It’s all fun and games until someone gets caught. On video.

Amid rumors of a video that shows a student being targeted during a diversity lesson at Boise State University, administrators have abruptly suspended all of the school’s general education classes called “University Foundations 200: Foundations of Ethics and Diversity.”

“We have been made aware of a series of concerns, culminating in allegations that a student or students have been humiliated and degraded in class on our campus for their beliefs and values,” states a March 16 memo from President Marlene Tromp to the campus community.

“This is never acceptable; it is not what Boise State stands for; and we will not tolerate this behavior,” Tromp stated. “…Given the weight of cumulative concerns, we have determined that, effective immediately, we must suspend UF 200.”

I’m sure there is more than one copy of that video.

Death of a migrant in custody of the Biden administration, Eagle Pass, TX.

On March 10, 2021, an adult male in United States Border Patrol custody in Eagle Pass, TX, began to
exhibit signs of medical distress. Agents called for Emergency Medical Services and rendered aid.
Shortly after, the man passed away. The event is currently being investigated by the Eagle Pass, Texas
Police Department and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Professional Responsibility.

I wonder if he was in a cage. I wonder if he was sleeping on a concrete floor under a Reynolds Wrap blanket. I wonder how long it had been since he last was permitted to bathe himself prior to his onset of symptoms.

If the adults are dying, you know the children are dying.

As an engineer, Steve has done the math. Steve chooses Asian massage parlors because they love him longest time per dollar spent. Not including tip, of course. For Steve, it’s not a racial consideration. It’s strictly a monetary calculation.

We have yet to find any credible evidence of anti-Asian hatred or bigotry in this man’s history. Maybe we will. We can’t rule it out. But we do know that his roommates say they once asked him if he picked the spas for sex because the women were Asian. And they say he denied it, saying he thought those spas were just the safest way to have quick sex. That needs to be checked out more. But the only piece of evidence about possible anti-Asian bias points away, not toward it.

The second reason – this one not monetary – is that Steve feels they are less picky about hygiene.

First Vegetable Joe Biden cares so deeply for the migrant children under his care.

Associated Press: Water may be unsafe at Texas site for migrant teens

Migrant children are forced to use water that the White House chef would refuse to use in his Jell-O recipe.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said running water at the Midland camp could be used only to flush toilets or wash clothes because officials aren’t sure whether the water is safe. It’s unknown how many teenagers may have drunk from taps or used it otherwise. They are now being given water bottles for drinking.

Well, sure. Now they are. They got caught.

If the water is so clean, why is it necessary to give the children bottled water to drink?

Asked somwhat differently: “If you gave an order that Santiago wasn’t to be touched, and your orders are always followed, then why would Santiago be in danger? ”

U.S. Health and Human Services, which operates long-term facilities for immigrant children, said the water at the Midland facility “is deemed potable and is tested regularly above standards,” but would not say who did the testing and what the testing found. HHS also did not answer questions about when it learned of concerns about the water.

I should point out that this is not a “Faux News” piece. It’s written by the AP and reported on a CBS News local affiliate site.

This is how the Biden administration plans to turn Texas blue:

More than 10% of the nearly 500 teenagers at the site have tested positive for COVID-19.
    …
Nodolf, the Midland district attorney, said she only learned Friday that if a potential crime occurred on site or a teenager ran away, federal agencies would call the local sheriff’s office for help. A security fence is still under construction even as teenagers have been on site for nearly a week.

Blue is the color of a Texan’s lips when (s)he takes her last breath.

Been watching a few extras for Apple TV+’s For All Mankind. To do the time jump from the first season ending in 1974, to 1983, they took one news story from each year and went into detail. I’m 1976, President Edward M. Kennedy is narrowly defeated by Ronald Reagan, after a 5-4 Supreme Court decision required the counting of 700+ partially marked ballots in Ohio.

They didn’t go into which justices voted. It would have been the Berger Court, and in real life, the Berger Court in 1976 consisted of Eisenhower appointees Potter Stewart and William Brennan, Kennedy appointee Byron White, Johnson appointee Thurgood Marshall, Nixon Appointees Blackman, Powell, Berger, and Rehnquist, and Ford Appointee John Paul Stevens. In For All Mankind, Kennedy would most likely have replaced FDR Appointee Douglas. The story was done to fill in a timeline, didn’t go into detail, but applying today’s partisanship, 4 of the Republicans would vote for Reagan, and the three Democrats would have been for Kennedy. Brennan was a Liberal, I believe, so he might have been the Justice Souter of Reagan vs, Kennedy. Probably the other Eisenhower appointee was the swing vote.

I am normally not a fan of alternate history shows, but I am beginning to like For All Mankind. I like a good Space Race that never happened. Other things that change as a result of the Soviets beating us to the Moon, Chappaquidick is canceled as Senator Kennedy forgoes the party to head back to Washington to confer with other Senators on the need for hearings.(Don’t worry, he still has affairs, he was a Kennedy after all, and she was in his staff in the White House) The Soviets follow up putting Leonov on the moon before Apollo 11 with a woman as Apollo 12 is being launched, forcing NASA to Integrate the Astronauts corps.. The Kennedy Administration gets the ERA ratified, The Reagan Administration does not return the Panama Canal because it is vital to the Space Race, for towing Sea Dragon rockets from Cape Kennedy to the launch site off Guam.

The Iranian Revolution still happens, but the Reagan Administration snaps victory from the jaws of defeat in Operation Eagle Claw. The ever increasing Space Race forces the Soviets to not invade Afghanistan, and that could have far reaching consequences.

““Our report on social justice ideology shows that Boise State is building a social justice university. This ideology asserts that all whites and especially males as oppressors, and that racial minorities are permanent victims,” Miller wrote.

“Social Justice institutions like Boise State then construct an environment that seeks to shame and vent hatred on the oppressors and elevate and insulate the oppressed from any kind of criticism.”

Some people would argue “social justice” is about discouraging cops from accosting newspaper delivery people because they’re black, remedying racial inequities in the criminal justice system, preventing race-motivated attacks on Asian-Americans, etc.

I even remember when being “anti-fascist” was respectable.

    23,
Yes, the Democrats have not instantly solved the problems.

It’s not clear that Democrats, or any party under the current filibuster rules and Senate composition, ever can.

Our immigration laws were born broken. And they are not capable of operating effectively in a modern global economy. Our economy is desperate for most of these workers. Your roofing contractor needs them. Your deck builder needs them. Your driveway paving contractor needs them. And unless American homeowners are now willing to pay residential drywallers $30 an hour, and let them smoke all the weed they like on weekends and evenings off, we had all better prepare for a DIY future.

Everyone with direct knowledge and a stake in the American labor economy wants these workers. But one of the two political parties is now being held hostage by a base core of ignorant racists who would rather stretch a blue tarp over their leaky trailer roof. Immigration reform is now the real third rail of Republican politics. If they touch it they die.

So unless Democrats are prepared to reform the filibuster, they’d better prepare themselves to deal with these waves of refugees and asylum seekers. And the rest of us are just going to have to get up on that roof with a backpack blower and clean our own gutters.

Watch your step. Because this is just another way Republicans are trying to kill you.

Uh, no. It only makes them get more votes, in a country where everyone can vote, if they want to run things.

But plenty of sheep and trailer parks.

Think about it for a moment.
The most energizing nationwide Republican candidate in more than a generation, using the full power of his office, campaigning full tilt with taxpayer dollars to spend, Russian disinformation, and a Senate majority to assist, and with the highest national turnout since 1908, still lost the popular vote by overwhelming margin and could only manage to increase Republican turnout by 12 million pulling from every corner of the US.

And of course still got beat like rented mule.

First Vegetable Joe Biden is now killing migrant children.

PODCAST: Migrants drown in the Rio Grande as they flee the border patrol

Video showed migrant children and an older woman drowning in the Rio Grande this week as they tried to get away from border patrol agents. Investigative Reporter Yami Virgin spoke to Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28), not just about this incident, but also the overall surge of migrants at the border right now.”

Cuellar, whose district extends from the Rio Grande to San Antonio’s suburbs, says incidents like these are what he and others are trying to prevent by sending out a clear message to migrants headed this way not to come.

The man who shot the video claims the agents did nothing to save the drowning migrants.

The problem is that message, which was anything but clear, was “sent out” when Biden was interviewed by Little George and ABC aired it on Wednesday.

That’s the same day those kids drowned.

The Biden Administration is killing migrant children.

    Cunt.

An independent analysis has failed to identify the person who called a local activist a vulgarity toward the end of a marathon online meeting in September that exposed deep divisions on the Madison City Council.

At the same time, the report released Thursday by Phoenix-based USA Forensic identifies four men who might have said the word. And while the four include the man long accused in the incident, Ald. Paul Skidmore, it also suggests the culprit was, unlike Skidmore, wearing a headset and had a microphone that was activated at the time the word was uttered.

Skidmore, a 20-year council veteran, has repeatedly denied using the slur that is generally used against women or to describe female genitalia. He took the report as an exoneration.

UAE Announces $10 Billion Fund for Investments in Israel

The fund builds on the historic Abraham Accord and aims to bolster economic ties between the UAE and Israel — two of the region’s thriving economies — unlocking investments and partnership opportunities to drive socio-economic progress.

“This initiative is an integral part of the historic peace accord signed by the UAE and Israel with the United States’ support, and demonstrates the benefits of peace by improving the lives of the region’s peoples,” the announcement said.

“It is a manifestation of the new spirit of friendship and cooperation between the three countries, as well as their common will to advance the region.”

Nobody wants to invest in the Palestinian territories. They know any “invested” capital turned over to the Palestinians will be 1) stolen or 2) repurposed for weapons intended for use against Israel.

Trump broke down barriers between several Arab nations and Israel. It’s Nobel-worthy. Hey, if they can give a Peace Prize to a thug like Yassir Arafat they can award one to a former president who actually got something done.

They claim to hate “soshulism”. But they actively seek ways to increase corporate and financial market corruption and income inequality in ways that ultimately popularize direct government intervention into markets leading to government control. (Healthcare Insurance/Texas ERCOT)

They claim to hate “Kancel Kulture”. But they actively patrol their own ranks for any deviation from the agreed upon narratives and norms. And those who dare to deviate are not only ostracized, they are targeted for violence and even assassination. (Mike Pence, etc)

They claim to hate “deeveeyunt lifestyles”. But starting in childhood they so aggressively monitor and suppress their own normal drives that by the time they reach adulthood they are emotional cripples shitting in diapers, wearing ball-gags, and shopping out their spouses to the gratification of total strangers in high-risk encounters. Probably explains why the director of Jonson Space Center was at the launchpad, Kranz was probably there to wish a friend luck. It is later implied that a key part failed due to substandard work by a new contractor, that only got the contract as part of a quid pro quo from the Kennedy Administration and a state legislature that was going to block the ERA ratification. In reality, I doubt the Saturn V would have retained it’s status as our only perfect launch vehicle too much longer. Not too many Saturn Vs were launched, 13 launches with no loss of crew or Payload.

Team KILL HIM WITH HIS OWN GUN began teasing the new platform within days of Trump being banned from all social media for trying to use them to get his Vice President assassinated. Though Trump describes himself as “a social media genius” it’s not clear if he has within his orbit the technical capability of producing and launching a mobile-first media platform capable of meeting the standards set by the major smartphone operating systems.

But if he can pull it off he may be able to leverage it to segue into much broader and more global media presence to challenge traditional media outlets with his own unique narrative and fueling his next run for the presidency – an idea many “conservatives” find incredibly exciting.

Skeptics suggest however that Team KILL HIM WITH HIS OWN GUN have never yet demonstrated the patience and discipline to see such a project through. And most speculate that if anything at all comes of the grandiose promises it will be followed soon after with a self-inflicted hack-and-dump, leaving users with critical personal and banking details exposed and vulnerable.

@71 Reminds me of an incident that happened in Colorado, 50 years ago, in the summer of 1970. Back then, Colorado had the country’s strictest anti-hitchhiking law. This was to harass hippies, of course. I was passing through the state, when about 40 miles from the Wyoming state line, I came across two guys in the middle of nowhere, about 30 miles from the town behind me.

Turns out they had been picked up by a driver who was stopped in town for a red light violation. Having out-of-state plates, and being unable to post the fine, they threw him in jail. These two guys had the good sense to tell the cops he picked them up in Kansas, so being unable to arrest them for hitchhiking, the cops took them 30 miles out of town, dumped them along the highway, and told them to walk to Wyoming.

They’d been there three days, without food or water, when I found them. I risked my freedom by taking them to Wyoming. I figured what the hell, I’d just risked my life in Vietnam for those cops’ freedom, so they couldn’t do anything to me the powers that be hadn’t already done to me. Of course, being a Vietnam vet, I didn’t expect them to cut me any slack if they caught me being a humanitarian.

Colorado is more liberal now, but if I were in a red state, I could be jailed for giving them a sandwich or water bottle.

    2. Blame Trump for refusing to let them in, which caused them to stay home rather than try to get in all at once after Biden encouraged the surge.

Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit, Biden’s DOJ reversed Trump positions at SCOTUS level (NBC News, Feb 2):

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department asked the Supreme Court Monday to cancel courtroom arguments scheduled for later this month over two aspects of Donald Trump’s immigration policy, a reflection of the new administration’s reversal on both issues.

Stopping the border wall project was among the first steps President Joe Biden took shortly after he was sworn into office. “It shall be the policy of my administration that no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall,” he said in a proclamation signed Jan. 20.

In another switch, the Department Homeland Security suspended the Trump administration’s policy of sending people seeking asylum, from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, back across the border to Mexico, instead of allowing them to wait in the U.S. for their cases to be heard. From late January 2019 until the program was halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic, more than 68,700 people were shuttled back to Mexico under what the government called the Migrant Protection Program.

You’re a fucking clown, Robinhood Dumbfuck Rabbit. If Biden reverse Trump policies that were working, it was Biden’s responsibility to prevent the crisis that resulted from it.

    71,
    That is not correct.

The plate plate was scanned and came back with a theft report.
But the theft report that came back on the computer in the patrol car predicating the arrest was for a yellow motorcycle with Montana plates.

So the stop, detention, and arrest of a family in a blue SUV with Colorado plates was based upon a stolen vehicle report for a yellow motorcycle with Montana plates.
Under 4th amendment doctrine, an arrest can not be predicated on such a report.

Would the report merit a Brady stop? Sure. I’d say so. Even though it is obvious to any reasonable person that the vehicle being stopped is not the vehicle in the report, some further investigation should be permitted. But that further investigation falls strictly within the confines of Brady v. Ohio. In audio captured during the prolonged arrest the lead arresting officer can be heard complaining that the stolen vehicle report that came back was obviously wrong. So he knew, and he informed his fellow officers, that there was no valid stolen vehicle report.

A dozen officers with guns drawn, controlled extraction, face down with handcuffs is not a Brady stop. The police here conducted an armed violent felon stop with nothing to support it other than the race of the vehicle occupants.

But you’re right about Aurora Colorado:

    https://www.themarshallproject.org/2020/12/18/colorado-tries-new-way-to-punish-rogue-cops

But thanks to Aurora, cops in Colorado who willfully violate people’s rights can no longer rely on qualified immunity defense.
And each of these officers stands to pay up to $25,000 of their own money.

It lost its impact here, too, about the time Kaepernick parlayed his outrage into a $60 million payday.

Rangers and Celtic did not take a knee ahead of the Old Firm derby on Sunday, opting to stand together following allegations that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara was the subject of racist remarks during Thursday’s Europa League defeat against Slavia Prague.
    …
Celtic interim manager John Kennedy added: “We spoke to Rangers and agreed we won’t do it. It’s probably lost its impact so we will hopefully send out a much stronger message if we stand together.

Full disclosure: I don’t like the inequity (See what I did there?) of undefeated teams. I rooted for Eli Manning’s Giants over Tom Brady’s Patriots that last time.

    Good Sunday Morning —

It’s fair to call the deteriorating situation at the US-Mexican border a crisis — even if the Biden administration refuses to use that word.

But it’s more than that: It’s a political crisis for the new president, with no easy way out.

This could not have happened to a nicer couple.

Federal prosecutors are investigating the personal business and tax records of Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby and his wife, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

WBAL-TV 11 News on Friday obtained a copy of the subpoena issued to the Maryland State Board of Elections that seeks business and campaign finance records dating back to 2014.
    …
…on March 19, a group of community activists—and also former Baltimore City Council president challenger, Jovani Patterson—called on Nick and Marilyn Mosby to immediately resign in light of the federal criminal investigation.

    Patterson bluntly explained:

“Crime is through the roof, school systems failing, our tax structure is doubled than what it should be, we’re rejecting jobs, our economy is suffering and we have our politicians flying around, vacationing taking advantage of the city, taking advantage of the citizens. That’s you. That’s me.”

The Mosbys now get to see how justice is applied when its by someone else.

Looks like Railroad Merger Mania 3is beginning. Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern have announced plans to merge. It seems STB approval may be a formality, as the two railroads do not have much of an overlap. Even if they adapt a new paint scheme, Kansas City Southern’s Southern Belle locomotives will now range from Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico to Atlantic Canada. The first North American freight railroad.
