. Reciprocal Switching would allow shippers to be served by a competing railroad. Of course the existing Class Is are fighting it, as they would lose their monopoly power. Got an issue with it myself, although it might be good for the shipper, and possibly that shippers customers down the supply chain, it could be seen by some as burdensome regulation and possibly de facto nationalization.
https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/railroads-and-shippers-argue-over-reciprocal-switching-proposal-before-surface-transportation-board/
Nationalization of Freight Railroads in the US, results are mixed in the US. Happened twice that I know of, WWI, and again impending the 70s. The latter was to reorganize the NE Railroads in the wake of the collapse of Penn Central. What the USRA established to oversee it did, formed Con Rail and by 1986 was privatized, could not be done today. The USRA had a mandate to make something workable, that included not listening to Congressmembers, especially ones from the affected states. The latter would be making sure yards and shops that employed their constituents but didn’t have much traffic would be preserved. Although with the Federal Government now having skin in the game, the Railroads got what they needed at the time, deregulation. Penn Central wasn’t the only RR in bankruptcy at the time, so was the Milwaukee Road and Rock Island. BN wasn’t, but almost decided against the track expansion and improvements needed to serve the Powder River Basin.
One thing ConRail studied at the time but the business case turned against it, was mainline electrification. Cost of locomotive fuel had dropped, plus other issues. Including tge new track owner on ConRail’s existing electrified trackage charging them too much.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@85 Maybe there’s a layer of that somewhere underneath, but on the surface it’s basic. Gibbons told a combat veteran “you’ve never worked.” Those are fighting words, pure and simple, and politics is irrelevant on that level. No veteran of any political persuasion will stand for that. Gibbons is lucky Mandel didn’t kick his ass right there.

Been up and down since the startup, many NIMBY Battles, having results of idiots who don’t stop, look, and listen at crossings(believe most FEC crossings in the Greater Miami area now have Quad Gates), and the Pandemic forced service suspensions a few times. The Extension to Orlando should open in a year or two.
It’s gone from a way to maximize real estate investment around FEC properties to potential model for the new concept of Mobility as a Service, with Brightline+. Already offering Uber-like rides and shuttles from there stations, now offering BrightBike bike share as another First Mile/Last Mile option. https://www.gobrightline.com/press-room/brightline-unveils-brightbike-west-palm-beach-new-bike-share-program-through-brightline-plus
Wouldn’t be surprised if they branch out into traditional bus and streetcar networks around their stations as an alternative to current options. Although there was talk of having TriRail serve Brightline’s MiamiCentral, but apparently Brightline and South Florida RTA people didn’t talk about particular specifics, train compatibility.
Still, want Brightline to succeed, wouldn’t mind seeing a little competition for Amtrak, but this could be more of a partnership, as the furthest North Brightline could go, is Jacksonville. The FEC was best suited for this type of operation, plenty of ridership potential, but no current service at the time, as the FEC was a early quitter of passenger service.

Nevada has become a hotbed of Stop the Steal, overpass-Bundy-sniper Republican extremism. Fan of the Star Trek Universe myself, haven’t seen Season 4 yet, but assume it was building on Season 3, the USS Discovery jumps ahead nearly 100;years and has to rebuild the Federation, which had collapsed after the Dilithium Burn nearly wiped out Warp travel. The Federation was down to about 6 worlds, and among the ones that had left, Vulcan, Andorea, and United Earth, which in Star Trek Enterprise, were 3 of the 4 founding members. Stacey Abrams has a cameo as the President of United Earth, as it rejoins. Hey, could be the only time she is a chief executive, either in film or real life.
As for Star Trek, waiting for Strange New Worlds, it’s about time they give Captain Pike and Number One more screen time. Some Trekkies are more outraged that they already casted a James T Kirk for the series, as in Star Trek Cannon, Kirk never served on the Enterprise with Pike. In Season 2 of Discovery, the Discovery did have a run in with the Enterprise under Pike, and a few Episodes with Number One. Also, Australian elections tend to be decided on preference flows from minor parties. Morrissons Liberals survived last time because of preferences from the xenophobic One Nation party going towards the Queensland Liberal National Party(in Queensland, both right wing parties merged). In other states, the Liberals had refused preference deals with One Nation during the 2019 election. I believe it was the video with the “journalist” posing as NRA people that led Morrison to have most of the Liberals preference One Nation below Labor in 2019.
Australia uses a wired form of Ranked Choice Voting where they require every candidate on the ballot in the House to be ranked. Most American advocates don’t go that far. They prefer the voter can preference as many or as few as they want. For the first few RCV elections in San Francisco, since they were counting ballots by hand, they only counted each voters first three preferences..

Now you have an inkling of what our foreign policy would look like if Trump was still in the White House.

@121 “Whidbey Island, shit-hole that it is, didn’t even make the list.”
Sure did. It’s downwind. I’m sure that when they site these facilities, they carefully consider what’s downwind. They studied a map, spotted Doctor Dumbfuck’s barn, then tapped the map and said, “This is the place. When it gets hit, this dumbfuck will be taken out with it.”

@123 I think ol’ Art is one of ours, and was being facetious, as he often does.

@128 my apologies if that is the case..

121)Worse, Trident subs now have a few Low Yield warheads, ones most likely to be used in a conflict like this. They had been talking about something like the W76-1 for years, they actually produced a few under Trump. The plant in Amarillo employs people no matter if we are producing or dissassembling warheads. I was worried about who we had in charge of our arsenal, but could do something about it. Now we got to be concerned about Russia’s and can’t do anything about it.

When I first heard that a China Eastern 737 went down, couldn’t avoid that some would immediately say Ground the MAX not knowing that there are 3 other generations of 737s flying. There are even 737-200 Advanced still flying in Canada, as they are tge best jetliner for Arctic runways. The China Eastern 737 was a 800, which I believe production of, ha either wound down or is winding down, at Renton.

Shame there is no good replacement for the 200 Advanced on rough runways. Alaska retired their last 200 Advanced when tge Red Dog Mine paved their Runway.

According to sworn eyewitnesses, in testimony given to the House committee, the plan for Jan6 developed by Amy Kremer and her daughter Kylie Kremer with Women for America First, from the very beginning was always to send the rally crowd from the ellipse down Pennsylvania Ave to the Capitol where the terror attack on Congress took place.
According to the same eyewitnesses, the planners coordinated with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and with Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson. Planners had originally intended to obtain a parade permit for the movement of the group. But in the final days that element was withdrawn at the direction of Meadows and the campaign who worried that connecting the campaign event at the ellipse with the attack on Congress would reflect badly on Trump. The sworn eyewitnesses all agree that in all the planning they attended, sending the large crowd from the ellipse to the Capitol was part of the plan. But that it was later agreed to simply send the mob toward the Capitol on the day of the event, rather than organize it as a permitted parade so that there would be no security costs and so the Capitol security would not be present or prepared.

@133 Kremer is a deadbeat, too.
