    The ministers putting their parishioners in danger over COVID-19, are they able to be sued? At least the Archdiocese of Seatttle was proactive suspending all masses. Father Ryan has been streaming his services from what appears to be the smaller chapel at St. James Cathedral.

    It seems COVID-19 has accelerated the end of an era of propulsion at King County Metro. Prior to March, the number of straight diesel buses in the Green and Gold/Blue and Gold, was about 10-20. Of the four 30ft Gillig Phantoms (1999 purchase), 2 routes they were used on out of Bellevue/East Bases were adjusted at the shakeup, and the 3rd, Route 200 Issaquah shuttle, has been suspended due to COVID-19. Of the last 40ft straight diesels, the New Flyer D40LF,(2002 purchase) on the Pantagraph App, I have observed over the last month, they have dwindled from 10, to 5, then 3, and by Wednesday, 2. Now it appears none. Been asking around on busfan forums and facebook groups, and it looks like it’s now just Diesel-hybrid, trackless trolleys, and battery electric buses, though too early to make the call.

    This week, the battery electric buses on Routes 226/241 outnumbered the D40LF’s in service.

    Russian Disinformation Fed the FBI’s Trump Investigation

    Let that sink in. The FBI knew that at least some of its evidence against the Trump campaign, and maybe more, was likely part of a Russian disinformation campaign—evidence from a source that was “central and essential” for getting the first FISA warrant. It isn’t clear what if anything the FBI did to determine whether their investigation was based in substantial part on Russian disinformation.
    Yet the FBI assistant director in charge of the investigation, Bill Priestap, told the inspector general that as of May 2017 (when Robert Mueller took over as special counsel), the FBI “didn’t have any indication whatsoever” that their evidence was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

    Johnson and Grassley began maneuvering for the declassification of the footnotes making this clear back in December. They were declassified only this week. I guess Barr wanted to wait until there was nothing newsworthy going on to reveal them.

    The FBI team excluded exculpatory information from its FISA application; it ignored exculpatory evidence provided by another U.S. government agency; and, when that later became an issue, an FBI attorney doctored an email to cover it up. Given all that, it’s not surprising that the FBI, on learning their evidence was the product of a Russian disinformation campaign, simply shrugged it off.

    Let the rebuking begin, gman. You already know what was done. Durham is gonna tell you who did it, and what crime was committed in the process. So get started. Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Brennan, Lovely Lisa, and that POS Kevin Clinesmith are American heroes. That’s your narrative, gman. So sit down with Steve and figure out a way to pin it all on Trump.

    Perhaps the biggest fallout from Covid-19 is that it is making government-backed universal health care in the U.S. all but inevitable. The uninsured population is hardest-hit, and government will pick up the cost of their care. Many of those who died had undiagnosed diabetes and/or other untreated morbidities; getting this demographic into the diagnostic and treatment system will be key to reducing the death toll from future outbreaks, and doing that requires universal health care. Couple that with millions of newly-unemployeds losing their employer-based coverage, and you’ve got an overwhelming need for a government-provided health care. Ironically, Trump now finds himself presiding over the death throes of the employer-based health care system.

I would like this pandemic to pass, might come as a shock to anti-transit people, I am opposed to going fare-free, because it would require a service cut. Prior to COVID-19, fares accounted for around 30% of Metro Revenue. Trolleybuses were slightly higher and the rest of the fixed route slightly lower.

    I’m like a crystal ball, I have been all my life. I tend to think about the future like 75% of the time with only 25% in the past. The present only lasts a day or an hour so no sense thinking about the present, if it’s already in the past.

See one second ago is the past and in about 1 second from now is the future, I’d argue that we either lived in the past or we live in the future and we actually spend very little time in the present.
