    I have FB friends in CO who post their entire lives on FB. They received their second vaccine yesterday and posted the vaccine card. The manufacture date was 2/26 and they were vaccinated 4/2, which is 4 1/2 weeks later.

    So either CO has some serious inventory management issues or vaccines sit somewhere for quite awhile after manufacture before being shipped out.

    Since Team Trump ordered 600 million doses, The Even Bigger Fucking Moron @ 5, it is highly likely that you were vaccinated with a dose ordered when Trump was still in office.

    I’ve been conducting some informal inquiry and gleaning what I can from the state and county level statistics. And what I’m seeing suggests that what may emerge as we reach national herd immunity will be periodic episodes of geographically isolated pandemic surge, not unlike the kinds of episodes we see with infectious childhood diseases.

    And just as those periodic episodes of geographically isolated surge of childhood infectious disease can often be traced to local concentrations of vaccination refusal, the same may be true of future surges of COVID. Only instead of Marin County it’ll be places like Lassen County and Kern County.

    Ironically these are counties with historic under investment in the very things needed to respond to such isolated outbreaks, like public health clinics, hospitals, emergency rooms, first responders, roads, clean water, telecommunications, and education.

    It’s The New Federalism! And I’m all for it.

    Collectively older “conservatives”, “evangelicals” and gun-humping “patriots” are going to reject vaccination, reject masks, reject social distancing, and reject “COVID passports”. And in doing so they will systematically self-select and concentrate themselves in riskier settings. They’ll choose the cruise lines, the music festivals, the taverns and casinos. the churches, the parochial schools, and the buffet lines that do not require proof of vaccination. There they will gather to laugh, and cough and sing and spit maskless and defenseless with no resources to fall back but their guns, Bibles, and Gadsden flags.

    Then a Product Name: Moderna CV** (** are two numbers), Manufacturer Lot Number and then a date of 09/03/2021.

    Is the date an expiration date? The Product Name, Lot Number and the Date are on a small sticker affixed to the card.

    Then the card also has the Date given 3/24/21 and the location/site that it was given.

    There is also similiar area for information of the 2nd shot, once administered.

    On the backside of the Card is a reminder of when I am to get my second shot.

    I was also give a second Index card with a number on it, my temperature at the check in and “No allergies”. The number might be a “Patient ID Number”. I was told to bring the index card back too, upon my 2nd shot.

But because as far as I can see they miss the forest for the trees. Swalwell needs to stop worrying about dinner companions and networking to fuel his political rise. And focus his attention and that of his colleagues on the things “conservatives” are doing right in front of him to destroy democracy and the rule of law.

    He doesn’t have to light his hair on fire or break a chair over anyone’s head for that. But he can’t pretend that people who as a party would use violence to take over The Capitol in order to vacate an election result they don’t like can ever be redeemed in a democratic system. In that sense he too is “treating it like a game”.

    His yearning for a Republican party willing to work across the aisle may be sincere. But that does not make his yearning realistic.
