So-called “intellectual moderate” Republican is now calling for a government takeover of social media companies in order to force them to provide a platform for lying, right-wing, white nationalists.
In other words, he wants to cherry pick the idea of seizing control of private businesses from the “Soshyulists”, then use that state control of businesses to impose a right-wing nationalist agenda.
Nationalism combined with socialism.
Why does that sound familiar?
The Loser drafted a letter in December of 2020 ordering the FBI and the National Guard to seize ballots, election records, and voting equipment from states where The Loser failed.
The draft letter cited “national security” as the basis for the seizure of votes.
But the letter is being withheld from the House committee investigating the effort to overturn the election on the grounds that the letter is “confidential attorney work product”.
It can’t be both.
If the “lawful” purpose of taking over an election from sovereign state authorities is “national security” then any such “attorney work product” is on behalf of the United States, and not on behalf of the private individual herein referred to as The Loser.
And if the “attorney work product” is being performed on behalf of the private individual herein referred to as The Loser in pursuit of the private interests of The Loser, then it cannot be in pursuit of “national security”.
The interests of The Loser and the interests of “national security” are not the same. And any authority endowed upon the Executive under Article II specifically excludes the private interests of The Loser. Any seizure of ballots, records, or equipment on behalf of The Loser in pursuit of the private interests of The Loser would be unlawful by definition.
So either the letter is not privileged work product of an attorney advising The Loser and must be turned over upon presentation of a lawful subpoena, or the letter documents a criminal conspiracy undertaken by The Loser and his private advisors to unlawfully use the authority of the office of The Presidency to seize control of the elections in the states where The Loser failed.
Either way it has to be turned over.
There is no privilege with respect to criminal evidence, whether attorney-client privilege or Executive privilege.
